Yet another one bites the dust…

So now it looks like the drastically rising oceans, the apocalyptic end game the AGW church has warned us would happen if we refused to accept the collectivist government takeover of our freedoms and cash, was also, erm, exaggerated?

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings. The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.

At the time, Mark Siddall, from the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Bristol, said the study ”strengthens the confidence with which one may interpret the IPCC results”. The IPCC said that sea level would probably rise by 18cm-59cm by 2100, though stressed this was based on incomplete information about ice sheet melting and that the true rise could be higher.

Many scientists criticised the IPCC approach as too conservative, and several papers since have suggested that sea level could rise more. Martin Vermeer of the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland and Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany published a study in Decemberthat projected a rise of 0.75m to 1.9m by 2100.

OK, so now we are told that they are unsure of the rise. That’s bull of course because what was likely found is that they have no science to prove this idiotic claim. So now even the threat of Waterworld is gone? No melting glaciers, no disappearing North Pole or ice in the Himalayas, no oceans rising… WTF? What’s left? What’s the impending catstrophe that should scare us all into letting them take away our freedoms and cash in return for, well nothing but an overarching government that has control of every aspects of our lives by limiting our access to energy and controlling our purchase power?

All the fear mongering we used to say was bunk and based on bunk science, is now proven as bunk. That’s why it was retracted. Asked to prove with science their claims, one by one, they are being retracted, or drastically revised, to a point that the end result is a statistical insignificance. And yet, the defenders of the AGW cult are still hard at work trying to make not only like they still have the science behind them, but that the onus is on the “deniers” to disprove the AGW claims, even though now it is a given that the underlying data, methodology, and the projected damage all are outright falsehoods or exaggerations. Even worse, people are starting to see that the real big money influences were not from the people that the AGW cultists demonized, but by the very priests of the AGW cult, which have all made millions, and stood to make billions more, scamming us all.

If the AGW watermelon cultists had any sense, they would drop this lost cause and go invent the next big lie they are going to glom on to try and convince us to let them create their global wealth redistributing collectivist government for the elites by. Of course they will not. They will continue to try and lie & bluff their way through this – after all, they have a complacent and willing media that has so far ignored the scandalous behavior by them – and in the process make sure we all know this is a fanatical cult based more on faith than any kind of science.

Another drop in the bucket

While I do not want to belittle the fact that Obama is pushing for nuclear energy, I find the much touted news that he is pushing for 2 new nuke plants is just a token - one that they can easily take away later when they have gotten what they want: more massive and horribly destructive taxes on all of us - and meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It’s a joke. And insult. The Chinese are building over 120 new reactors in the next decade. That’s commitment to nuclear energy. 2 Plants are not going to add any significant power to the already desperate energy situation we face. Especially since my bet is that they will pull the plug on them anyway later, just like they did with Yucca Mountain. I hope the republicans see through this slight of hand and do not buck on their stance to kill that “Cap and Tax” bill. Remember that when government controls energy through prices they can control the peasants…

Oh, damn…..

It has not been good for the cult of AGW this last couple of months. The defenders of the indefensible have been hard at work doing damage control. The usual apologists and crazies are trying hard to convince us that even if it was all fake, we should still let them do their thing - kind of like the fake but true TANG incident - because if they don’t get what we want we will be in big trouble. A step down from their previous claims we would all be living in a Waterworld, well those of us that survived the coming cataclysms would, but still much ado about nothing. Now they are being dealt another big bad blow.

The university at the centre of the climate change row over stolen e-mails broke the law by refusing to hand over its raw data for public scrutiny. The University of East Anglia breached the Freedom of Information Act by refusing to comply with requests for data concerning claims by its scientists that man-made emissions were causing global warming.

The Information Commissioner’s Office decided that UEA failed in its duties under the Act but said that it could not prosecute those involved because the complaint was made too late, The Times has learnt. The ICO is now seeking to change the law to allow prosecutions if a complaint is made more than six months after a breach. The stolen e-mails , revealed on the eve of the Copenhagen summit, showed how the university’s Climatic Research Unit attempted to thwart requests for scientific data and other information, and suggest that senior figures at the university were involved in decisions to refuse the requests. It is not known who stole the e-mails.

I mean, if the science was so clear cut and settled, why would you need to do stuff like this? Really? The AGW cult has done more damage to real scientific progress than anyone has yet understood. They are the ones that cried wolf. If the real wolf comes, most people will be too skeptical to even bother. I guess this is offset by the many and ever entertaining jokes we can tell at the expense of those that fell for this crap, and those that still continue to think there might be one once of truth to this bullshit. My fondest wish is that people can now actually do scientific research on warming. I am dying to be vindicated on the fact that the warming cycle is tied to solar activity.

