How quickly they soured us on their ideology, huh?

On November 5th, 2008 the smug liberals told us that they had finally crushed the idiotic and evil machine, that the American people had spoken, and that collectivism was the wave of the future. Unlike their reactions in 2000 - where they simply decided to ignore reality and created the twisted notion in their even more twisted minds that the one that stole the election was Bush & the SCOTUS, and not Gore with his army of lawyers and the Florida Supremes – which started the liberal slide into illogical insanity, and 2004, where they were dejected to see the country simply not trust that buffoon John Kerry, and driven even further into the wilderness, they could not wait to get out and rub salt into the wounds of the opposition. We were told that the world was finally saved, that other countries would finally love us again, the economy would be fixed, that evil America would stop torturing people and inflict war on poor people whose only crime was that they were brown, everyone would magically be working according to their ability, and get back according to their needs, and Utopia would follow. Cats and dogs would start living together! Oh wait, that was Bill Murray’s character in Ghost Busters, but you get the point. They laid it on thick.

We were promised decades of liberal rule for the evils of the capitalist right. Many of us that experienced the Carter years and knew better, told them that the gloat was not just premature, but that once the American people got a taste of the insanity that’s part & parcel of the left’s ideology and governing, that they would sour on it, and sour on it fast. So it isn’t a surprise to me to discover that just 2 years into their reign of fire that Americans now trust the GOP more on almost all election issues, as the below graph clearly shows.

image

I and many others weren’t fooled for a second by Obama and the demcorats sweet talking and promises of “Hope & Change” – as I said I remember the Carter years, and to anyone that was paying real attention the left’s ideological shift was so drastic it compared to Carter idiocy redux on steroids - that these people could do anything but set us back. The GOP might have been bad at these things when they had power, but the demcorats, especially the current crop of elitist bastards and crooks, make the GOP losers look damned awesome. And the shift took just 2 years of liberal policy & rule to happen.

No, this is not me gloating. I remain quite aware that the GOP will now actually have to do what the American people want, or they too will face our wrath, and then sooner than later. It might surprise you that am actually looking forward to that, though. I seriously believe that if the GOP, once they have power, doesn’t derail this collectivist behemoth that is driving us at Warp speed into the abyss, reverses course of this out of control spending and lunacy, and lets the American people down yet again, that they will be gone too. The one thing I do know is that the American people, now that they know what they will get under democrat rule, the disastrous policies and last 2 years will still be fresh in their minds, will not go back to the demcorats. At least not the sane ones. And while I expect the left to revert to the same tired tactics of the 8 tiresome Bush years, I doubt the American people will buy either the propaganda or the obstructionist anti-Americanism. It will be their Armageddon if they do so. We might even end up with a third party finally breaking the deadlock that elephants and donkeys have had on our government, and even might be set back on the path of exceptionally when they finally gut that bureaucratic monster that pretends to be serving our needs while really enslaving us to its ever growing appetite for control and power.

Tonight’s speech by Obama on Iraq…

Tonight President Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech about the whole Iraq situation. Frankly I am intrigued at how the morons in the WH will try to play this. It seems all bad things they inherited from Bush, but this victory that clearly came from the efforts of our troops that these same grandstanding demcorats put in harms way with their actions and words, and the conviction of President Bush to fight it despite the fact that the opposition was trying to hand our troops another Vietnam-like loss - if you believe the talking heads that are predicting this - that the WH is going to claim is theirs. I doubt Obama will give credit to Bush for this, because that’s not his way. If he does, he will somewhere in there take it back and blame Bush. Maybe by indirectly brining up the liberal meme that Bush faked the intel, red meat for the morons that buy this crap, or some such other nonsense. I certainly hope he credits the troops. And of course he will play to his left wing moonbats and claim he is keeping his promise. The problem is that it will be all show, and we won despite of him and his party, while there is still a risk that we might be pulling out too soon.

The fact is that Obama was part & parcel of the donkey lineup that made the claim back when Bush’s team announced they would pursue the surge option, that it was going to fail. I do give him credit for not declaring it a failure before it happened like Reed did, or for slandering our troops or taking other actions to help the enemy’s cause like Murtha and other demcorats did, but Obama was one of the people that tried - real hard - to derail any and all efforts intended to support our troops and give them what they needed to win in Iraq. Obama made it a point during his campaigning – I mean before the election, not the continued campaigning they are doing almost 2 years after taking the WH and that is making everyone stop wondering if these morons know anything else – to say Iraq was still a failure, and that unless he was elected to fix it by pulling out the troops, things would get even worse. In short, this guy, while not going as far as many in his party have, was if not outright rooting for us to lose in Iraq, at least vested in making our efforts in Iraq look & go bad, for political and personal gain. And the troops at least seem to know that. Of course, I doubt the Lame Stream Media will bring any of that up.

Even more interesting, as I already pointed out, is the fact that most believe that Obama is about to likely claim he kept his campaign promise and that this withdrawal is due his work, when there is no doubt for anyone willing to do the leg work that the pullout going on right now was following Bush’s team’s withdrawal time table, set a long time ago, and the only contribution from the Obama team was that they didn’t fuck it all up in Iraq and pull defeat right out of the jaws of victory before now, as many of us suspected they would. My guess is that the LSM would go right along and hand him that credit. After all, he is their guy, and he desperately needs to be propped up, because the mood of the American people after seeing Obama & the progressive left in action these past 2 years is dour indeed, and November promises a massacre at the polls for the left.

Then you have the fact that Obama now is ramping up the fighting in Afghanistan, which promises to be a difficult and costly slugfest. I wonder if he and his team realize now why Bush’s team moved the fight to Iraq back in 2003. And this whole endeavor seems to be mired in doubt, what with all the talk of a fixed withdrawal table and all, despite the fact he has put General Petraeus whom immediately opted to go on the offensive and actually do some killin’ – hear much about that in the LSM these days? No stories of US troops murdering babies either, huh? - in charge of that operation as well. And then there is of course Iran, which I still feel Bush made a mistake not to deal with at the same time as they took on Iraq.

