Bold admission that Iran going nuclear is bad..

Israel has had nuclear weapons now for a few decades, and short of the usual nutjob demanding the Jews be pushed into the sea and the land reclaimed, non of its Arab nations have ever felt the need to build nukes to protect themselves. As anyone that hasn’t been living under a rock knows, that sentiment has not been extended to Iran, a fellow traveler and the nation vying for the title of top Jew hater, which has nuclear ambitions. In fact, Iran’s Arab neighbors are all either contemplating nuclear programs of their own - something they never felt compelled to do to keep up with Israel, or flat out pointing out that only idiots think anything short of force will deter Iran at this point.

ASPEN, Colo. | The United Arab Emirates ambassador to the United States said Tuesday that the benefits of bombing Iran’s nuclear program outweigh the short-term costs such an attack would impose. In unusually blunt remarks, Ambassador Yousef al-Otaiba publicly endorsed the use of the military option for countering Iran’s nuclear program, if sanctions fail to stop the country’s quest for nuclear weapons. “I think it’s a cost-benefit analysis,” Mr. al-Otaiba said. “I think despite the large amount of trade we do with Iran, which is close to $12 billion … there will be consequences, there will be a backlash and there will be problems with people protesting and rioting and very unhappy that there is an outside force attacking a Muslim country; that is going to happen no matter what.”

“If you are asking me, ‘Am I willing to live with that versus living with a nuclear Iran?,’ my answer is still the same: ‘We cannot live with a nuclear Iran.’ I am willing to absorb what takes place at the expense of the security of the U.A.E.” Mr. al-Otaiba made his comments in response to a question after a public interview session with the Atlantic magazine at the Aspen Ideas Festival here. They echo those of some Arab diplomats who have said similar things in private to their American counterparts but never this bluntly in public. The remarks surprised many in the audience.

Emphasis mine on that last bit. See, the only people surprised by this are the morons that also still believe talk can make a difference. That the problem here isn’t that Iran is run by destructive madmen, but that we (meaning that aggressive America of the Bush age) are the evil ones. This Ambassador has basically admitted that at least his country, the UAE, knows that nothing short of force will deter Iran at this point, and that Iran’s terror supporting/enabling leadership is pursuing these weapons so it can use the shield it will provide them, to escalate that support. And he has done it in public. He knows Iran will cause mayhem in this region if they go nuclear. Don’t take my word for this:

The ambassador also said that “talk of containment and deterrence really concerns me and makes me very nervous.” He said Iran has not been deterred from supporting terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah now, when it doesn’t have a nuclear arsenal. So why, he asked rhetorically, would Iran be more cautious in its support for terrorism if it did.

Exactly! Why does Iran need nukes if it has gotten away with this stuff already? The only thing that makes any kind of sense is that Iran plans to escalate, not reduce its efforts and the problems that its proxies are causing, and it thinks that nuclear umbrella will protect it from what happened to Saddam in Iraq or the Taliban in Afghanistan when they pushed us too hard. Does anyone doubt we would have handled these situations differently if we had to deal with a nuclear armed enemy? Thank Israel that Saddam didn’t have nukes. We might be thanking them too for Iran not having them sooner than later.

Of course, I am sure the usual leftards will now chime in that a nuclear enemy might have prevented Bush’s cowboy adventurism, and thus justify why we should let Iran go nuclear, but before you actually think these morons have a valid point, consider the following statement by the UAE ambassador:

Mr. al-Otaiba said that his country would be the last Arab country to cut a deal with Iran, if Tehran were to go nuclear. But he predicted other wealthy Arab states in the Gulf would dump their alliances with the U.S. in favor of ties with Tehran if President Obama does not stop the Islamic republic’s quest to become a nuclear power. “There are many countries in the region that if they lack assurance that the U.S. is willing to confront Iran, they will start running for cover with Iran,” he said. “Small, rich, vulnerable countries do not want to stick their finger in the big boy’s eye if they do not have the backing of the United States.”

Anyone thinking that this will result in more stability or lead to a better world is not just a moron, they are delusional. As I have often said, at a minimum you will get this:

Mr. al-Otaiba also said that an Iranian acquisition would set off a nuclear arms race in the region, predicting that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey would all start nuclear programs if Iran acquired such weapons.