Not going to hear this from, or see this on, the MSM

It looks like our AGW cultists have been skewered yet again. It seems that they have been caught selectively skewing the data to make their case yet again.

Call it the mystery of the missing thermometers. Two months after “climategate” cast doubt on some of the science behind global warming, new questions are being raised about the reliability of a key temperature database, used by the United Nations and climate change scientists as proof of recent planetary warming. Two American researchers allege that U.S. government scientists have skewed global temperature trends by ignoring readings from thousands of local weather stations around the world, particularly those in colder altitudes and more northerly latitudes, such as Canada. In the 1970s, nearly 600 Canadian weather stations fed surface temperature readings into a global database assembled by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Today, NOAA only collects data from 35 stations across Canada. Worse, only one station—at Eureka on Ellesmere Island—is now used by NOAA as a temperature gauge for all Canadian territory above the Arctic Circle.

How are we to trust any of this data, especially the historical patern, when they are jury rigging the measurement locations to be in warmer places? Should it really surprise anyone that when you exlude those pesky locations that are colder and shift the measurements to places that are warmer, that you end up with data that shows warming? Remember that pharma companies that get caught doing this exact kind of things during their drug trails end up in court, and people go to jail. The same would happen to people rigging security trading information in order to push the stocks they wanted. Even the Cheerios manufacturer was smacked hard because they could not conclusively make the claim their product lowered colesterol.  Yet we have governments the world over, with an agenda that will cost us citizens trillions of dollars and result ins some real hurt for the non-elite that stand to profit obscenly from this scam, not just turning a blind eye to this, but actually pushing it.

Neither agency responded to a request for comment Wednesday from Canwest News Service. However Hanson did issue a public statement on the matter earlier this week. “NASA has not been involved in any manipulation of climate data used in the annual GISS global temperature analysis,” he said. “The agency is confident of the quality of this data and stands by previous scientifically-based conclusions regarding global temperatures.”

That’s good enough for me! Well not.

In addition to the allegations against NOAA and GISS, climate scientists are also dealing with the embarrassment this week of the false glacier-melt warning contained in the 2007 report of the UN Panel on Climate Change. That report said Himalayan glaciers are likely to disappear within three decades if current rates of melting continue. This week, however, the panel admitted there is no scientific evidence to support such a claim.

Their house of cards is being dimsantelled piecemeal, but it is falling apart. They continue to spin and lump this bull with real problems in the hopes of keeping the momentum, but the truth is coming out, and it looks like too many people were either just had or part of a massive conspiracy to convince us to hand over our freedoms to a world government intent on running a wealth redistribution scam that would make the seleted elite stinking rich.

Al Gore was not available for comments. He was to busy raking in as much money as he could before this thing went south and he was forced to look for a new scam to push for the same agenda.

And thus it begins anon

Well, with the entire AGW ClimateGate scandal wrecking the collectivist’s global world government agenda, and the coldest winter in a real long time rearing it’s ugly head, killing people in Europe, and people, citrus, and tropical farmed fish in the Southern US, even the UN is now forced to switch gears, admit there now is cooling, and even point to the possibility of a coming mini ice age! Soon they will blame man for that problem (maybe even try to convince us that CO2 is behind it all), tell us we need to allow them to form a global government to redistribute wealth and restrict our freedoms, while they fly in private jets to special functions where they eat caviar, drink champagne, and discuss our impending doom, and threaten us with ice world otherwise. After all, the calamity is just the means to an end. In the mean time we are still being promised more of the same tripe from the same idiots with the same agenda. One would be inclined to believe we were spared at least one royal screwing by whatever divine entity chose to derail these collectivists and their plans. Maybe Gaia got tired of all the stupidty and evil done in her name? Heh!

News potpourri

Our president has received and signed a 1.1 trillion spending bill, and I am sure most people have not heard anything about the bill. Here are some details:

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama has signed into law a $1.1 trillion bill that increases the budgets in many areas of the government by about 10 percent, including health, law enforcement and veterans’ programs. Obama signed the bill privately at the White House on Wednesday after receiving the bill from Congress on Sunday. The bill lumps together six of the 12 annual appropriations bills for the 2010 budget year that began Oct. 1.