Say what you want, but tonight’s speech should be interesting. At least it should provide people with a lot to waste time on. Me, I bet it will be a lot of nothing, Obama grandstanding and campaigning, taking credit for other people’s work, blaming Bush as usual for his mistakes, and then the fawning LSM telling us how lucky we are to have this guy in charge. I sure hope I am wrong.

Heavy handed attempt to put lipstick on the ugliest pig ever…

The usual Lame Stream Media propagandists must be desperate to try and defend the close to $1 trillion dollar stimulus patronage bill known as the “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009” as this desperate and transparently vain attempt by Time tries to make this pig pretty proves.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 — President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus — has been marketed as a jobs bill, and that’s how it’s been judged. The White House says it has saved or created about 3 million jobs, helping avoid a depression and end a recession. Republicans mock it as a Big Government boondoggle that has failed to prevent rampant unemployment despite a massive expansion of the deficit. Liberals complain that it wasn’t massive enough.

What a pile of bullshit! Jobs bill? Yeah right! Sure the WH tries hard to make the case for that. But they were immediately shot down even by their own side when they originally claimed to have created 640K jobs after spending $150 billion - an unbelievably ridiculous cost of $234,375 per job according to my calculator – as the unemployment rate continued to skyrocket and the real number of people giving up looking for jobs, without jobs, or wanting full time jobs but unable to get them, according to even the MSM which tries hard to pretend the numbers are not into double digits, climbed to over 16%. An astonishing 4 million people have lost their jobs! Even the MSM had to admit that the WH was pulling numbers out of its ass once the CBO admitted there was no way to measure what a saved job was to begin with. In fact, the only real predictor of what jobs were “saved” are the same ones that this years multi-billion dollar bailout is trying to save again. Want to bet they have to shell out billions again to “save” these jobs yet again? It isn’t a coincidence that public sector pay is higher than private sector pay considering what jobs this bill was intended to save.

Next we see that in typical liberal fashion, these Lame Stream Media mouthpieces are again repeating the already debunked WH claim that this thing created 3 million jobs. Doesn’t matter how often you point out this claim is false, they won’t let facts, logic, or truth get in the way of the agenda.  I won’t even go into how laughable the comments that this bill prevented a depression and reversed the recession are – maybe these morons could have quoted Biden and his “Summer of Recovery” comedy routine to lend credence to this nonsense- because the only thing to do to people that make these claims is to make fun of them. That’s why conservatives mock the patronage bill and its supporters. And it isn’t a coincidence that liberals are stupid enough to claim that the problem was that this boondoggle that was bigger than the entire cost of the Iraq war was not big enough, but I won’t bother going into that dementia. Anyway, let’s get back to this idiotic puff piece.

It’s an interesting debate. Politically, it’s awkward to argue that things would have been even worse without the stimulus, even though that’s what most nonpartisan economists believe. But the battle over the Recovery Act’s short-term rescue has obscured its more enduring mission: a long-term push to change the country. It was about jobs, sure, but also about fighting oil addiction and global warming, transforming health care and education, and building a competitive 21st century economy. Some Republicans have called it an under-the-radar scramble to advance Obama’s agenda — and they’ve got a point.

Read that first line again. Nonpartisan economists? That’s liberal code for Keynesian morons that think like us despite the mountain of evidence that this idiotic concept that government deficit spending like it was the “End of times” never works. See, in the mind of these deluded fools, anyone that doesn’t think like them is partisan. Sane people predicted this pay-off to demcorat interests, lobbyists, union bosses, and campaign coffers wasn’t going to stimulate anything but the democrat machine, and they are correct. To the collectivist twits that think Obama is the savior, the lies to cover up for the destruction of our economy, must continue I guess. It’s just nonsense.

But then we finally get some truth, after that dumb claim of nonpartisan economists thinking this near trillion dollar waste of tax payer money did anything good, albeit by coincidence, and then by coincidence because the moron writing this fluff piece hopes nobody catches it, and learn that this bill was not intended to do any kind of economic recovery, but to, and this is their own words, change the country. And what change is that? Well to transform the economy! Great, whenever you hear that from a collectivist, grab your wallet and your gun, because what’s coming is going to hurt decent people. So transform it how? Let’s look at this stuff.

Let us start with the thing that should set off everybody’s alarms. Healthcare? I had no idea this was in that stimulus package? Did you? Why did we need any kind of stimulus of healthcare? Wasn’t it Obama’s plan to reform the whole thing? Di we not just get a bill Congress admits it didn’t read get passed? You know, the one we find out claims to save money – when it doesn’t at all – because of a myriad of schemes and scams that hide the real costs? From heavily taxing us for 10 years to then only provide coverage during the last 5 or 6 years, in order to hide the fact that the real cost, and I firmly believe this number is a rosy and way to low prediction based on past experiences with similar government programs, is close to $2.3 trillion, to sleights of hand that double count money from Medicare and other places you are darn sure these collectivists will never take anything significant, this monster bill is a sure fire recipe for bankrupting this country.

But I digress, so what kind of healthcare deals were in that patronage bill? Well, if you read along you find out they flushed down $20 billion to create a national healthcare database. To bring us into the modern age they claim. If this stuff was such a good deal I wonder why some evil capitalists didn’t latch on to the concept and make a killing from it, but then again, we all know that to the left the only entity that is as all knowing, powerful, fair, and capable as a divine entity these days is big government. It’s not a coincidence that the left abandoned old religion in favor of this new one. Me, I predict nothing good comes from this whole deal. At least some nice connected companies run by buddies of the demcorats will make a killing collecting these $20 billion. Let’s hope they are the few that also think they aren’t above the laws they make for us peasants and pay taxes unlike the majority of the lot.

