No way!
Back a while I pointed out how job creation by the stimulus patronage bill was piss-poor at best, but it now looks like news is coming out that the WH overstated the number of jobs created by the stimulus patronage bill by 20%!
WASHINGTON (AP) - An early progress report on President Barack Obama’s economic recovery plan overstates by thousands the number of jobs created or saved through the stimulus program, a mistake that White House officials promise will be corrected in future reports. The government’s first accounting of jobs tied to the $787 billion stimulus program claimed more than 30,000 positions paid for with recovery money. But that figure is overstated by least 5,000 jobs, according to an Associated Press review of a sample of stimulus contracts. The AP review found some counts were more than 10 times as high as the actual number of jobs; some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two and sometimes more than four times; and other jobs were credited to stimulus spending when none was produced.
A simple “WTF?” isn’t enough. If we have less than 25K jobs, and I bet that number drops even lower, created so far, that means that less than 600K jobs total will be created by the allocated $339 billion, pushing the “per job” cost close to $650K! This is not just ridiculous, it is criminal.
In the mean time the number of jobs lost is fast approaching 5 million, and the real unemployment number – the people out of work and collecting unemployment, working part time, or simply abandoning any effort to work – is over 16%. Of course the solution by the collectivists was not to make changes to spur economic growth of any kind and create jobs, but to choose the path that makes the most people dependant on them and their largesse at the expense of the tax payer. A move touted with much fanfare and beating of drums, but which has come to a grinding halt because the republicans want real relief – the tax reduction kind – which is anathema to collectivists and their power grab agenda.
In the mean time, the MSM is reporting economic growth. Let’s wait for the revised numbers. They have always swung back the other way and been anything but good. Still hasn’t stopped these propagandists from trying though. What a difference the letter behind the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. makes, huh? More cowbell!

Well blow me down!
It looks like the collectivist robber barons are about to again learn about the law of unintended consequences. New York state is one of those “fleece the rich” North Eastern blue states with punitive “progressive” taxation that does not apply to a few lucky people like Charles Rangel, and this is what it has resulted in:
New Yorkers are fleeing the state and city in alarming numbers—and costing a fortune in lost tax dollars, a new study shows. More than 1.5 million state residents left for other parts of the United States from 2000 to 2008, according to the report from the Empire Center for New York State Policy. It was the biggest out-of-state migration in the country. The vast majority of the migrants, 1.1 million, were former residents of New York City—meaning one out of seven city taxpayers moved out. “The Empire State is being drained of an invaluable resource—people,” the report said.
think the collectivists running that freak show will figure out their policies drove away the productive or will they decide that the answer to their decreasing revenue problem is to fleece the productive even harder? I am voting for the later. And it doesn’t stop there. Here is the bad news:
What’s worse is that the families fleeing New York are being replaced by lower-income newcomers, who consequently pay less in taxes. Overall, the ex-New Yorkers earn about 13 percent more than those who moved into the state, the study found. And it should be no surprise that the city—and Manhattan in particular—suffered the biggest loss in terms of taxable income.
Who would have thunk it? When you fleece the productive to buy votes from the unproductive, your productive people will bail and more of those non-productive people will move in to suck at the government’s teat. I see a pattern here. Even the USSR which had a prison state and didn’t allow the people to leave could not make this crap work. The Chinese are playing a shell game and for now things are going the way of the communists running that state as well. But sooner than later they too will realize the model they have is unsustainable when people want freedom. Especially with the US going more collectivist than they are and depriving them of a market to dump their stuff. Anyway, there was good news for New Yorkers:
The study also had some good news. The peak loss of New Yorkers was in 2005, when nearly 250,000 residents left the state. But last year, only 126,000 left, the lowest figure over the eight-year period.
I wonder how many of those 126K that left were millionaires fleeing that new millionaire tax. I bet that hurts even if there are a few dozen of them.