So this is signed in secret, increases government spending on itself by 10%, at a time when the economy is in chaos, the people are hurting bad, unemployment is again going up, government has to do things like borrow close to $300 billion more because we already are over the limit on our spending for next year. And to top this all off, the collectivist crooks are trying real hard to make up their own version of reality with the ludicrous, ridiculous, and odorous claim that their government takeover of the healthcare decision making process and finances plan that under the best of circumstances will add a minimum of $2 trillion dollars to our already astronomically expanding debt, is actually needed to prevent healthcare costs from breaking the bank! Seriously, do they have no shame? In the mean time we find out that these idiots till think government spending is the solution to unemployment. Tax cuts? Never! That crap is evil. Of course we know tax cuts actually spurred growth, and had the government spending not gone up faster than that growth, things would have been good, while this collectivist government spending stuff has never worked to do anything but drag out recessions. Maybe these losers get their ideas from eating stuff from this place? Americans are wising up to the scam run by these bastards though.

In the mean time the cultists gathering in Copenhagen is providing a platform for the worst of the worse. The clergy continues to pretend their house of cards isn’t coming down and on flames, even as more proof comes out that the game is rigged. And the worlds biggest polluter tells the gang of nuts to take a long walk off a short pier. Don’t the peasants know that Waterworld is coming if we do not bow down to Gaia and let the church of AGW run amok with their grand scheme? the Pope of the church of AGW has predicted it! Don’t worry though. If this thing blows up as spectacularly as Pinatubo did back when, it will spew so much junk into the atmosphere - comparable to decades of man doing its worst possible - that we will again see a 1 degree temperature drop world wide.

If this stuff didn’t hurt so much, it would all be funny.

If they wanted to create jobs, wean us off oil, and help the planet…

We would be drilling like mad for this stuff:

Just a few years ago, the industry didn’t have the technology to unlock these reserves. But thanks to advances in horizontal drilling and methods of fracturing rock with high-pressure blasts of water, sand and chemicals, vast gas reserves in the United States are suddenly within reach. As a result, said BP chief executive Tony Hayward, “the picture has changed dramatically.” “The United States is sitting on over 100 years of gas supply at the current rates of consumption,” he said. Because natural gas emits half the greenhouse gases of coal, he added, that “provides the United States with a unique opportunity to address concerns about energy security and climate change.”

Recoverable U.S. gas reserves could now be bigger than the immense gas reserves of Russia, some experts say. The Marcellus shale formation, stretching across swaths of Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia, has enough gas to meet the entire nation’s needs for at least 14 years, according to an estimate by two Pennsylvania State University experts. Just in Broome County, N.Y., where Fitzsimmons lives, shale gas development could create $15 billion in economic activity, according to consultants hired by the county.

Of course Gore and the donkeys are not going to get rich shilling for this stuff, so I doubt there will be much enthusiasm from the usual suspects for this, just like their isn’t any for drilling for our own oil. But the even better argument to be made for why we should do this is:

With new supplies, the country will be less vulnerable to disruptions from Gulf Coast hurricanes and need to rely less on imports. Already, deliveries of liquefied natural gas from places such as Qatar, Nigeria and Trinidad are down 58 percent in 2008, idling costly U.S. terminals.

Not to mention that we can get much less oil imported if we switch to using gas. Maybe all of what we get from such hell holes as Venezuela or exporters in the ME. Of course the Luddites also had comments to add:

But the prospect of widespread shale gas drilling is also driving wedges in the environmental community. Many environmentalists have sounded alarms about the chemicals that drillers use to fracture the rock and the danger of natural gas or other substances contaminating water supplies.

So what then? Nuclear energy? Because practically everything else they push as alternative sources is junk and unable to produce the energy we need now, let alone in the future. Or is the agenda to make all of us - because they certainly are not going to give up their perks or energy usage from the easy to glean facts - live like people did in the 1800s? It isn’t like the bloated government bureaucracy hasn’t put strict rules in place for these operations that would prevent or drastically reduce any environmental kind of impact. They trust the government to run healthcare but not to supervise this? Heh.

“Climate Cult” destroys science

The whole ClimateGate fiasco is getting more and more interesting. It seems that the politically motivated cultists passing their crap off as science followed through on their threat to make sure nobody got their hands on the tampered and cherry picked original data they based their lies on, and have deleted it:

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based. It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years. The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation. The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals — stored on paper and magnetic tape — were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building.