Your average ignorant moron would argue that there is nothing wrong with these countries going nuclear too, I am sure. After all, Pakistan and India did it. And we are even living with the Norks being a nuclear nation. Let me point out what this ambassador had to say about that…

The ambassador in the end stressed that his country would not tolerate a nuclear Iran. “The United States may be able to live with it,” he said. “We can’t.”

I think the US would not be able to live with it either, but then again, the people that think this way are also the ones that believed the USSR should have been the one to win the Cold War, America isn’t fit to be the world’s leader because it is the root of all evil, China would do a better job than the US if it was top dog, and that they are able to use talk to keep a nuclear armed Iran in line. No matter how this plays out, it is going to be ugly. The thing is, as this ambassador has pointed out, that a nuclear armed Iran will be much more costly than whatever crap we get if we prevent it by force.

X-37B makes its first flight

Our military knows how important our satellites are to their operations. Any country that goes to war with the formidable US military would be in a world of hurt. That is, unless they can cripple the technological advantages we have. And the quickest way to do so is to destroy enough of our satellites to fail both the GPS and the communications capabilities that our military hardware relies on to do its job well. The Chinese know they can not take the US head on. Let’s not kid around. China has ambitions to global domination, and they know the road to that requires them to eventually deal with the US military. They might choose to simply wait it out and hope 5 decades from now their economic advantages, the rapid decline of the US as the collectivists destroy anything and everything that made it exceptional, and their program to steal any and all military or industrial secrets without even the slightest bother to conceal that’s their agenda, to come together and deliver onto them that superior military capability, but my bet is that the fight will come sooner than later. The Chinese seem to feel the same way because for a while now their strategy has been to explore and build ways to come at us by asymmetrical means. From bringing down the internet to using ballistic missiles as carrier killers, they are looking at ways to overcome the technological advantage of our military, and score a David vs. Goliath kind of kill. And they are relying heavily on a strategy that attacks our space based infrastructure and destroy our technological advantage in the quickest and most effective way. So it is good to see that our military, despite the pap from the usual idiots that think the way to keep the hungry wolf at bay is to bare your throat to it in a gesture of submission, are taking the space threat seriously and acting upon it.

The military is fast moving to the use of UAVs. It should come as no surprise that an UAV would be just as good an option to have in space. The ability to quickly replace satellites or even protect ones in space while destroying enemy satellites or enemy kill vehicles, in order to provide continuity on the modern battlefield are key to deterring aggressive opponents. If you know your strategy to deny your enemy space and technology isn’t going to work, even a lunatic is going to think twice about starting a conflict that hinges on an asymmetrical attack reducing your enemy’s ability to take your forces out and give you a chance to win a fight you otherwise would not. If anything, this stuff will deter adventurism.

Twenty years ago today….

While most people on the right are spending today basking in the many crushing defeats handed to demcorats around the nation, and democrats and their MSM consorts spend the day spinning away the meaning of these results, we should bear in mind that today marks the 20 year anniversery of a great event: the fall of the Berlin wall, and the beginning of the end for the old USSR and it’s client state prison farm. Claudia Rosett over at Forbes has a great article discussing that topic.

Here is what happens when government helps you.. Part Deux

I am worried that everyone here, including myself got way too focused on the first part dealing with the credit card issue, in my post below, and either ignored or missed the real big point in my post: that the collectivists screwed our economy up, even worse than usual, policy wise, and that it is going to get worse if they keep at it.

I used the example of how they rammed through the stimulus patronage bill, but everyone of their big policy pushed through was disastrous for the economy. Let me enumerate them for you. I hope for the day that we do not need to go into the details and the consequences of the left’s response to the economic crisis of their own making either, but the truth, facts, and logic, never seem to be things the left cares for, so I guess I need to quantify that again. Despite their best efforts, the truth has come out. Those that want to know the facts know that we are where we are today because of ideological policy. It was ideology that drove these politicians to legislate the conditions that resulted in the economic collapse we experienced. Lending institutions were forced by law into giving money to seriously unqualified people. Then when this still was not working the same politicians legislated a hokey and completely opaque trading scheme for those securities based on toxic assets, and used Freddie and Fannie to showcase government backing of these dangerous schemes and legitimize them. Finally they decided to bring down the house of cards, right before an election – so they could score on the political perception, one I never quite understood, that democrats are better for the economy – to win the presidency and big gains. Now their solution to an economic slump that I am certain they did not predict or expect to be this big, is for them to meddle even more but keep the underlying fundamental and illogical problem in place. That’s going to work well.