Expose the cockroaches.
Despite the democrat controlled congress’ best efforts to hide the massive corruption and their role in the financial crisis we are currently seeing dragged out because of the collectivist policies intended to expand their power & government instead of fixing anything, some of their craven acts of corruption can not be wished away. This story is of particular importance and concern to me because one of the key players is none other than one of my state’s senators, Chris Dodd, a man that has never met a corrupt scheme or tax he didn’t like, and which is front and center in many of the current congress’ schemes to defraud the tax paying American people. Because they care about the people, of course. The democrat controlled congress, which constantly used their propaganda arm - the MSM - to tell us all about the “culture of corruption” on the other side, while not just ignoring real corruption amongst their own, but actively covering for it, without shame or remorse, seems to have lost a fight:
At last, there’s some good news for taxpayers in the Countrywide Financial loan scandal. On Friday night, House oversight committee chairman Edolphus Towns (D., N.Y.) and ranking member Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) reached an agreement to subpoena documents from the “Friends of Angelo” program. Named for former Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo, the program provided VIP mortgages to “friends” including Senators Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad.
Said Mr. Towns, “In line with the commitment to an ethical and accountable Congress, the subpoena to Countrywide covers records that could show special treatment for Members of Congress.” This is significant, because a compromise plan floated last week would have authorized a subpoena covering—don’t laugh—all federal officials except members of Congress.
Even more important is the fact that these crooks are front & center in the blame game, and are demanding the right to “fix” the problem they blame everyone but themselves for.
As the largest subprime lender and valued partner of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Countrywide was at the core of the mortgage meltdown. The political class wants to blame the mania and panic on the bankers, but the bankers couldn’t have made the subprime lending mess without plenty of political help from Congress. To ensure that this disaster is never repeated, it is critical that Congress uncovers the facts about the extraordinary efforts by Countrywide and Fannie and Freddie to influence federal housing policy.
Let me say it again: even more important, it is critical for the American people to see that these scams could not have been run without the help of the politicians, whom often were the movers & shakers that pushed for the system that ended up imploding on us. Especially since these politicians are now pointing fingers elsewhere and demanding to be allowed to write even more law around these problems while ignoring the fundamental underlying problem caused by their ideological economic policies that fly in the face of reality.

Want some bad news?
Now the losers in the WH are saying that $787 billion stimulus patronage bill has already shot its wad. Guess this is how they plan to convince the tax payers they need another one of these, only double the size of this one, in order to save us from the economic disaster of their making we are in. After all, what’s the a few more trillion dollars in debt when you can help make your supporters, operatives, lobbyists, and friends stinking rich at the tax payers expense. Heck, you can do the whole thing again later since it’s not going to make the economy anything but worse. I am telling you, this can not be anything but the Cloward-Piven strategy to overwhelm government with debt it simply can not deal with until the capitalist system collapses and the collectivists can take over. The alternative is that these leftists are really the dumbest people on the planet, and while I think that’s close to the truth, I just can’t imagine people this stupid not having been taken out by the natural selection process.

Told ya so…
Looks like that promise by the Russians to take Iranian Uranium and thus limit their enrichment capabilities and thus the collection of material needed to build a nuke the left was so proud to get, is just more smoke up our arses. How does that saying go again? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This is episode/blunder 462 for the Obama team dealing with the Iranians. Only idiots think diplomacy works when one side, despite all its might is unable to act if the others are not willing to meet them in the middle, and the other has no interest in any kind of compromise. What’s the definition of insanity again? Do the same thing over and over, and expect a different result. And before you start saying this is just incidental and not yet official policy, think how hard I am going to rag on you when that excuse too falls short.

Real voter fraud happened, and guess who was involved?
Do it enough times, and you will eventually get caught. And that’s what happened to the case of the Working Families Party registration drive: they got caught red handed rigging an election. In case you were not privy to the facts, the WFP is nothing but some shell organization of our favorite leftist crime syndicate: ACORN. You have to read this stuff.
Thirty-eight forged or fraudulent ballots have been thrown out—enough votes, an election official admits, to likely have tipped the city council and county elections in November to the Democrats. Candidates would have been able to run both on the Democratic and Working Families Party lines in two weeks, and that could have given the Democrats the general election.
You have to figure if they are this blatant rigging a local election where this stuff is so easy to figure out, how often do they do it in bigger elections where the numbers simply make this stuff so much harder to track.
A special prosecutor is investigating the case and criminal charges are possible. New York State Supreme Court Judge Michael Lynch ruled that there were “significant election law violations that have compromised the rights of numerous voters and the integrity of the election process.”
Among the reasons cited on the fraudulent forms for absentee voting: “traveling to Buffalo,” attending a “screen printing conference in Syracuse,” “working late shift,” “working construction,” and “home—ill.”
And this happened in NY State, a bastion of leftist stuff like this. They got caught. This is not going to bode well for these people and their election rigging schemes. For one they are going to be under much more scrutiny going forward. For another, people are finally gunning to get them, even if the MSM is doing its best not to cover the story.