First off, let’s not insult real scientists by claiming these charlatans are scientists. No true scientist would delete their raw data or refuse to show it and their analysis if they were for real. In fact the only place the left tolerates this shit is when it comes to climate cult. Can you imagine the uproar if some private business - let’s say a pharma company doing research on some new and expensive drug or some business unit that then went on to give huge bonuses to their top execs - did this shit from the lefty hoi-piloi? And it doesn’t stop there! Analysis of the computer model software used by these cultists, which was obtained as part of the hacked data which included the e-mails promising to delete the data rather than let it fall in the hands of the enemy, by a software expert with experience in computer modeling, according to an article at the American Thinker, clearly shows the computer software models used are also rigged and crap.

The cultists are all lining up to defend the indefensible. Stupid and incredible claims that the deleted data isn’t really deleted because we still have the data they compiled from it showing global warming or that this happens all the time but isn’t of importance abound. The crooks, acting more as a bunch of religious fanatics, are still denying that they have been found out and continuing with their plans to rip us all off. It’s about the one-world collectivist government to police population and engage wealth redistribution, not any facts, science, or truth, after all. But the real problem is that these bastards are dealing a death blow to science. Real science and scientists should be frightened by these crooks and cultists. They are telling us we should take it on faith that they are right, not question them at all, and label anyone unwilling to go along as heretics. That’s the trappings of a religious movement, not science of any kind. There is even an inquisition in the making!

Those that still argue this whole AGW movement isn’t political, about money and population control by our elite, totally lacking in science and scientific rigor, and harmful to humanity as a whole, are doing real science and the belief in logic and reason irreparable damage. It is time to end the hoax. The elite, the cult’s priesthood, getting ready to fly their private jets to Copenhagen to sell our lives away for a quick buck and power, deserve nothing more than our scorn and derision. And those that continue to defend them and their false religion should be ashamed. And they say that it is the deniers that are motivated by greed.

Cult of Climate Change in trouble..

Looks like even the MSM can no longer ignore ClimateGate anymore, as this WaPo article shows. What’s ClimateGate about? I’ll get there in a second, but let me set this up for you. Basically we all already know that the watermelons pushing “Climate Change” and demanding we establish a socialist world government to spread the wealth and solve the problem - I know, this baffles the sane mind that their solution to what they have labeled to be a world ending climate issue, is collectivism writ large - before we all die and the mackerels become the dominant species in Waterworld. We are told that there is no disputing the science because the consensus is on their side. But this article in the WaPo is showing another thing.

Electronic files that were stolen from a prominent climate research center and made public last week provide a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes battle to shape the public perception of global warming. While few U.S. politicians bother to question whether humans are changing the world’s climate—nearly three years ago the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded the evidence was unequivocal—public debate persists. And the newly disclosed private exchanges among climate scientists at Britain’s Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia reveal an intellectual circle that appears to feel very much under attack, and eager to punish its enemies. In one e-mail, the center’s director, Phil Jones, writes Pennsylvania State University’s Michael E. Mann and questions whether the work of academics that question the link between human activities and global warming deserve to make it into the prestigious IPCC report, which represents the global consensus view on climate science.

What is missing form this WaPo piece is the “why” that this is going on. The issue comes back to Steve McIntyre’s critique of work by Keith Biffra, which as this American Thinker piece shows, rigged his tree ring research - the same one the IPCC uses at it’s bible on AGW - showing the famous global warming “Hockey stick” effect. basically McIntyre was lambasted and accused of foul play, lying, and much worse, before some saint hacked the e-mail of these clowns and showed us how deep this scam and the defense of these scammers runs. Of course, the cultists are not budging, and the WaPo dutifully mouths their crap for them:

Kevin Trenberth, who heads the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo., and wrote some of the pirated e-mails, said it is the implications rather than the content of climate research that make some people uncomfortable. “It is incontrovertible” that the world is warming as a result of human actions, Trenberth said. “The question to me is what to do.”

This cult is based on lies, damned lies, and the IPCC’s lies. This is about faith, not science. Then again, considering what they keep telling us is the solution to their made up cataclysmic problem, one could easily have concluded this whole thing was a scam from the start. This is going to be fun to watch.

Obamanomics on display

In a brilliant display of the new economic and fiscal policy pursued by the new collectivist order in charge of making sure the private sector does what’s best, we find out that $529 million of our tax dollars are going over to hybrid car company in Finland to make top end cars. But there is more!

WASHINGTON—A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000. The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla, like Fisker, is a California startup focusing on high-end hybrids, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns.