He also touts the fact money is targeted at education. Read along and you find out that some $4.35 billion is supposed to go to promote accountability in schools. Considering how the schools that already get the most per pupil money also seem to do so well and that we already send way too much on average to get below mediocre results, one might be inclined to think this is a blessing. I guess if you consider creating little indoctrinated collectivists the equivalent of an education, then you have something to be excited about. The rest of us that know better, considering who is running this freak show, know that we are just throwing more pearls at swines. These people love to talk about education when their policies, agenda, and efforts have been paramount in destroying our educational system. The teacher unions would never allow accountability to factor into their tenure equation.

There are a bunch of other nonstarters he discusses as part of his great society 21st century economy, like expanded broadband – because we all know that companies that make their living there have no interest in doing so and making more money – and the laughable mention of the 100,000 projects that are supposed to be upgrading infrastructure of all kind but for which I only s far have heard stories of expensive signs going up everywhere claiming there was work going on when nothing was really being done. Shit, if there was any truth t this the construction industry alone would have been booming, but my buddies in the construction industry tell me it has been exactly the opposite. And those tax cuts he mentions 95% of Americans got? I would love to know what they were. I must be one of those in that 5% that saw nothing of that. Besides, if they really had wanted to jump start the economy, they should have simply made the Bush cuts permanent. I bet you things would be different – in a good way for the economy - right now. Yeah, I am wasting time explaining how the real world works to people that think government is what drives and no hampers economic growth, but you can’t blame a guy for trying. Anyway, this tuff is much ado about nothing. It boils down to pay-offs t demcorat interests and nothing more. It’s not an accident that this stuff has done absolutely nothing to help the economy in ay real way. And all that uneamployment extension and other government handouts would not be necessary if they had gotten out of the way of the private sector instead of smothering it with idiotic regulations and insecurity at every turn. Ask an unemployed person if they prefer a government handout or a paying job, and all but the usual lazy libs will pake the later.

And that brings us to the rest of the crap he spends pages on and the real agenda: the left’s obsession with expanding the global government scam perpetrated by the AGW cult, fight that evil global warming despite the fact it is obvious that a massive campaign of lies and fabrications was used to try and convince the masses to give up their freedoms and wealth by blaming man without any real proof, and of course, the irrational hate of oil that these leftists seem to have. I can rehash this whole story about what the AGW cult is all about and we can have the same arguments with the same people that want to pretend that they were not caught lying and making up crap, but I have no desire to waste my time with them. Suffice it to say this moron yet again lets the cat out of the bag and admit that these demcorats took a billions of tax payer dollars – money they borrowed and for which we will be paying massive interests BTW - to then use it to help a cause that will drastically harm these very tax payers, at the expense of these elitist scum in charge and their freedom destroying agenda. Nice change I guess, but not being insane, and knowing how well these collectivist experiments always turn out, I think I want to pass.

There isn’t enough lipstick in the universe to paint this pig as anything but what it is, and while this crap might make collectivists happy, in the end it has done nothing but hurt the American economy and tax payer. Green jobs and a green economy are acronyms for serfdom at the hands of an all powerful government that controls us by controlling our access to energy. Given the choice I would have actually preferred not to spend the money, and if we had to still do so, I would have preferred that they had paid off some of our debt. Shit, even spending it on another war might have been economically less destructive IMO. Hat last bit was just t piss off the lefty idiots that still blame the Iraq war for the massive deficit spending. A cheap shot, but a deserved one. Considering how much of my tax dollars they wasted with this boondoggle, I feel have a right to that. No wonder that moron Biden is excited. Sheesh!

The numbers don’t add up…

I just got back from a week of vacation where I played US government - I spent way too much money on feel good stuff that yield no actual benefits - and am now because of the time off, busier than a one legged man at an arse kicking contest now at work. But I felt I had to address something that came up during a conversation I had, with a bunch of obvious liberal morons defending the disastrous collectivist policies of the last decade that have reached new limits under demcorat and Obama control, when they blamed Bush and the Iraqi war for anything from $3-$5 trillion in deficits spending. The numbers widely varied apparently even for them, but I was stumped as to why they would be pulling these ridiculous numbers up until I realized the left still wants to make believe that the deficit spending is because of the Iraq wars and defense spending, and not because of the massive growth in wasteful collectivist spending by government.

And lo and behold, it seems that the CBO in this document provides the needed information to break down the facts, and thus, like a someone using a holy symbol or water on a vampire, cause the liberal morons pushing this idiotic meme to scramble for cover. See according to the CBO, the Iraqi war, which I might point out ended in a win just this past week when, on paper at least, the last combat unit left the country, and I must say despite the efforts of so many on the left to force a loss, cost some $709 billion dollars for the duration. In fact, one quick look at the details in the above mentioned document and the numbers in these other CBO documents provides everything needed to create a real nice picture to illustrate the deficit spending from 2003 to this year. A must for your typical factually challenged leftard to see:

image

The telling numbers, other than the fact that any deficit spending attributed to the cost of the Iraq war are small at best, and all things considered insignificant in the overall deficit spending picture, are the numbers for the last 2 years, where deficit spending skyrocketed. The numbers don’t lie. The total deficits from 2003 through 2010 is $4.73 trillion. Subtract the entire Iraq War cost - $706 billion according to the CBO - and you still have the unbelievable sum of $4.02 trillion to account for!

Your average and predictable lib will then just move the goal post, like the people I was talking to did, and tell you that the massive increase of deficit spending since Obama took office and the demcorats ended up in complete control of both the White House and Congress, was to fix all the stuff the Bush broke. Including the trillions wasted on what they feel was a stupid war in Iraq, despite the fact that those numbers are bullshit.

Let’s just forget the illogic in trying to blame the cost of the war for the deficit when anyone willing to do the research, as I showed, can quickly find out that the economic crisis was a product of a combination of idiotic government mandated lending practices and the subsequent need for a massive scam, centered on Fannie and Freddie, to make the stinking heap of bad loans palatable to investors. While Wall Street also should share in the blame, their fault lies with going along with these stupid collectivist policies instead of shutting down the spigot and letting government choke on these idiotic anti-market and anti-reality policies.