That above brings us to the government takeover of the banking and lending industry, and the consequences of that. While they demonized the TARP program as corporate bailouts with tax payer money, these leftists not only saw the $700 billion that the Bush people put up, but raised it to over $3 trillion, and are even floating the idea government might have to buy out the entire system fro some $29 trillion. Many of those institutions that lined up to drink at the trough of public cash, now regret the deal, but the real and frightening danger is this concept that government should micromanage the private sector and directly work against market influences collectivists don’t like or approve of. The same ideologues in control of government that created the problem in the first place, I should add. As I already said: this is going to work out well.

I won’t waste too much time on the government take over of two out of three American car manufacturing companies. There is no way of defending the tax payer funded takeover of these companies. Even more disgraceful is how that tax payer money was not used to pay off those people that put their own money on the line as investments in GM or Chrysler, but to prop up unions as majority stake holders. Yes, the same unions that are the fundamental underlying problem which made these companies unable to compete and cranked out the low quality wares that turned people off. Talk about your mob style pay-offs. And now the politicians in DC can tell both Chrysler and GM to make cars nobody really wants too.  I am sure that once other companies, but especially Ford, all start running circles around these two, that the politicians will use the power of government to rig the system in favor of their new holdings. At the tax payer’s expense, of course. What do you think the “Cash for Clunkers” program was all about anyway? How well has that worked?

We also got graced by the watermelons – the collectivists masquerading as environmentalists – with the “Cap & Tax” bill: the largest and most massive single tax increase passed ever by our politicians. The average American family of four will now get to pay anywhere from $1000 to $4000, depending at whom is talking and how they come up with their umbers, in extra costs and fees tied to their energy use every year. Since they are “costs and fees” I guess we could all tongue in cheek try to defend Obama’s blatant lie that he would not raise taxes on anyone making less than $250K. Don’t worry this going back on his promises, especially about taxes and who will pay them, is going to happen so often we will soon be numb to it. It is all going to work out well!

Every one of these moves was intended to bring in some huge section of the private sector, and more importantly the money in it, under control of the federal government. But no plan was as ambitious, or deceptive, as the healthcare insurance government take over, attempt. Oh, sure they guarantee us that’s not the plan, but only the dumb or the propagandists in the MSM fall for that blatant and obvious lie. The left wants to take the 1/5th of our economy tied to healthcare and put it in the hands of the politicians. To cut costs and improve it, they tell us. Except for the obvious fact that if they really wanted to cut costs and improve anything, they would avoid as much government meddling as possible. Not increase it. Want healthcare reform donkeys? Give us less government and tort reform. Neither of those are part of the plan however, because the plan is not about fixing anything healthcare related, now is it. The collectivist lies don’t seem to be working so well, though.

The only place that these leftists have felt spending needs to be cut is in defense. I am sure that it will be these same people telling us the next time that we need to send our troops into harms way that we should not because they lack equipment. Kind of like when we had to go deal with Iraq and they tried to blame Bush for the defense cuts of the Clinton years. Defense jobs I guess are the types of jobs collectivists think are bad, I guess. How long before the democrats undo the sacrifices of the last 7 years and guarantee us a future war in the ME that will cost us 10 times as much as what we already paid? That’s coming. That’s coming, and I can’t wait to see how well it works for us.

There are many more examples of this. It has not been more than what, 9 months, since they have taken over, and foreign and economic policy decisions have all been disastrous. While the rest of the world looks to be moving out of the recession, we are going deeper into it. Don’t believe the constant MSM propaganda saying otherwise. These people are covering for the incompetent ideologues in DC because they have a vested interest. About the only thing that the Obama people have gotten right is the Bush GWoT policies the left used – notice I say used to – get totally crazy about. Funny that huh? I think Obama’s actions are working well to vindicate Bush.

Why? Just why now?

The collectivists and the MSM told us that America needed a fresh start after Bush “squandered” our good will by actually standing up to tyrants, asserting his belief America was the greatest and best thing to happen to humanity, and in general angering all the internationalists by refusing to subject us to the will of the UN, which is largely controlled by tyrants and tyrant lovers. We were constantly regaled with stories of how America was hated by people, people that in my personal experience hated us long before Bush became president anyway, because of Bush and his lack of humility and subservience. Heck they even told us that the terrorists only started hating us and wanting to kill us after Bush responded to their 9-11 attacks. Remember that president Bush used our military first to remove of the Taliban from power in Afghanistan, and then, after dilly dallying with the usual terror lovers and enablers in the UN - always are more concerned with their own bottom lines, which profit considerably from the world’s tyrants – for a year, went after Saddam, which at the time was arguably one of the top enablers of terrorism. The irony of Afghanistan and Iraq happening after the 9-11 attacks, never escaping these people that swore he made people hate us.