The awards to Fisker and Tesla have prompted concern from companies that have had their bids for loans rejected, and criticism from groups that question why vehicles aimed at the wealthiest customers are getting loans subsidized by taxpayers. “This is not for average Americans,” said Leslie Paige, a spokeswoman for Citizens Against Government Waste, an anti-tax group in Washington. “This is for people to put something in their driveway that is a conversation piece. It’s status symbol thing.” DOE officials spent months working with Fisker on its application, touring its Irvine, Calif., and Pontiac, Mich., facilities and test-driving prototypes.

Damn, this global warming racket sure pays off. Especially when you are connected to the Pope of the AGW cult. I hear Nancy Pelosi is first in line for one of these beauties.

Guess this is a display of the new age of Obamanomics. Government will now decide where our dollars should be invested, because obviously we peasants, but especially the businesses in the private sector, have no clue what’s best for us. Instead some smart politicians will send our tax dollars to those connected to them – that means those that give big money to their campaign coffers for you libs – and properly direct the market. To keep us all safe from any economic downturns, you know. It’s not like these politicians would push for stupid things based on their failed ideology that have real world repercussions or anything…

Technically this isn’t a tax, right?

So is Obama keeping his promise not to tax the middle class by getting more of their money without really rasiing their income taxes? Is an inderect tax a tax hike?

The Obama administration has privately concluded that a cap and trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent. A previously unreleased analysis prepared by the U.S. Department of Treasury says the total in new taxes would be between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. At the upper end of the administration’s estimate, the cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year.

A second memorandum, which was prepared for Obama’s transition team after the November election, says this about climate change policies: “Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation.” The documents (PDF) were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute and released on Tuesday.

That’s all going to help the economy going, right? Ok, I am certain it has the opposite effect, but then again, collectivists believe that government and government jobs should drive the economy anyway. Unless government robs everyone, but especially the productive, there is no money to prop up the bureaucracy. I would be very interested in finding out what that “upper end” American household is for the administration. Is that those making $250K or more, or is this the usual $50K number that democrats use to declare people well off. Here is some more.

These disclosures will probably not aid the political prospects of the Democrats’ cap and trade bill. The House of Representatives approved it by a remarkably narrow margin in June—the bill would have failed if only six House members had switched their votes to “no”—and it faces significant opposition in the Senate.

One reason the bill faces an uncertain future is concern about its cost. House Republican Leader John Boehner has estimated the additional tax bill would be at $366 billion a year, or $3,100 a year per family. Democrats have pointed to estimates from MIT’s John Reilly, who put the cost at $800 a year per family, and noted that tax credits to low income households could offset part of the bite. The Heritage Foundation says that, by 2035, “the typical family of four will see its direct energy costs rise by over $1,500 per year.”

Sounds like another big government boondoggle to me. First they create a complicated system to rob people of their money, and then they funnel some of that back to a select others of their choosing. Then again, that’s exactly what the entire AGW scam is about: wealth redistribution. Par for the course. My bet is also that the plan for those “low income households” that will get tax credits, is to somehow end up with a higher credit than the tax they pay. To save the environment, you know. And of course to achieve “social justice”. One can safely also guess that in the end all these estimated costs bandied in this article end up being way too low, and that most people will end up paying through the nose for this wealth redistribution scam. At least the non-democrat productive people will. Democrats, and especially democrat politicians, seem to feel they are above tax laws, anyway.

The one good thing about this disaster is that it could help hurt democrats at the polls for the next few elections. If there is any justice in the universe it should do a lot of that.

Because personal income tax revenues bring in around $1.37 trillion a year, a $200 billion additional tax would be the equivalent of a 15 percent increase a year. A $100 billion additional tax would represent a 7 or 8 percent increase a year.

One odd point: The document written by Jaffee includes this line: “It will raise energy prices and impose annual costs on the order of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.” The Treasury Department redacted the rest of the sentence with a thick black line.

15% Tax hike huh? Since I feel it is safe to assume that the middle class definitely does not fall into what democrats would call “low income households”, that means the middle class just got a nice indirect tax hike. Obama being a lawyer and all that will certainly point out this is not a tax to them technically, because it is an indirect fee! I wonder if any of the Obama supporters will feel had by democrats for concocting this scheme to funnel so much cash to their special interests and friends. And that on top of all the other ones we have already had rammed down our throat. Wait until they are done with healthcare! That’s when the pain really starts. Get used to that 10%+ unemployment number. That’s a given in socialist economies.

The globalists strike back!

The anti-US collectivist agenda seen in anything from the demands that the US ask the UN for permission to pursue its own interests or the demands by the AGW cult for us to allow a one world collectivist government to redistribute wealth - somehow the collectivists believe this will fix the planet warming up, but I have not quite figured the science behind it yet - and the nutjob disarmament clique which views America as the problem score a big one.