Of course, as soon as I pointed the above out, the factually challenged libs I was talking to switched to the other two booggie-boos often touted, Afghanistan and the Bush tax cuts, as the culprits. Unfortunately for them, the numbers in this graph clearly show these two also seem to have really made no big impact on deficit spending, as the numbers for 2003 to 2007 when both were going on show, while not even adding up to the deficit spending for either 2009 or 2010. There is simply no denying that spending went bonkers after 2007, and we all know what happened in 2006, and 2008, respectively. And Bush was long gone when the donkey decided to flush close to $1 trillion – more than the $706 billion for the 7 year old Iraqi war- down the toilet in that patronage bill that served to only pay off demcorat interests and keep public servants living large while the private sector was hammered by the economic policies and regulations of these collectivists.

In fact, there are several social program outlays during the Bush years that far exceed the cost of the Iraqi war during the same period. Federal outlays on defense as a percentage of GDP under Bush were 4%. And one might be inclined to think higher defense spending numbers might be a good thing when you compare to the roaring 60s and 70s when defense spending was closer to 9% of GDP and the economy was booming to the anemic and moribund economy we now have the pleasure of enduring because of the defense hating collectivist running the country. Numbers, facts, and logic make the lib’s weak and emotion based arguments about what really is causing our massive deficits easy to defeat.

Suffice it to say that when I was done pointing out the real numbers to them, these libs all hated my guts for making them look like idiots. I am certain they also completely ignored the facts I showed them and like the politicians that represent them, will continue to run the same tired lines, hoping to fool as many as possible. After all, way too many people don’t have the time to go figure the truth out, and the Lame Stream Media will certainly not do so for them either, so they can get away with these lies. In the mean time, we will never address the real issue while these people can so freely fabricate the history they want to suit their own disruptive and destructive goals.

We are here today because collectivists refuse to accept the fact that there isn’t enough wealth in the world to give everyone everything for free. Consequently what we end up with when we let their economic and social policies run wild is what they had in the USSR: everyone equally miserable and poor. But to these social justice idiots, that’s better than having some guy that works hard get rich while they don’t.

Yeah, I am rubbing it in…

One of the more interesting stories to go on this week, and obviously completely ignored or misreported on by the Lame Stream Media, is the story of Omar Khadr, a terrorist that was captured in Afghanistan at the age of 15, and whom had murdered a US Special Forces servicemen with a grenade, amongst other things. This kid, now 23, was a media darling, and even juicier, one of the many cases of “inhumane treatment and torture” the left accused the Bush Administration and our servicemen of being involved with at Gitmo. Even now they are haranguing the Obama administration for the fact this poor an innocent torture victim ended up in a military tribunal!

Yep, this week Omar Khadr’s trial, a military one and not the much promised civilian ones from the campaign trail, started. Funny that. Evil Bush was demonized for holding military tribunals and the evils of Gitmo. Obama ran and won on evil Bush, and especially the wars we were fighting in 2008, and yet today we have Obama not just continuing those, but expanding them. Oh yeah, before the usual libtard brings it up, let me point out that you should not be fooled by the claims Obama is pulling troops out of Iraq. First off, this isn’t Obama’s doing because his pullout was part of the Bush Administration’s time table, and we are leaving some 50K troops behind. And we all know Obama, to his credit, has stepped stuff up in Afghanistan. Even more telling is the fact that Gitmo is still open and in business. Guess being a bunch of holier-than-thou leftist twits that accused the Bush Administration of being an evil bunch of torturers that only concocted Club Gitmo to avoid scrutiny and be able to torture at their leisure and demanded/promised its closure, completely ignoring the reality on the ground, suddenly isn’t so easy when you have to deal with the problems, huh libtards?

And now that we are on the subject of Gitmo and torture, let me give you a piece of information I doubt you will get from the MSM. Remember those torture charges filed by the usual scumbag lawyers – no, these lawyers aren’t just doing their jobs, they want to screw over the US and are hoping to demonize our troops and country, so they are scumbags - defending these evil bastards? Well, the attempt to use them to suppress Khadr’s confession because they were obtained through torture have they have been summarily dismissed:

The decision by army Colonel Patrick Parrish came shortly after Mr. Khadr pleaded not guilty through his Pentagon-appointed defence lawyer to the five war crimes charges he faces. The ruling is a major blow to Mr. Khadr, who claimed in a February 2008 affidavit he was abused during interrogations after his capture at the end of a 2002 firefight with U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. The judge ruled a video apparently showing the suspect making and planting land mines is admissible, rejecting the defence argument it was obtained based on information coerced from him.

Oh the evil military judge screwed Khadr over! Well, no, because the video is damning:

In a video shown at the hearing yesterday, Mr. Khadr was seen telling Guantanamo Bay guards trying to weigh him for the International Red Cross “God will take ... revenge” on the United States. “I am here in prison, but there are millions of people outside,” he says in the May 2006 clip. “What’s happening to you is not for nothing.” In the February 2008 affidavit, Mr. Khadr, 23, alleged guards mistreated him during the weighing session, claiming they “pressed on my pressure points.”

The clip appears to show the guards acting with restraint as they push him toward the scale and point out all his “brothers”—a reference to other detainees—had been weighed without protest. “Come on man, it’s not that bad,” says one after Mr. Khadr claimed the treatment was a “very small example of what’s really going on” at the facility. “We’re not doing this to hurt you, torture you,” adds another, amid explanations his weight was needed for his health records. Although Mr. Khadr spent about 20 minutes resisting the guards, the tape hinted he had been playing to the camera as he switched from the English he used to speak to the guards to Arabic to speak to fellow detainees in nearby cells.

So the “torture” these libtard accused our troops of committing under direction from evil Bush? Yeah, weighing this bastard - while he was threatening our troops with murder and our country with destruction - so we can have accurate medical records to please the libturds that will try to turn everything and anything into an argument about the evils of America and its military.