Kharma
Talk about having the country with the greatest support for terrorism getting a little of their own medicine. In an act that I am sure is Ironic to most of us but likely got missed by the Iranian monsters oppressing the people of Iran, we get this tid-bit:
TEHRAN (Reuters) – A suicide bomber killed six senior Revolutionary Guards commanders and 23 other people on Sunday in one of the boldest attacks on Iran’s most powerful military institution. The attack, in the country’s turbulent southeast, came as Iranian officials were to meet Western counterparts for a second round of negotiations in Vienna on Monday intended to help resolve a standoff with the West about Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
State media said a local rebel group called Jundollah (God’s soldiers) claimed responsibility for the attack, the deadliest on the elite Revolutionary Guards in recent years, which also wounded another 28 people at a meeting of tribal chiefs. “Rigi’s terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack,” said state television, referring to Abdolmalek Rigi, leader of Jundollah which is linked by some analysts to the Taliban in neighboring Pakistan. The Guards themselves accused “foreign elements” linked to the United States of involvement. Tehran accuses the United States of backing Jundollah to create instability in the country, a charge that Washington denies.
What’s hilarious is that the blame the current panty-waste do nothing cowards in DC for the attack, be it directly or indirectly, after these crooks in DC removed all aid for Iranian dissidents in the hopes of kissing up to these evil men! If anything these Sunnis are going to be backed by Saudi Arabia, where Sunnis are in the majority, but Iran is not ready to blame them yet it looks like.
I guess the mullocracy is still brutally oppressing, but the people are using some of the mullah’s own tactics against them now.

Jobs, jobs, jobs…
I recommend a trip to an awesome site that animates ”The Geography of Jobs” showing the top 100 metropolitan statistical areas in the contiguous United States based on number of jobs as of December 2008, and runs from 2004 to 2010 (just 3 months away). Something is very telling there.
Update: Over at The Hill, they are now pointing out that the first direct stimulus patronage bill reports, the hard data collected so far for the $780 billion (over a trillion once it is paid off) payout, is showing that for the $16 billion they have looked out of the $339 billion awarded so far, we have really only had a measly 30,083 jobs created. Then they extrapolate that out to 1.2 million jobs saved or created directly by this bill. What is missing is that it is almost a given that most of these jobs are all in government or the public sector, the unproductive and unsustainable sector of the economy, and that they will need to suck money out of the economy to keep this crap going. Unless there is another stimulus patronage bill next year these jobs will go away. The indisputable fact is that over 3.4 million jobs have been lost since the bill was passed, and that over 15 million Americans remain unemployed, with tens of thousands more joining their ranks every month.
One statistic that I do not see is that if you divide that $16 billion by the number of jobs created, 30,083, you end up with each job created by this bill costing us roughly around $531,862. I am certain none of these people are getting paid that much, so the question begs to be asked: could this have been done more efficiently?