Barack Obama will cement the new co-operative relationship between the US and the United Nations this month when he becomes the first American president to chair its 15-member Security Council. The topic for the summit-level session of the council on September 24 is nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament – one of several global challenges that the US now wants to see addressed at a multinational level.

Her remarks were the latest by the Obama administration to emphasise a shift from the strategy of the previous Bush administration, sometimes criticised by its UN partners for seeking to use the world body principally to endorse its own unilateral policies. The US currently holds the month-long rotating presidency of the Security Council. Mr Obama will join other heads of government in New York during the week of the nuclear summit for the opening of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. The annual meeting of world leaders is this year raising expectations on a number of fronts.

So the left again is legitimizing the most corrupt and vile organization on the planet, the UN. We are talking about the organization that tried to block the US from going to Iraq and accused us of going there to steal oil while running a scam to enrich the its members and Saddam Hussein. The same organization that constantly has people stationed in the third world – when it gets reported, that is – in trouble with the law because they are abusing either the women, the children, or both sexually. The crooks that say the US and Israel are the worlds biggest problem while giving legitimacy to people like Castro, the Kims, Ahmadinejad, Chavez, and every other mass murderer, torturer, or oppressor you can conjure up. The idiots that are supposed to stop evil people from murdering their own or their neighbors but actually help make it happen. That organization that is the biggest pusher of the AGW cult because it hopes to profit from it. And that last one brings up this:

UN officials hope a climate change debate on September 22 will give fresh impetus to the search for a global climate deal at Copenhagen in December. There are also hopes a possible meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli prime minister, and Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Authority president, that Mr Obama would host, could lead to a breakthrough about a timetable for Middle East peace.

That’s because the AGW cultists and the UN share the same ultimate goal: a big collectivist world government to redistribute all the wealth. But hey, they will do more!

Heads of state are also likely to consider how to deal with Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Mr Obama gave Tehran a September deadline to reply to his offer of negotiations. Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadi-nejad will attend the General Assembly “to encourage Iranian views in managing the world,” an aide said.

Here comes another angry letter and a lot of huffing & puffing. In the end they will blame the US and/or Israel for Iran going nuclear, and claim victory. Great! But what’s Obama and the lefty’s biggest concern?

US officials are concerned Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi might try to steal the limelight during his first visit to New York. A public outcry at the Libyan leader’s visit after he last month welcomed home Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, the freed Lockerbie bomber, has already stymied his plans to pitch his tent in Central Park.

This is Barack’s chance to shine on stage! Mouth some meaningless platitudes, apologize for the evils of the US, and bow to one or another despot, while abdicating our sovereignty to the corrupt UN in return for some faked love. How dare Gaddafi! The bastard.

“How President Gaddafi chooses to comport himself, when he attends the General Assembly and the Security Council in New York, has the potential either to further aggravate those feelings and emotions or not,” Ms Rice said.

Maybe he can pull one out of the Chavez play book and call Bush the devil. I am sure this is all going to turn out swell. Maybe Obama can tell them how fast his plan to cripple the US economy will work out so the UN can print the new global currency and help us all down the path to hell.

Crash and Burn?

Kevin McCullough over at FOXNews.com has one heck of a piece in which he is predicting the implosion of the Obama administration, and he attributes it to the following factors, which I agree with:

1. Health Care’s Long and Painful Death: Barring the existing possibility that the Democrats cram a reform bill down the throats of actively protesting Americans through an ultra-partisan process that would shut out conservatives and Republicans from even being allowed to contribute to the discussion, health care reform is dead. It actually died a good while back when the president decided to pivot and create a new issue that no one had been discussing--health insurance reform. The American people will want to know why we should spend $4 billion to cover everyone in America “efficiently,” when we already do so with inefficiencies like people using the emergency room as their general practitioner for $2.5 billion. Deep thinkers on the issue also want to know why the president hasn’t entertained one item of tort reform-- protecting his friends, the trial lawyers-- yet is willing to claim that doctors are eager to lop off feet, tonsils, and other body parts just to make a buck.