And surprise, surprise! This bastard is obviously been coached on how to play to the camera to help the libturds do the dirty job of helping the Jihadists and their cause. Don’t expect the left to admit they where used – my take is that it is more complicity than used despite the claims from the lot of them to the contrary – yet again, and that the facts bear out quite a different narrative than the rampant torture stories we constantly are subjected to by them, though.

What’s the odds we are going to continue to hear from the usual suspects that they are ignoring the torture or white washing it – and even more important that it is happening under Obama’s reign (are we no longer an evil empire?) – going forward, despite yet more evidence there was no torture, and that these people will rethink their stance on Gitmo or the Bush Administration’s efforts to fight a vile and evil murderous bunch? Yeah, I know. Zilch.

AGW Cultists want to tax you to pay for their scam’s survival!

This news just galls me. They got caught in a huge scam, and their answer as their cause is abandoned by sane people, is to steal more of our wealth in order to keep the machine that is intended to steal all of our wealth alive. And the energy companies and people opposed to the dogma hawked by these cultists are the ones accused of greed and nefarious motives. A pox on their house!

Laws? What laws? It’s a scam.

Have a look at what our DoJ has basically come up with in its pursuit of cash tied to civil rights lawsuits, because it is a doozie. Check this out:

The Justice Department has found a new way to pursue civil rights lawsuits, using the powers of the Civil Rights Division not just to win compensation for victims of alleged discrimination but also to direct large sums of money to activist groups that are not discrimination victims and not connected to a particular suit.

In the past, when the Civil Rights Division filed suit against, say, a bank or a landlord, alleging discrimination in lending or rentals, the cases were often settled by the defendant paying a fine to the U.S. Treasury and agreeing to put aside a sum of money to compensate the alleged discrimination victims. There was then a search for those victims—people who were actually denied a loan or an apartment—who stood to be compensated. After everyone who could be found was paid, there was often money left over. That money was returned to the defendant.

Now, Attorney General Eric Holder and Civil Rights Division chief Thomas Perez have a new plan. Any unspent money will not go back to the defendant but will instead go to a “qualified organization” approved by the Justice Department. And if there is not enough unspent money—that will be determined by the Department—then the defendant might be required to come up with more money to give to the “qualified organization.”

So the DoJ has come up with a “neat” way to increase big government’s ability to choose who will be the winners and who will be the losers. With their attempt to fool the people into allowing them to pass another trillion dollar stimulus patronage bill to funnel tons of cash to demcocrat operatives, lobbyists, agents, donors, and causes rebuffed, something like this becomes a godsend. Especially when some of these organizations now set up to benefit from this scam have been banned from getting government funds.

It also sure looks like the Obama Justice Department has come up with a new way to circumvent the pesky way Congress, even though it is now in demcorat hands and absolutely abhorred having to do so, defunded ACORN, and can now funnel cash to whatever these various pieces of ACORN – the name changed, the mission and tactics will stay the same - are called today.

Republicans are particularly concerned that the “qualified organizations” money might end up with groups that are associated with the community organizing group formerly known as ACORN. Republican lawmakers want to avoid sending federal money to groups that Congress has deemed unsuitable to receive it.

And it doesn’t stop there. There is a whole lot more that is wrong with this whole scam.

But the concerns of Republicans, and perhaps some Democrats, go beyond ACORN and other activist groups. The new Civil Rights Division tactic represents a departure from a fundamental principle of such cases, which is the pursuit of justice on behalf of actual victims. “If the Department of Justice recovers funds for alleged civil rights violations, the money should go to compensate victims or to the Treasury,” says Bob Driscoll, who was a top official in the Civil Rights Division during the first two years of the George W. Bush administration.

My bet is that the victims, real or imagined, will soon not be getting any money, as this new DoJ scam will end up just funneling as much as it can to the usual scumbags. And Bush was the one they said was running and illegal fascist government. Go figure. That’s “Hope & Change” for you in the age of Obama.

Simply Genius!

That’s Tim Geithner providing cover for the failed collectivist policies now driving the country:

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner acknowledged that it is still a “tough economy” for most Americans, and warned it’s possible the unemployment rate will go up for a couple of months before it comes down as more people enter the labor force.

“When they see a little hope that there may be jobs out there, they start to come back in again. And that can cause the measured unemployment rate to go up — temporarily,” Geithner told “Good Morning America’s” George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview. “But what we expect to see, and I think most forecasters expect this…is an economy that’s gradually healing, gradually strengthening, businesses starting to add people back.”

The economy is not rebounding as quickly as Geithner and the Obama administration would like, he said. Last week’s economic report card showed the Gross Domestic Product grew at a rate of 2.4 percent, slower than it had earlier this year. But amid that bad news, Geithner said, were signs of growth in the private sector.

Talk about your snow job. The economy is not rebounding because collectivist wishful thinking and government funneling trillions to democrat operatives, friends, donors, lobbyists, and causes, while growing fat and large, contrary to all the fantasies, is never going to create any productive jobs. Private sector jobs produce wealth because those jobs provide net revenue to the economy and government. Government jobs destroy or shuffle wealth, and then inefficiently too, as they take private sector cash and reallocate it or simply burn it up. The morons in charge right now have done a ton of burning, and their agenda is set to burn even more, far beyond the capacity of any private sector to keep up with, in the future.

Anyway back to Geithner, and the excuse making for why these collectivists in government think they should get even more of our money, and have no doubt that this is about them feeling entitled to our money and being pissed we don’t want to go along.

“If you extend all these tax cuts just for two years or so, you’re going to leave the vast bulk of Americans…with uncertainty about what the rules of the game are going to be,” Geithner said. “What we’re proposing is to extend those tax cuts for the middle class. Extend those tax cuts for small businesses. Make clear that we’re going to keep dividends and capital gains rates, the taxes that go to business, to capital investment, at a modest rate going forward. That’ll give people more certainty.”