Enter Obama. Oh how they loved his enlightened ways. We were promised that he would do the impossible. Heal the wounds, close the rift, have haters love us. Tyrants would line up to sit down with him and finally talk. America would be loved. So you can guess my confusion when I found this tidbit about the Russians resuming Cold War like patrols.

WASHINGTON – Two nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines have been patrolling in international waters off the East Coast for several days, in activity reminiscent of the Cold War, defense officials said Tuesday.

U.S. Northern Command would not comment on the Russian submarines’ movement. But in a prepared statement, Northern Command spokesman Michael Kucharek acknowledged the patrols and said the U.S. has been monitoring the two submarines.

Two senior U.S. officials, however, said the submarines had been patrolling several hundred miles off the coast and so far had done nothing to provoke U.S. military concerns. The officials provided details on condition of anonymity in order to discuss intelligence reports.

Now, AP gets it right that two Russian SSN (attack) subs patrolling of our East coast are no big deal to our military, even if they chose to be hostile, considering that we picked them up and shadowed them. Our military is good that way. But the big picture counts. This is a resumption of the Cold War patrols. We had none of these during the, as the left would always say, hatemonger Bush’s “fascist reign. They are now happened under the watch of our Messiah, the guy we were told would make everyone love us, however. So one is left begging the question why the Russians suddenly feel the need to get all militaristic, even if it is for show, on us.

We could have fun and blame it on the great diplomatic skills of this administration, but these patrols happened long before Biden showed us his wisdom. The more likely reason is the same that so enthused all those other countries run by thugs that our MSM so loved to point out were ecstatic about an Obama presidency - as if it were a good thing – while he was running: they saw him as bad for America, and thus god for them. Simply put: they see the US run by Obama as weak, and these stunts, while really meaningless militarily, serve the purpose of both showing our weakness, and propping up the tyrants at home with the people that still hate America, despite the Obama election. The thing is that this emboldens the lot of them to do more of the same. But no love still…

They have a plan…

While many idiots in the West keep blaming Bush for the current state of the world - after all, many of them firmly believe that he also planned, ordered, or participated in the planning & execution of the 9-11 attacks, with help from the evil Jews, the Illuminati, or whatever other conspiracy group you can think of to add to the list of nefarious entities involved, and even was responsible, directly or indirectly, for secretly and completely unnoticed, wiring the WTC and nearby buildings with demolition explosives to bring them down – some of use remain cognizant to the fact that this war was declared by the other side and ignored by us for decades. In fact, a little research can net you the plan. And there is definitely a plan, and it involves us all slamming our heads into the ground with our arses up in the air while facing towards Mecca.

The left in particular likes to tell us how this war is not winnable by the use of force, but they forget the crucial fact that the enemy is convinced that they will win it exactly that way. Our reluctance to really fight back is also a key component of the plan. Terrorism is simply phase one of the plan. The ultimate goal is, and has always been, the creation of the Islamic Caliphate first – and for that they need the West, but especially the US, out of the Middle East so they can take down the current governments and take over control of things – and the conquest of the rest of the world next. Everyone will bow to Allah, pay Islam tribute and be second class citizens, or die. Jews will be in the latter category as will most Americans. In reality this boils down to some radical nuts that think they should be the ones telling everyone how to live, deciding who gets to live and not, and using religion to achieve that goal. This is no different that what the Nazi/fascist or communist/collectivist movement did when they were ascendant. Treating the threat from Islam like a minor nuisance therefore is dangerous. It is no coincidence that these Islamo-fascists pick up right where the Nazis and the USSR left things off.

Like the Nazis and the USSR found out, reality has a harsh way of busting even the most well laid out plans of world conquest and domination. However, the point needs to be kept in mind that the cost is always very high. Especially when we try at all costs to limit either the cost or the unavoidable fighting up front. We might want peace, but the enemy wants us bowing to them. That’s an irreconcilable difference. There is no middle ground or negotiation that will get us past this point. We better wake up to that reality.