2. Cap-and-Trade Will Be the Largest Tax Increase in American History: With the 2010 election cycle just around the corner, it won’t be too long before the campaign ads are drafted. With cap-and-trade still sitting in legislative limbo (and the president’s own adviser--Warren Buffet-- now opposing it openly in the media), with anti-tax Democrats, Republicans, and Independents coming to Washington on September 12, and with “Blue Dog” Democrats getting hammered by constituents during the August recess, the chance of an ultra-partisan “ram through” victory on the legislation would not be wise. Cap-and-trade, if passed, will contribute to unemployment, Wall Street stop and starts, and ultimately reduced treasury revenues. It would serve as the single largest tax increase on the average American in all of American history. Even President Obama admitted as much, predicting that electric bill prices, in his words, would, “skyrocket.” Those that have looked at the specifics tell us that the average utility bill in America will go from $167 to $307 per month, per family.

3. Unemployment Will Remain: By now several Washington organizations, from left and right, and one of note consisting of both--the Congressional Budget Office, predict that unemployment will not shrink from the predicted “Obama high” of eight percent. Instead, nearly without fail, economists are predicting that unemployment will be at or over 10% for up to the next 24 months.-- That is a nearly 250% increase in the unemployment rate under Bush for nearly the duration of his two-term presidency. We did not see the unemployment climb this high during President Bush’s entire two-term presidency. If more people were working, higher taxes and possible new health care entitlements could be considered, but with at least ten percent of the population out of work, it is political suicide for Democrats to even think of it.

4. Obama’s Integrity Has Been Tarnished in August: Not a great deal has been made of the whoppers that the president has been spewing while Congress has been away during the summer recess but it turns out that more people than I realized have also noticed the president wildly “exaggerating” in his talks on health care. For instance, the president confused the $500 physicians actually get to amputate a foot as opposed to the $50,000 that he claimed they got. He also showed an utter disregard for the reputation of those doctors he talks about, the “facts” he uses to make his argument, and is highly overly optimistic about the results of his policies. Long story short, at the beginning of the summer Americans mostly trusted him, his passion index was at +10, he heads into the fall at -14.

5. A $3 Trillion Dollar Budget: There was lots of new spending for this and it sure added up. And that brings me to number 6.

6. A Coming Middle Class Tax Hike: The Obama administration will hem and haw about hiking taxes.—There will be an official, and arrogant, explanation given by Robert Gibbs from the podium in the White House briefing room about why they must to do this to be “good stewards” and to be a “responsible administration” that “pays as it goes.” But the truth is, in order to pay for everything the Obama administration has promised (and budgeted for), a tax hike is looming for small businesses and the working families that President Obama promised would never come. And as an aside, the president was going to break that promise all along. Because the minute the Bush tax relief measures run out in 2010, middle class taxes would be going up in the Obama administration. That means that, fundamentally, that Obama’s “not a single dime” pledge on the campaign trail was just hot air from start to finish.

And these things are actually much worse than he presents them as IMO. Let me enumerate and elaborate on a few of these.

On healthcare: The democrats can not abandon the healthcare takeover plan by government. From the start the plan was to grab those dollars, and the power that comes with them, to enhance democratic control and entrench them in DC. Without provisions or a framework that allows them to pull this off later, any reform will be meaningless to them. But anything that even opens the door to the public option and a future takeover of this money by government, will be akin to a poison pill. They might choose to pass something that will simply cause more damage to the system and come back a few years from now to retry this takeover, but after failing twice - Clinton and Obama - this is starting to look like the American people will not go along with this idiotic plan. So will they just push it through on a pure partisan vote and deal with the fall out? We are talking about people that believe collectivism works, and with that kind of insanity, who knows.

On Cap & Tax: There is nothing good about this vampire. Basically democrats used the most base and vile form of fear mongering to convince people they should be allowed to suck up a huge chunk of change from the private industry so they can then pay off their cronies and friends with it. There won’t be any worthwhile environmental impact either. This thing is just another scam for bureaucrats to shuffle around cash and line their and their friend’s pockets. When it kills even more jobs, the donkeys are going to pay for it.

On unemployment. I pine for the bad days where it we had the MSM constantly tell us things were heading in the wrong direction because unemployment was only at 4%. Many people out of work are likely figuring out the same. Nuff said.

On Obama’s integrity: Never thought he had any to begin with. The perception of integrity is crumbling, as the mask drops and people get to see that “Hope & Change” is nothing but a catchy slogan, while the actions show that we have more of the same discredited economic policies that got the democrats in trouble back in the Carter days. Remember how Bush was accused of being a liar? This guy is the biggest liar I have ever seen, and yet, they are making like he is smart: enlightened. Go figure. Just look at the dregs he is surrounded by for proof that his administration and congress are trying to set a new low.