Get that? He is talking about the economic uncertainty Congress’ refusal to take a firm stance on the Bush tax cuts that expire at the end of this year. His take is that letting the tax cuts stay in place for an undetermined term will just keep people uncertain. So instead of saying, lets make them permanent and restart the economy, his genius solution is to just let them expire already, and hammer the people with more taxes. After all, big government needs cash to keep living large & in charge, baby! Want to see some more genius?

Geithner: ‘The Business Community Always Wants Their Taxes Lower’ Before businesses begin to use the estimated $1.8 trillion they have set aside, they want a commitment that their taxes will not increase over the next two years. Geithner did not make that promise, instead saying “the business community always wants

Evil and stupid businesses want to have low taxes! Don’t they know their sole purpose, like that of the serfs, is to feed big government cash so it can farm it out to those it favors? How dare they! Profits are evil! From each according to his ability, and to each according to his needs! And government needs!

OK, enough making fun of these morons and showing the obvious flaws in their ideology. Here is the deal. These losers know they have crashed the economy. This article, for a change, didn’t simply try to blame Bush, and hope the people stayed distracted, but they are still trying to make like the reason we are where we are and heading downwards fast, still isn’t their fault. This whole “we are going to lose more jobs before we get new ones” meme, is a demanded lie. If they keep doing what they are doing we will lose the jobs alright, but they are never coming back either.

Don’t worry though! Big government will cut you a monthly check that will provide you a standard of living at what will be considered right above the new poverty line – it will be far lower than it is now too – and like the majority of people, you won’t have to worry and covet what your neighbor has, since nobody will have anything. And although they got but a short line to show it, in this MSM article, even the Cubans have figured out government can’t create wealth: just steal it. Sad times. Get ready to have more unemployment.

Leftist idiots discover the obvious..

Remember the good old days when the occupant of the WH didn’t have a (D) next to his name and the left told us that killing terrorists was only going to make more of them? Well, those days are long gone. Now we have the leftists at the NYT telling us about the new CinC Obama, his “New war” in Afghanistan, how hardcore he is because he committed 30K troops, and the knew found knowledge that the best way to deal with insurgents was to, get ready, “kill them”!

One has to wonder why these leftists only seem to be interested in accepting the way things work in the real world when their asses are on the line? Seriously, can anyone here imagine the NYT allowing anything like this to be published while Bush was president and we were really fighting the enemy? We all know that the story would be about “the innocents” massacred by our bloodthirsty and evil troops. Seriously, don’t you have to laugh when you read stuff like this:

Faced with that reality, and the pressure of a self-imposed deadline to begin withdrawing troops by July 2011, the Obama administration is starting to count more heavily on the strategy of hunting down insurgents. The shift could change the nature of the war and potentially, in the view of some officials, hasten a political settlement with the Taliban.

Faced by reality! There you have it. Now that you had to deal with the consequences of your stupid ideological beliefs, suddenly you have the guts to do away with them. It is not coincidental that in the real world the stuff the left tries the hardest to fight against or pretend doesn’t matter that actually does.  I wish this reality induced lapse of sanity on the left was more frequent an occurrence on the left. Reality has a way of shattering the idiotic illusions and fantasies of the stupid, and if they don’t learn the lesson quick, it does away with them. We need a lot more of that reality so these left, embodied these days by the demcorats, but also some RINOs, can stop destroying this country.

In the mean time, kill these stupid and evil bastards we were told for 8 years would only reproduce in numbers. I wonder why the NYT didn’t comment on that shattered leftists meme, huh? Better late than never, I guess.

Government take-overs, green machines, and excuse making for obvious failures

When Obama, helped by the demcorat controlled congress, bought out GM for their Union buddies with tax payer money masquerading as stimulus funding or TARP bailouts - that line is blurry - I warned that the result of this would be disastrous. I warned that all that a government takeover of a car manufacturing company would lead to was the forced adoption of a car that would not be liked, used expensive green technology that was meaningless in the grand scheme of things, and in the end would cost orders of magnitude more to purchase than one was getting for it. Of course, the left pretended that wouldn’t be the case, and that now that government was in charge of GM’s strategy and direction, they would put out a dream car that would do the imposable and also save the environment and planet all in one swoop. GM would go into the business of making green transportation, and with the evil entities usually blamed by the combustion engine-haters unable to thwart GM’s efforts because of government protection, they would finally succeed! All the deniers and doubters were finally going to be shown how great that whole collectivist green stuff really was. It looks like I was right. Let me rub it in some.

GENERAL MOTORS introduced America to the Chevrolet Volt at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show as a low-slung concept car that would someday be the future of motorized transportation. It would go 40 miles on battery power alone, promised G.M., after which it would create its own electricity with a gas engine. Three and a half years — and one government-assisted bankruptcy later — G.M. is bringing a Volt to market that makes good on those two promises. The problem is, well, everything else.

For starters, G.M.’s vision turned into a car that costs $41,000 before relevant tax breaks ... but after billions of dollars of government loans and grants for the Volt’s development and production. And instead of the sleek coupe of 2007, it looks suspiciously similar to a Toyota Prius. It also requires premium gasoline, seats only four people (the battery runs down the center of the car, preventing a rear bench) and has less head and leg room than the $17,000 Chevrolet Cruze, which is more or less the non-electric version of the Volt.

So this collectivist’s green dream car basically costs $41K and delivers for that hefty price tag nothing more than a $17K combustion engine car would? WTF? Maybe you should just go buy a Mercedes or some such other luxury car instead of this boondoggle. Talk about getting screwed twice. It is apparent that not only did we tax payers get reamed by these bastards, all so their union buddies could keep their gold plated bennies and jobs, but that they now expect people to pay an arm and a leg for something that’s not all that to begin with. Bravo NYT for coming clean on the obvious!

Of course, the NYT could not just point out the obvious inherent ideological failure caused by those that want to use the power of government to thwart the mechanics of real world, and leave it at that. Nope, they had to go make excuses about why this failure isn’t really the fault of the inherent stupidity in that ideology. Right after acknowledging that the Volt turned out to be exactly what we told you would end up happening, we get a mountain of excuses.