Double standard?

Why is Abdullah now demanding Obama impose a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli problem? I guess he saw weakness, or at least a president that is willing to screw over Israel, in that Cairo speech. I don’t get it.

RIYADH (Reuters) - King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has urged U.S. President Barack Obama to impose a solution on the festering Arab-Israeli conflict if necessary, a Saudi newspaper said on Sunday. Saudi Arabia and other Arab states want Obama to get tough with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who has balked at Palestinian statehood and defied U.S. calls to halt the expansion of Jewish settlements. King Abdullah told Obama during his visit to Riyadh last week that Arab patience was wearing thin and that a solution of the Arab-Israeli conflict would be the “magic key” to all issues in the region, al-Hayat said, quoting what it called informed sources.

I guess the question to ask Abdullah is why he, and I know he was not king then, didn’t speak up and demand the Palestinians take the solution offered them back when Bill Clinton was president. Besides, as long as the Palestinians are hold to the belief they have a duty and right to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, I think Israelis would be off their rockers to allow these monsters the legitimacy of a nation. Not unless the Israelis can then hold that nation responsible for the acts of its citizens.

Former marxists see our fall into marxism..

How ironically sad that after Ronald Reagan proved the leftist twits that rooted for the USSR to win wrong and brought that abomination down, is it to see what once was a mouthpiece of that evil empire pointing out how fast America is going marxist:

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people. True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists. Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

We are basically getting scolded by former collectivists about how stupid we are to follow down the same path to disaster as they once did. And how do they tell us our downfall is at hand?

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

The messiah from the left. Me, I am worried the Zimbabwe comparison is more likely. And before the usual collectivist accusations of racism are bandied in hopes of silencing those pointing out the facts, let me say that I chose Zimbabwe, not because the idiot destroying our country’s skin is black, but because he is doing the same shit Mugabe did and does: he is stealing the wealth from the rightful owners, and giving it all to his cronies as payback for their support. This Marxist crap has never worked anywhere ever. I wonder why people think it will work here in the US. I hope there is a mythical “John Connor” like character to lead us out of the devastation soon to come.

Some good news for us..

Anybody that has read my stuff regularly should by know that I consider democrats in power national security hazards. The current crop of defense spending hating collectivist idiots (why is defense spending which creates and supports some well paying high tech & high skills jobs which bring in a ton of tax money to the government bad while handouts to people that sit on their ass and make more children doomed to the welfare cycle good, I don’t know) tried its best to stop the technology that would allow us to do this, and if it was up to them we wouldn’t be able to defend ourselves from a bunch of yahoos. So it is nice to finally get some good news, even though I suspect that the current clique of collectivist twits running the country will find a way to turn it against us: The Indians have figured out Pakistan is no threat to them and that their focus needs to be on China and it’s military buildup.

May 29, 2009: Indian military leaders now consider China their major military threat, rather than Pakistan. Several different trends brought this about. First, China is modernizing their armed forces at a rapid rate. This means a navy that is capable of operating in the Indian ocean, and is obtaining bases in Myanmar and Sri Lanka, to better keep an eye on the sea lanes that supply most of the oil, and many other natural resources, needed by the booming Chinese economy.

There are many countries in Asia with a lot to lose if China becomes able to push its weight around. And have no illusion that the Chinese, unlike us (despite what the usual America hating moron says), would use their power to blatantly and truly push their own agendas and gain advantages in the Pacific and Indian Ocean areas. The Chinese leadership doesn’t worry much about appearances when they know nobody will try, or worse, can stop them. Remember Tiananmen?

So China is now a threat from all sides. India is particularly annoyed at China intruding into the waters surrounding India. It’s not called the Indian Ocean for nothing, and the Indians consider these waters sacrosanct. Chinese naval power is not welcome.

Anyway, nobody has as much to lose with a China that’s pushing its weight around Asia, and especially in the Indian Ocean, as India does. So it is good, not just for them, or the US, but for all other Asian countries worried about China rising, that the Indians have realized this stark fact, and are shifting their strategic interests to coincide with that reality.

The US should push hard to get an Asian coalition, a partnership of nations, consisting of Japan, South Korea, Australia, and India at a minimum, to guard against China’s ambitions, be they direct from China, or through its puppet: North Korea. At a minimum we should also let Japan go nuclear, to make sure the freaks running North Korea keep their stupidity in check, so China realizes it has to deal with both a nuclear India and Japan, should it go stupid. Not that I expect the current leftist twits to do anything as smart as start up the framework for any of this. After all, to them the bad guy is the US anyway.