On the budget deficit: It’s going to be worse next year. And as the dollar collapses and our economy starts tracking towards that of Zimbabwe, it is going to get “progressively” worse. Methinks that’s the agenda however. A broke America is no longer a super power, and hence, not able to stand in the way of the world government progressive movement. Be afraid.

On the tax hike: What do you mean about “coming”? We already have seen indirect taxes because of the shenanigans of these scoundrels. Why do you think the correct name is “Cap & Tax”? And we knew even before the 2008 elections that the left was going to let the Bush tax cuts expire. They were not “progressive” enough. That’s code for they didn’t screw us all hard enough. And that $250K limit? More like $25K. Get ready for it. The middle class will soon realize that for all the demonizing of the Bush tax cuts by the usual leftists propagandists in the MSM and the DNC as a scam to benefit the rich, what they are getting from the democrats will really harm them big time. In fact I bet they soon will pine for the Bush tax cuts again.

Kevin is right. Americans, the sane ones at least, are realizing that they were had. They are angry and getting angrier as they see us pick up speed to go off that cliff. And they are going to turn on these democrats. Now if we only had people with clear cut and fiscally responsible answers to these problems waiting in the wings, we would be all set.

Wierd Science? No, Real Science…

Looks like the Journal of Science has a new international study dealing with the impact of solar cycles on climate. You need to sign up to read the study. But I think the AGW crowd that always dismisses solar activity will not like the study’s observations and conclusions which are, and can also be found in this article in the Science Daily, referring to the Journal of Science article in question, and appropriately titled “Small Fluctuations In Solar Activity, Large Influence On Climate”, much. As people like me have been saying for the longest time: solar activity and the impact of all that energy and its fluctuations on our oceans, is the most, if not paramount and only non-marginal effect that affect climate and creates changes. But don’t take my word for it. Here is the study’s conclusion:

An international team of scientists led by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) used more than a century of weather observations and three powerful computer models to tackle one of the more difficult questions in meteorology: if the total energy that reaches Earth from the Sun varies by only 0.1 percent across the approximately 11-year solar cycle, how can such a small variation drive major changes in weather patterns on Earth?

The answer, according to the new study, has to do with the Sun’s impact on two seemingly unrelated regions. Chemicals in the stratosphere and sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean respond during solar maximum in a way that amplifies the Sun’s influence on some aspects of air movement. This can intensify winds and rainfall, change sea surface temperatures and cloud cover over certain tropical and subtropical regions, and ultimately influence global weather.

“The Sun, the stratosphere, and the oceans are connected in ways that can influence events such as winter rainfall in North America,” says NCAR scientist Gerald Meehl, the lead author. “Understanding the role of the solar cycle can provide added insight as scientists work toward predicting regional weather patterns for the next couple of decades.”

And before the usual cultists decide to denigrate the study by claiming it is the work of evil oil companies or their stooges, let me point out what this article says on that..

The study was funded by the National Science Foundation, NCAR’s sponsor, and by the Department of Energy. It builds on several recent papers by Meehl and colleagues exploring the link between the peaks in the solar cycle and events on Earth that resemble some aspects of La Nina events, but are distinct from them. The larger amplitude La Nina and El Nino patterns are associated with changes in surface pressure that together are known as the Southern Oscillation.

Now granted this is not consensus science, so some people will pretend it doesn’t exist, and with language like the quote below, dissing the existing consensus science models, I can see that some people will not like this study much,if at all.

With the help of increased computing power and improved models, as well as observational discoveries, we are uncovering more of how the mechanisms combine to connect solar variability to our weather and climate,” Meehl says.

And doubly so when people that want real science to influence the decision making process, are asking for a chance to debate the cultists. I know this is a direct response to the “Cap & Tax” bill in congress, but the fact is that this bill and what it does – not what the left pretends it does, but what it really accomplishes – proves the agenda is a government effort to steal even more money from the private sector, while giving itself even more arbitrary authority and power to decide which businesses, technologies, and future changes should be allowed to happen. We all know how well this government driven planning works. If you have doubts, I recommend you have a chat with Kim Jong Il, whose country still practices this kind of top down government controlled economic and social planning. Ask them how well it is going for them.

When asked for a comment, the high priest of the AGW cult, Al Gore, had this to say:

HERETICS! OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

OK, it was not Al Gore saying this stuff, but the message is the same. There is still time to kill that “Cap & Tax” bill, and we should “encourage” our politicians to do so. Wonder if we will see the findings of this study reported in the media like we constantly see when one of the AGW cultists claims the sky is falling…