Unfortunately for this theory, G.M. was already committed to the Volt when it entered bankruptcy.

Well, DUH! Making stupid decisions like this one is PRECISELY why GM was on the verge of imploding. When you add on one dumb decision after another, you should go the way of the T-Rex. GM is the company that allowed its unions to negotiate those golden packages that were draining all their income. GM is the company that decided a car that costs $17K with a combustion engine would be a viable product that could make them money if they plopped in an expensive electric motor, only to then find out that at $41K, only stupid people or government agencies are going to ever buy this junk.

And the dumb doesn’t end there. There were some fun doozies like this one:

Nor did the government or G.M. decide to sell the Volt at a loss, which, paradoxically, might have been the best hope for making it profitable.

Forget the inherent flaw here that the financial loss that the NYT is pining for here will be incurred yet again by us tax payers. Is this dumb assertion based on that idiotic concept of selling something at a loss, and making the loss up on volume? I am intimately familiar with the concept that the “per unit cost” goes down with volume. But I find it laughable that there ever will be enough sales of this vehicle to make that the case. And want to see the thing that gave me the biggest laugh?

If G.M. were honest, it would market the car as a personal donation for, and vote of confidence in, the auto bailout. Unfortunately, that’s not the kind of cross-branding that will make the Volt a runaway success.

What’s honest about an attempt to pretend GM was pushing this piece of crap to consumers to thank them for a bailout at the tax payer’s expense? WTF? In fact, if GM was honest it would be admitting this boondoggle is what you get when you marry government with business. Pretzel much? And I have always expected the combination of “GM’s Volt” and “runaway success” in the same sentence to also include something like “no way in hell” or “here comes a lame joke”. This is sad, but don’t worry. GM’s next success will be an $80K electric car that can be bought with a combustion engine for $25K! That’s a step in the right direction.

UPDATE: I think the Volt, in a nut shell, is the perfect illustration of the green world the left so pines for: you will pay oodles more, get a lot less in return for it, making some government agency more powerful in the process, and think this was somehow a good thing. Basically it illustrates the whole concept of “failure is a great success” that seems to be the MO of the left, by applying it to the real world in a practical manner.

WikiLeaks redux

Unless you live in a cave somewhere - not Afghanistan or Pakistan of course, because if you are there, your co-conspirators in the MSM are keeping you in the loop, and letting you now how well your joint war on civilization is going - you have heard about the big WikiLeaks document dump. The real big revelation?

A trove of military documents made public on Sunday by an organization called WikiLeaks reflects deep suspicions among American officials that Pakistan’s military spy service has for years guided the Afghan insurgency with a hidden hand, even as Pakistan receives more than $1 billion a year from Washington for its help combating the militants.

Yawn! As if this was not obvious already. Maybe we need to talk more to the Pakis and cut off their funding. Let their Chinese buddies pay for them. Military investigators are checking computers used by Pfc. Bradley Manning, who somehow made it into an intelligence analyst slot, and then got charged this month with leaking this classified information for whatever idiotic reason. I hope that he spends a lot of time in Leavenworth, being “loved long time” at a minimum, or hangs for this treasonous act. The MSM, and especially these losers, are an enemy of this state.

Anyway, the left is dead set in pretending these documents show war crimes. Of course these morons would not know a war crime if it bit them in the arse, and only believe that the US or other NATO troops can commit war crimes - where else have we heard something just like that, huh? - anyway, so take it all with a grain of salt. As I suspected, this moron released mostly boring and low level contact reports, and while it is obvious that there will be information that is damaging to security, the troops, and operations, I doubt there will be anything that is going to satisfy the left’s need for a grand conspiracy and rampant war crimes after this revelation about the documents classification status made it obvious that:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon said on Monday that its review of the leak of secret military documents on the war in Afghanistan would take “days if not weeks” and that it was too soon to assess their damage. WikiLeaks, an organization promoting the leaking of information to fight corporate and government corruption, on Sunday said it released 91,000 U.S. military documents on the war stretching back to 2004.

This Australian newspaper also seems not to know WikiLeaks is one giant joke where fake is real and not give them so much legitimacy, but who then again, it doesn’t fit the narrative. Speaking of narrative, check out this beat down:

Well, the issue of civilian casualties is a major one and the U.S.  has taken a lot of criticism because of this. However, what’s interesting to note that is according to the documents, 195 Afghan civilians have been killed. But also according to the documents, two thousand Afghan civilians have been killed by the Taliban, which is more than ten times the number said to be killed by U.S. and NATO forces. And very little is being made of that.

I have been asking the same question. Why is the western media obsessed with how many people we kill but always giving these barbarians a pass? At a minimum it puts into serious doubt their motives and makes it clear that there is an agenda, and then not a good one. When the agenda is that leaks that compromise lefty reporters and their agenda is bad, but any leaks that kill American troops and hampers America’s ability to fight wars against evil people while helping those fighting America is good, you have a problem. In case you are not seeing the obvious swipe here, I am discussing the left’s reaction to the t revelations about Journolist and their shenanigans, up and including their collusion to defend and elect the idiot now living in the WH, versus the reaction from the left about the release of documents intended to hurt American troops during a war.

Don’t you worry though! The left will have someone on their side cook up the facts just right. Maybe they can get Oliver Stone to do it for them after he reforms Hitler’s & Stalin’s images so the left no longer needs to remember that these two collectivists combined to kill close to a hundred million people in a war, and that Stalin fellow killed a few tens of millions more of his own people and a few hundred million more, leaving billions in chains, as their filthy collectivist ideology spread across the globe.

Taxes are for idiots!

In a general display of how the leftist elites really feel about all those taxes they love to levy on the “undeserving rich” and everyone else, we have this interesting story about the new Kerry yacht:

Sen. John Kerry, who has repeatedly voted to raise taxes while in Congress, dodged a whopping six-figure state tax bill on his new multimillion-dollar yacht by mooring her in Newport, R.I. Isabel - Kerry’s luxe, 76-foot New Zealand-built Friendship sloop with an Edwardian-style, glossy varnished teak interior, two VIP main cabins and a pilothouse fitted with a wet bar and cold wine storage - was designed by Rhode Island boat designer Ted Fontaine.