WTF?? I thought all our troubles would vanish??

Well it looks like, for the fifth time no less, the Chinese are challenging our ships in international waters. I thought the Chinese, like every other country run by some collectivist power-hungry thug or group of thugs, would finally love us when Obama got elected. Instead they have gotten bolder than ever and are pushing us hard. Yeah I know that they are trying to prevent our ships from seeing what their subs are doing, but they Chinese Navy building efforts of the last 2 decades has been directed at drastically reducing the effectiveness of the US Navy specifically. You do not do that sort of thing without a reason. And China has gotten bolder ever since Obama, whom the Chinese and many other thugocracies across the globe rooted for, got into the WH. As many of us suspected, they did so, not because Obama was a good guy, but because they knew he was bad for America and American interests.

What they do not want you to know?..

The left has seized on some memos Obama allowed to be declassified to again take on their accusations of war crimes, torture, and the usual other BDS bull that comes with all that, but there is a lot more to this story than what they want you to hear.

WASHINGTON - President Obama’s national intelligence director told colleagues in a private memo last week that the harsh interrogation techniques banned by the White House did produce significant information that helped the nation in its struggle with terrorists.

“High value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qa’ida organization that was attacking this country,” Adm. Dennis C. Blair, the intelligence director, wrote in a memo to his staff last Thursday.

Admiral Blair sent his memo on the same day the administration publicly released secret Bush administration legal memos authorizing the use of interrogation methods that the Obama White House has deemed to be illegal torture. Among other things, the Bush administration memos revealed that two captured Qaeda operatives were subjected to a form of near-drowning known as waterboarding a total of 266 times.

The Obama Administration only released memos about the various interogation practices, and I am sure they limited it to the crap that the left has been hoping to get to restart their crusade against the people that actually kept us safe from another attack, but not the memos about what these interrogations yielded intelligence wise. That’s not a chance thing. It was on purpose. And the timing of this release is also suspect. What are they trying to deflect attention from? And why the effort to hide the valuable intell we obtained from these interrogations? There is something that does not pass the smell test in this entire release.

And Obama claiming his people will not do what it takes to get the intell to protect Americans should not be forgotten. When the next attack comes, and at this rate it will be soon, I and other Americans will blame Obama for it. He is the one that ordered the changes that drastically reduced our capabilities to find out what was happening. Who knows, maybe this is happening because of the many snafus and gaffes by the Obama people. WHen people start asking why Obama always smiles at the bad guys, you know something is going on.

UPDATE: And now it is obvious that the heat is on!

A Democratic strategist close to the White House said: “The president looked resolute, and like he had threaded the needle perfectly on the substance: The heat from the right was preposterous, and the heat from the left was manageable. But now they look like the scarecrow, pointing in both directions. They got the policy right, but they look confused and beaten down by critics.”

Anyone expect an operative to claim otherwise? The president got caught in the web of lies the WH tried to spin on this issue - they tried to play it both ways and it blew up in their face - and he is looking anything but resolute or in command. He is looking like he has ordered the legion of propagandists to do damage control ASAP.

Obama also shifted course Tuesday on another politically delicate issue: whether to create a blue-ribbon panel to investigate alleged anti-terror excesses from the Bush era. “If and when there needs to be a further accounting of what took place during this period, I think for Congress to examine ways that it can be done in a bipartisan fashion….to the extent that there are independent participants who are above reproach and have credibility, that would probably be a more sensible approach to take,” the president said. The comment represented a swerve from the line he and other aides had taken since before his inauguration in January, consistently dismissing questions about a so-called truth commission by referring to the new president’s desire to “look forwards not backwards.”

Yeah, he sure looks like he is in control, what with straddling both sides of the fence and all. In either case the moonbats sure have gotten excited about the possibility that their fantasies about going after Bush & Chaney will now happen. While I am sure the Obama people would if they thought they could, reality still shows no chance of this happening.

In fact, legal experts say there is virtually no chance that top officials will ever face prosecution for their decisions on the interrogation program some have described as torture.

Guess the moonbats will be disappointed again. Keeps them good and angry though. Candidates for a heart attack. Good population control I guess.