The lowdown on what we get from healthcare reform
As Dirty Harry and the rest of the crime syndicate take the whole “healthcare reform” issue back behind closed doors in an effort to ram it through as soon as possible – those pesky 2010 elections and an angry populace they are hoping has a short memory or can be bought off with other goodies, you know – there are a couple of things you can be certain about.
First off, we should stop pretending this “healthcare reform” was about cutting costs. Unless you are one of the people that chose to be uninsured, despite the many options out there to help you get insurance, and are lucky enough to end up getting it “for free” from Uncle Sam, you are going to end up paying a lot more. If you are one of those lucky enough to own what they call a “Cadillac plan” – that means that you have an employer that pays a huge chunk of the bill, and hence pays you a lot less money to cover that cost, pay for the bulk of the cost plan’s yourself, or have something in between so that you can have a good healthcare plan – you are now going to get a 40% tax hit against that.
All those union people with the real sweet plans – including those working for the various states where the cost is likely to just be passed off to the tax payers again (talk about your double whammy!) – most, if not all, of us in the middle class, and quite a few seniors on some nice retirement plans, are going to see our premiums go up, and do so drastically. In many, if not most, cases you will also see employers, but doubly so when they are going to get whacked hard, simply opt to drop their plans and pay the 8% tax. You can then go join the government option or pay for your own plan at 2 to 10 times your current cost: that is if you can now get private coverage. That government option sure becomes unavoidable, huh? But of course we were told this was not the plan. Oh yeah, it looks like the politicians – but especially congress – which has a “Ferrari Plan” is still exempt from anything in this bill. Seriously, can we dispense with the “fix the out of control cost” lie yet?
As I already pointed out: unless you were already on the dole, your costs are going up. Government needs to, best case scenario, BTW, come up with anywhere from $500 billion to something over $1 trillion dollars in revenue to offset most of the cost and bring the deficit that exists between the real cost and the number they will tell you it will cost, to under $1 trillion. And based on past performance, my guess is that this massive theft won’t even cover a fraction of the real cost, and will need to be much higher. No need to explain how we will end up paying a lot more and getting a lot less, be it quality or quantity, than we have now either. Yay, us tax payers!
And then there are those other “cost savings” too. Talk is that they plan to get some $500 billion in savings from Medicare. If you buy their line it will be practically all from reductions in the system’s inefficiency and waste. As many much wiser people than me have asked when they heard this: why can’t we get those savings right freaking now? The ugly truth is that there will be no such savings. Period. Any inefficiency in the system will only likely grow bigger as the scope of how much government involvement in healthcare increases. The same applies to the waste. Anyone claiming otherwise is lying.
If those efficiencies and that waste could be addressed it should have already been fixed. But it never has been, and that’s not an accident. These inefficiencies and the waste are byproducts of government controlled systems. It’s like the stink you get when eggs rot: unavoidable. So that means that the only way that government will get that $500 billion in savings from Medicare, is to cut legitimate services. Guess who’s going to be banged, and banged hard, when that happens? If they want to keep the same level of coverage, they are now going to have to pay out of pocket for it. That’s if they can get alternative or supplemental coverage. Bet you they certainly will not feel that their healthcare has been fixed or that their costs have gone down.
So we are not getting any kind of cost savings. We are guaranteed to see a lot more government price fixing and control of access to care. The out of control tort system remains untouched. Quality of care and availability of care are going to both go down. You can’t add a couple of dozen new million people thinking they are getting “free healthcare” without any increase in the number of qualified healthcare professionals & facilities to the system and expect availability and quality to not drastically and negatively be impacted. If we are lucky, I have so far only seen that congress will write the law to prevent insurance providers from excluding people for preexisting conditions, and while they are trying hard to force everyone to buy healthcare I simply do not see that working out well. In the end that means we all will see a big bump in our premiums to cover the cost of that as well.
So if you do the down & dirty analysis, healthcare will cost all us shlobs more, result in a reduction of quality and availability for all but the elite, and really not fix either the cost issue either. What is being done really doesn’t do anything but funnel the trillions we spend on healthcare each year through congress, while at the same time moving the decision making capability and mechanism into congress’ hands. Healthcare reform indeed. After you find all that out, does what we have right now seem that bad?

That’s how you do it: money for nothing and chicks for free!
Remember when the democrats where all up in arms that evil BushMcHitler sent our troops to Iraq without adequate equipment? The endless stories about the lack of body armor, mine resistant trucks, inadequate armoring on Humvees, the overstretched military which lacked enough manpower, bad MREs, or adequate internet connections so the troops would not have to watch slow loading porn? OK, that last one was a joke, but you get my drift. All that sudden caring about the troops, seemed to take a back seat to the obvious fact that it was these same democrats that defunded and drastically reduced the size and fighting capability of those troops they now worried about, so the money could be funneled elsewhere. Increased social spending that buys them votes, being the most obvious and likely target. And we will avoid the whole rigmarole about if they actually were worried about the troops or just playing politics and hurting the troops efforts because they had a vested interest in making the mission fail for now, because this would just cloud the issue I want to bring up.
Anyway, so now that they are in power and able to “help” those troops fill those gaps they agonized over and do their jobs better, this is how they choose to do it:
Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis. Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.
While earmarks are hardly new in Washington, “in 30 years on Capitol Hill, I never saw Congress mangle the defense budget as badly as this year,” said Winslow Wheeler, a former Senate staffer who worked on defense funding and oversight for both Republicans and Democrats. He is now a senior fellow at the Center for Defense Information, an independent research organization.
I guess those democrats really knew what the troops really needed now that they are in charge. Educational institutes named after the U-Boat commander of Chappaquiddick and museums are essential war fighting materiel. And I am sure the MSM will report how much better off our troops are, now that they are still fighting a war these people tried their best to make us lose, with these guys calling the shot. Don’t worry though! Just like the big O plans to use the power of government to make jobs - because this has always worked so well every time it was tried and never ended up costing the tax payer a fortune while bloating up government with more useless people that just happen to vote for democrats – I am sure he will magically find a fix for this stuff too.