But instead of berthing the vessel in Nantucket, where the senator summers with the missus, Teresa Heinz, Isabel’s hailing port is listed as “Newport” on her stern. Could the reason be that the Ocean State repealed its Boat Sales and Use Tax back in 1993, making the tiny state to the south a haven - like the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Nassau - for tax-skirting luxury yacht owners? Cash-strapped Massachusetts still collects a 6.25 percent sales tax and an annual excise tax on yachts. Sources say Isabel sold for something in the neighborhood of $7 million, meaning Kerry saved approximately $437,500 in sales tax and an annual excise tax of about $70,000.

The senior senator’s chief of staff David Wade denied the old salt was berthing his boat out of state to avoid ponying up to the commonwealth.

Seriously, you don’t think this decision was done on advice from his accountants to avoid taxes? If you don’t I am also sure you think Charley Rangel is being unjustly persecuted. One set of rules for thee, another for me. But we are the party of the little guy and the people. Right..

On a lighter note, Biden is again showing us how lucky we are Obama is president.

CHA_CHING!

Well, it looks like the tax payer subsidized government bail outs are now at a record setting $3.7 trillion of tax payer dollars, with no end in sight. Seems that $4 trillion number we were supposed to hit at the end of Obama’s first term will come about long before we get rid of him. Some $700 billion has been forked out just in the last year.

WASHINGTON, July 21 (Reuters) - Increased housing commitments swelled U.S. taxpayers’ total support for the financial system by $700 billion in the past year to around $3.7 trillion, a government watchdog said on Wednesday. The Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program said the increase was due largely to the government’s pledges to supply capital to Fannie Mae (FNMA.OB) and Freddie Mac (FMCC.OB) and to guarantee more mortgages to the support the housing market.

Now one can argue that it was necessary and Bush was not a moron for going along with the first $350 billion, but none of us, including GWB, liked it when congress - who controlled it back in 2008 again lefties - decided to up it to $ 700 billion, and most of us objected to it. Even though Bush was no longer running for office, republicans paid for this move in 2008, while the demcorats made a great show, even as they rigged the way the cash was being distributed to make it end up with their hobby horses, big donors, friends and lobbyists, of blaming Bush for the bad economy and the need to bail out corporations with tax payer money. Things have steadily gone down hill from there, as the TARP bailout funds became the perfect place for demcorats to hide their shenanigans, and that $700 billion number soon was nothing but wishful thinking. Here we are now closing in on the $4 trillion mark not even two years after the fact. And who, pray tell, did most of the $700 billion they spent this year go to? Why.. Nah, just read it yourself:

Increased guarantees for loans backed by the Federal Housing Administration, the Government National Mortgage Association and the Veterans administration increased the government’s commitments by $512.4 billion alone in the year to June 30, according to the report.

“Indeed, the current outstanding balance of overall Federal support for the nation’s financial system...has actually increased more than 23% over the past year, from approximately $3.0 trillion to $3.7 trillion—the equivalent of a fully deployed TARP program—largely without congressional action, even as the banking crisis has, by most measures, abated from its most acute phases,” the TARP inspector general, Neil Barofsky, wrote in the report.

So wait a minute? We aren’t bailing out banks anymore – the demcorats sure as hell are trying their best to pretend that the bailouts are for Wall Street – like before, so what did all that cash end up going to? Well you found out when you read deeper into the article, or if you had been paying attention, that the big money this year went to prop up government institutions and amongst them are none other than Freddie and Fannie, whose protectors also brought us that fun bill Hal has an awesome piece on right here. The banks in the mean time? Well, check it out:

The increased government commitments more than offset about a $300 billion decline in the U.S. Treasury’s TARP commitments in the past year as programs have closed and banks have repaid taxpayer funds.

They are paying back our money. So why are we still seeing such massive TARP expenditures still going on when the banks are paying back the cash, then?

“The fact that the Obama administration is treating TARP like its own personal slush-fund is beyond egregious and a complete betrayal of what the American people were told would be then when their tax-dollars were used to bailout Wall Street,” Issa said in a statement, adding that the housing efforts were “dumping good money after bad”.

Heh, must be more of the same game that has them avoiding both a budget before the 2010 elections and playing chicken with the Bush tax cuts that expire then too. “Hope and Change”, baby! Fiscal discipline the demcorat way....

These are the people that are going to make your healthcare decisions too

Unless you live under a rock, you have heard about this story where some government bureaucrat from the Agriculture Department admitted on camera during an NAACP meeting that she had shafted a honkey farmer. While many are now coming out to condemn her for this, others are defending her, and even have the temerity to claim that it is the people that are pointing out how wrong what she did are at fault, thee real big deal that is going unsaid, is that this isn’t anything new for people working in government.

The people in government, at least the ones I have had to deal with, are with a few exceptions not even close to being as clever or unbiased as they would like you to believe they are. Your usual lefty has a lot of trust in these people, and maybe they are justified considering they share the same world view and ideas, but those of us that know better are not surprised to see these employees abusing their powers and office. In fact, I would be surprised if the opposite was the case. For every one you have on tape, I am betting there are hundreds of other that have done the same, but simply have not been caught or exposed. Heck, I dealt with such petty and vindictive losers with inferiority complexes and a giant chip on their shoulder practically every damned time I had to deal with government people. From the DMV to the IRS, they are smug and drunk with their own power. And they want you to know you have to go through them and are at their mercy.

While we should not ignore the racial component of this case, it is important to keep in mind that it is not just the only motivator of these kind of petty people. And just think how wonderful our healthcare coverage will be when these same types of people are in charge of it? That guy needed a heart transplant, and I just didn’t give him the full force of my abilities, cause I hate his guts. Of course, the only bad people are in the private sector and working for the insurance companies. Heh, our tax dollars at work.