This will sure work…

Well, talking though, as I predicted, has not worked worth squat. So now the talking heads have decided that they will kiss ass more and hope for the best. I mean, this stuff works so much better with thug governments! Look at how well talking nice to the North Koreans has worked out for us! It is no coincidence these dangerous rogue nations are doing this on a democrats watch. It is the same reason they where rooting for democrats to win big in the last election.

At this point I am convinced that the mad men running Iran will only be stopped by an Israeli attack. Short of that they will get a nuke, blackmail the flow of oil for a while, and make a killing while plunging the world into an even deeper economic hole, then actually use it. But the democrats will make sure Bush is blamed....

Mark my words: this move is going to hurt us.

Aviation Week has a great blog article discussing the current cancellation of F-22 production and serious delay of the F-35 production schedule by SecDef Gates.

It’s official: The USAF did want more F-22s and considered a 180-some force to be a high risk approach, but after the Defense Department provided the service with a new assessment of future wars, the USAF changed its mind. That’s what the service’s top leaders say in a signed piece in this morning’s Washington Post. The most important fact about this story is that it had to be written at all. Gates said on Monday that the AF had fully supported the decision to close the F-22 line. Nobody with any great power and influence (current or retired officers, for example) has spoken against it, except for the usual suspects on the Hill. Maybe Gates is reading the all-time-record comment thread on Ares. The second important piece is here: First, based on warfighting experience over the past several years and judgments about future threats, the Defense Department is revisiting the scenarios on which the Air Force based its assessment.

So Gates basically told the AF to redo their assessment and make sure that they agreed with his desire to cut the F-22 production and delay the f-35 production? WTF? Is this guy working for China? Well no, it is obvious he is working for Obama, and according to liberals defense jobs are bad, and big government handouts to people not working at all, are good. Considering Obama is throwing trillions of dollars worth of pearls to the swine, I guess, as usual, our defense will have to suffer for the collectivists to engage in unconstitutional vote buying. Why can’t these idiots see that these jobs tend to be taken by people that help out America’s innovation and pay a ton of taxes? Have no doubt that the problem is the left’s aversion to anything involving America’s ability to remain strong, but more importantly, to fight wars. I know liberals believe that if they but disarmed the US military, or seriously downgraded it’s ability to fight, they could then make them averse to conflicts. Maybe they can then blame the next republican president for sending our troops into harms way without equipment. You know like they did constantly when our troops went to Iraq while completely ignoring our troops where inadequately supplied because of Bill Clinton, whom incidentally did exactly what is happening with Obama now to our defense spending back in the 1990s.

If this disarmament crap worked Nepal would be a peaceful place and China would not have annexed it, but hey leftists tend to ignore reality for what they prefer it was like. We need these aircraft. Battlefield air superiority has been a mainstay of American military success. Waffle and risk this superiority and watch the Chinese get bold on us.

Well done!

Congratulations to our military on a great job freeing the hostage captain from his pirate captors. This was a real score for them. Congratulations to president Obama for signing off on this mission. Now lets get the ball rolling and have the US Navy start shelling these villages that house these pirates and any ships they put to sea so these people quit their pirating for good. Nothing deters criminals more than harsh punishment, and the best of these to prevent recidivism is death.

Here comes another Dark Age

It is a fact, ignored, glossed over, or refuted only by moronic collectivism embracing idiots that our modern Western world, our very freedoms and quality of life, exists only because of the actions of the United States over the last century. Ask people living in people’s paradises like Cuba or even our neighbors to the south, just to name a couple of places quick and off the top of my head, if you do not believe me. This fact of course pisses off all the people actively rewriting history these days to make America and American interests look bad. If America is an empire, it then truly is the greatest and most beneficial empire ever to have graced this globe. Can anyone imagine, and do so realistically and based on true history, not the pap that these collectivists pass off as history these days, what this planet would look like with out te US? The world would be split between communists and fascists at a minimum. People everywhere would live in misery and under oppression. But according to the collectivists at least they would all have a “level playing field” (equal misery for all!), free healthcare (even when there is none to speak off because there are massive shortages of supplies and skilled healthcare people), free education (more like indoctrination, but its free!), and that’s what counts. Don’t you just take my word for it. Check out what these geniuses have to say:

Film director Ron Howard is “very optimistic” about the future of America, so long as the nation makes an “adjustment,” to fulfill his hope a “more progressive” nation will mean “at a certain point I don’t think we’ll be so consumed with being the pre-eminent super-power and, you know, driven by sort of militarism and this need to export, you know, democracy.” Howard’s reasoning, on Friday night’s Real Time with Bill Maher, came in response to Maher’s formulation that America has “seen better days. We’re sort of in place that has made a lot of people nervous. Some people would say this country has jumped the shark.”