About that help from Russia…
A couple of weeks back all the libs were pointing out how diplomacy and talk had finally made stuff happened - the US gave up efforts in putting a missile defense shield in place to shoot down Iranian missiles to please the Russians in return for them backing us up on the initiative to confront Iran with the knowledge of their new illicit nuclear processing plant - and pointing out how the Obama WH was finally going to get though on Iran. Most of us that live in the real world laughed at this ridiculous notion and pointed out Obama was likely scammed. Well, here is the proof:
BEIJING (Reuters) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin warned major powers on Wednesday against intimidating Iran and said talk of sanctions against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear programme was “premature”. Putin, who many diplomats, analysts, and Russian citizens believe is still Russia’s paramount leader despite stepping down as president last year, was speaking after U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited Moscow for two days of talks. “There is no need to frighten the Iranians,” Putin told reporters in Beijing after a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. “We need to look for a compromise. If a compromise is not found, and the discussions end in a fiasco, then we will see.”
Looks like we lost again. We gave up something for nothing, and Iran is still going to build its nukes. I can not believe that the idiots in the WH have not already figured out Russia has weighed the risks of a nuclear armed Iran vs. the benefits of a nuclear armed Iran and decided the later works just fine for them. A nuclear armed Iran would drastically alter not just the composition and balance of power in the ME, but it would also drastically reduce US influence, and open the door, at least in their eyes, for Moscow to come in and fill in the vacuum. A nuclear armed Iran will also immediately affect the price and availability of oil: the price will go up drastically, and actions by Iran, hiding behind its new found security and nuclear umbrella, would/could disrupt the flow as well. Russia will make a lot more money when that happens. We are talking the potential for trillions of dollars more. And in the end, Moscow is not as reluctant to nuke iran first if they feel there are risks.
The Russians, stealing a page out of the Bush doctrine preemptively book, have taken the whole concept to a new level and now want everyone to know that they have the right to use nukes preemptively. I am sure the left will now call Putin the next coming of Hitler, fill the news 24/7 with the arrogance and lunacy of this escalation of a doctrine they didn’t agree with before, and break off all attempts to talk to the Russians, like they did with Bush. They will suddenly realize Iran is our problem and deal with it too. Ok, I was being facetious. But the point is that the Russians want everyone to know – and especially Iran – that they are not worried about a nuclear armed Iran at all. In fact, logic points to the fact that they welcome it.
In the mean time the WH response is to grab their ankles and spread even wider.

Here comes the new spin…
Here comes the left’s new spin on why Iranian nukes are actually going to be a great thing. Suddenly the nutjobs are no longer demanding a nuke free world - with the US of course being the first to unilaterally disarm, as a token of good faith, and a fantasy that this will somehow make brutal and evil thugs follow along - but embracing the reality that in our world nukes now serve an indisputable function. In fact, now that Iran is heading that way and none of their jabber-jabber has made a difference, they are all for it:
President Barack Obama was surprisingly given the Nobel Peace Prize “primarily for his work on and commitment to nuclear disarmament,” according to Agot Valle, a Norwegian politician who served on the award committee. Valle told the Wall Street Journal that the stewards of the prize wanted to “support” Obama’s goal, as expressed recently at the U.N., “of a world without nuclear weapons.”
It’s tough to think of a goal more widely espoused than the dream of an H-bomb-free planet. President Ronald Reagan and activist Jane Fonda, political opposites, came together on this one — in his second term, Reagan stunned his advisers and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev by suggesting a treaty that would take nuclear arsenals down to “zero.”
As long as a nukeless world remains wishful thinking and pastoral rhetoric, we’ll be all right. But if the Nobel Committee truly cares about peace, its members will think a little harder about trying to make it a reality. Open a history book and you’ll see what the modern world looks like without nuclear weapons. It is horrible beyond description.
During the 31 years leading up to the first atomic bomb, the world without nuclear weapons engaged in two global wars resulting in the deaths of an estimated 78 million to 95 million people, uniformed and civilian. The world wars were the hideous expression of what happens when the human tendency toward conflict hooks up with the violent possibilities of the industrial age. The version of this story we are most familiar with is the Nazi death machinery, and we are often tempted to think that if Hitler had not happened, we would never have encountered assembly-line murder.
Yeah, really. A nukless world is suddenly wishful thinking – and yet Obama is lining up and giving away the game to everyone in the hopes he can convince the Russians to lower their warhead count so we can do the same (and my bet is this idiot reduces our arsenal even if the Russians don’t because he is just that full of himself) – and these twerps sudden understand the role of nukes. Know what this talk reminds me off? The whole “détente” bullshit that these same leftists bring up when discussing SDI and our scrapped Missile Defense plans. Do they even realize how stupid this 180 looks like?
Anyway, get used to it. These collectivist apologists are laying the ground work for the Obama administration to drop the ball on Iran: letting them go nuclear. I wonder why the leftists that love to claim the North Koreans went nuclear with Bush at the helm, ignoring bill Clinton’s role in that affair, don’t give him the honor of the same defense. And credit the Bush administration with never trying to pull this ridiculous line that a nuclear armed North Korea – or Iran - was a good thing.
So, after the left has tried to talk strong while acting as weak as possible, showing strength only when they could help prevent any action against Iran that might have made a difference, they now drop even that pretense. Now a nuclear armed Iran will suddenly help bring stability to the world! I am sure that’s why the Saudis told MI-6 they would allow Israeli over flight to attack those facilities even if they later denied they said so. They still have to keep appearances for the locals I guess. But in the mean time the left is getting ready to make the Middle East become a much more dangerous place, and this article showing the left suddenly engaging the nuclear reality is nothing but the precursor to our capitulation on this issue. Talk failed.

