Why are taxes patriotic?

Democrats do not believe military service or supporting your country at times of war are signs of patriotism. No, they believe allowing government to take more of your money is patriotic. It all boils down to collectivism. What counts is government using people. I am sure that if we where fighting wars to promote collectivism rather than democracy or to protect our interests then they would find it noble too, but this is insane!

WASHINGTON - Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans. In a new TV ad that repeats widely debunked claims about the Democratic tax plan, the Republican campaign calls Obama tax increases “painful.” Under the economic plan proposed by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, people earning more than $250,000 a year would pay more in taxes while those earning less — the vast majority of American taxpayers — would receive a tax cut.

Why do democrats feel that only those that let them steal from them to buy votes are patriotic? I am betting this is a precursor to the “Well I know we said we would only tax the rich, but we need to tax anyone making over $35K so we can pay for all the goodies we will give you!” speech. Then they can say they gave all Americans the option to be patriotic!

Although Republican John McCain claims that Obama would raise taxes, the independent Tax Policy Centerand other groups conclude that four out of five U.S. households would receive tax cuts under Obama proposals.

I can not say if the Tax Policy Center is independent or not, but they sound like they love concept of taxation, and that usually is a clue to me we are dealing with democrats. Especially when you read that they also believe that high taxes do not have much economic impact. What the report I saw does not tell you is that Obama plans to let the Bush tax cuts expire which means everyone get a tax hike. They also do not look at anything more than the proposed plans. Frankly I doubt Obama sticks to the proposed plan because he also has a ton of spending, collectivists always want to spend, including letting government take over 1/6th of the economy by handing it healthcare. And if you want proof the Tax Policy Center might not be as non-partisan as they claim, all you need to do is read things like:

The Obama plan, which would make relatively low-cost insurance available to everyone through non-group pools and subsidize premiums for low- and moderate-income households, would cost $1.6 trillion, but would also cover virtually all children and many currently uninsured adults.

TPC projects the McCain plan would trim the uninsured by 1 million in 2009 and nearly 5 million by 2013, although their numbers would slowly rise thereafter because the tax credit would fail to keep pace with premiums (see figure). Obama would reduce the uninsured by 18 million in 2009 and 34 million by 2018. Even under the Obama plan, however, 34 million Americans would still lack insurance in 2018.

Invocation of “the children” is a sure fire sign that you are dealing with democrats trying to justify the ludicrously high expense of something. Especially when Obama is raising taxes and McCain is not but the report makes the ludicrous claim both are cutting taxes. Besides, the PC people do not list all the spending Obama is proposing specifically so they do not have to address the fact that Obama plans to tax a lot more than McCain but then also will cut nothing, and very likely increase spending drastically. But you will not get that kind of honesty from any organization the MSM losers quote because they do not want people to see that Barry is nothing but a hard core Marxist.

I pass on this kind of patriotism Joe Biden. In fact I find it insulting that collectivists are trying to rewrite the meaning of patriotism to suit their dastardly and vile agenda. The one undeniable truth in that article is the quote by McCain;

“Obama and his liberal congressional allies want a massive government, billions in spending increases, wasteful pork,” the ad says. “And we would pay — painful income taxes, skyrocketing taxes on life savings, electricity and home heating oil. Can your family afford that?”

Frankly, I see McCain as a big socialist too, so he will not do much to shrink our massive government. Obama on the other hand is a guarantee we will get much more. Remember that the democrats ran in 2006 on stopping out of control republican spending and then went to make gas exorbitantly pricey and have government spend even more & faster than it did with republicans at the helm. In fact practically all our economic problems seem to have magnified or come to light since democrats took over and started doing their thing. Oh, I am sure the MSM and the DNC (same thing) will blame Bush, but the blame belongs on Congress. Think the people deserve to know who caused Freddie Mac & Fanny May to go belly up? Or why our gas prices went out of control until President Bush asked us to remove our off-shore drilling moratorium? What about the massive slow down in our economy as businesses cringe at the rapid expansion of government? Unemployment going up? I guess we are screwed no matter what if we want smaller government, but I prefer slow growth just in case someone comes along that might reverse the damage.