Yeah, that’s worked real well for the world. Now we have pirates telling us they are not afraid of us. Maybe the world would be better off if China was the super power. At least these pirates would be dealt with, shot on sight, their camps bombed, their efforts squashed, they would be driven before the troops, the women and children lamenting the fate of the idiots. My bet is that if Iran was doing this to China, well. Forget it. Iran would never have gotten here. The Chinese would have glassed Iran as soon as the mad man in charge had uttered his first threat. We would all be living in places like this run by people like this. But hey, America is the real villain, because evil capitalism and the American way does not level the playing field! Can one say greed, envy, and jealousy are the prime motivators here? I have already onc eposted on this “level playing field” issue on a blog post over at Right Wing News:

Wow. I am wicked late to this conversation, but I had to comment on the discussion about “level playing field”. Nobody ever can level the playing field, and anyone trying to do so is involved in not only a cynical exercise in futility, but likely knows so. In fact the liberal politicians all give lip service to this “level the playing filed” belief because they know it gives them perpetual power (they get to decide who needs their field leveled, why, and how often).

The fact is that the field can never be leveled. Even if we where able to miraculously level the playing field, lets say we redistributed the entire world’s resources equally across all its people, I guarantee you that things would be different a week from now. The same people that have more today will again have more a few weeks from now, while life’s losers will return to that, some sooner than later. Life is not fair. As was pointed out, despite the bull, and while we all have the same rights, there are always differences. Some people are smarter than others. Some are more industrious. Others simply have a work ethic, while some do not. Some people will wisely invest their money, while some will spend it all on hookers, booze and/or drugs, and a big new Cadillac. What then? Do we reset again?

There is no way to create or guarantee any kind of a level playing field, ever. Too many variables, and the requirement that a perfect and totally unbiased arbiter keep score, make it impossible. And that’s why every attempt to create one, no matter how well intended or noble, indubitably levels the playing field by dragging everyone down into misery. From the USSR to North Korea to Cuba, and everything else in between, the only level playing field is where everyone ends up poor and miserable. Because that’s the only and simple way to level the playing field.

It is not a mistake or coincidence that the very people demanding a level playing field tend to be the ones that, no matter how many chances they are given, end up at the bottom of the rung. It is also not a coincidence that there are so many of them. It is always easier to let others do the work for you. It is also a given that when these people take over and get their way societies eventually implode. Some do it in decades. Some may take a couple of centuries. But this model is unsustainable. And the public school system is the best example of this. Ability, dedication, parental involvement, human nature, all combine to determine the outcome. In fact one could make the argument that today the public school system guarantees a skewed system because it serves politicians, unions, and teachers, not the students or America. No matter how noble or great someone claims this idea of a leveled playing field is, in the end it is a mythological entity. And there will never be anyone that will get it to work. Said being would have to be divine, and God, if you want to believe in a higher power, has already told us that he didn’t want that job when we got free will.

That’s why I so seriously oppose this crap. And it is crap, no matter how palatable the people selling it make it sound, plain and simple. Especially when the left preaches about it, but never tells the people that the only level playing field they can deliver, the one they have delivered every time they have tried, everywhere they have tried, is one where we are all poor, miserable, and oppressed slaves of the elite leveling the field. Color me stupid for actually thinking that the left lying this way is actually more evil than someone that actually tells you he intends to abuse and oppress you. At least the later one is being honest.

There is no way to dispute this obvious fact. The people engaging in this hyperbole and wishing America was no longer a super power, because they feel that’s why the world is such a bad place, and that democracy and the American way where not follwed, are simply idiots. They will all claim to be “positive” and have “hope”, fantasizing about a better future. Logic, facts, reason, and accurate historical analogies will never be part of their progressive vision. That’s on purpose. If they actually were forced to base their beliefs on reality and not fantasy, they would have to abandon the idiocy they preach. The people wishing for the American age to come to pass should be taken to task. The world they envision when this happens is a great lie. When America no longer leads we will again be plunged into a Dark Age. And that Dark Age is coming faster than you think off.