We might say GWoT is over, but the enemy is still fighting
The news that a nuclear scientists working for the CERN project with connections to North African Islamic terrorists linked to al-Qaeda was arrested for plotting attacks should really give them Europeans, and maybe even our current domestic crop of appeasist leftists that tell us the GWoT is over with, some concern.
Fears that al-Qaeda is planning an attack on the nuclear industry in Europe were renewed yesterday after French secret agents arrested a physicist working at an atomic research centre. The 32-year-old man, who was detained with his brother, 25, is suspected of providing a list of terrorist targets to North African Islamic radicals. He worked for the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland, according to French police sources. Agents were said to have intercepted messages in which the physicist, a Frenchman of Algerian origin, had suggested targets in France. He is believed to have been in contact with members of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, an Algerian-based terror organisation that joined Osama bin Laden’s network in 2007.
“He had expressed a wish or a desire to commit terrorist actions but had not materially prepared them,” an intelligence source said. After he was identified, during an investigation into a French network that had sent Islamic radicals to Afghanistan, the man was put under surveillance for about 18 months. Last month Judge Christophe Teissier, an investigating magistrate specialising in terrorism, opened a formal inquiry into his activities. The brothers apparently came to the attention of the secret services when agents monitored the internet as part of the inquiry into the recruitment of extremists to fight in Afghanistan. Several exchanges were recorded between the brothers and suspected al-Qaeda contacts.
The stupid people, the once that believe Obama deserved that NPP, might think that if they but back down the enemy will give up its ambitions to conquer or kill us all. After all, they believe that the enemy’s grievance – that they believe their part of the world sucks so bad because we have done it to them, not because their cultures are corrupt, tribal, and so dysfunctional that it can’t do any better – is the real reason they are all angry at us, and such. If we but show them our good will and leave them alone they will finally let us be. That’s why the world wanted Obama. But ever since Obama got elected however, all I hear is that more and more terrorist cells are getting busted for putting their plans into motion. How do this demented view by these appeasers and the fact that the enemy seems to have gone into overdrive square? I would love to hear that explanation.

Great…
I am sure cleric Mojtaba Zolnour, the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s representative in the Guard, was misquoted. And since it was not A-jad saying this and the Iranians are just responding to aggression by anyone trying to stop them from getting a nuke, I am sure the usual suspects will tell us we can not point out that these people are dangerous and not to be trusted. Especially with a nuke. I wonder if they are talking about all those Iranian rockets in the hands of Hezbollah and Hamas? Don’t worry though! We are in good hands!

Is anyone surprised?
When the 2007 NIE report came out claiming Iran was neither pursuing a nuclear bomb any longer, nor close to being able to build one anyway, after the last 3 reports had said exactly the opposite, I was amongst the first to point out that this was a political hack job to prevent the Bush administration from doing anything about Iran. Well, now we have proof that NIE report was doctored by people with a political agenda:
When it comes to politicized intelligence in the Bush years, the critics may finally have a point. Perhaps the work of America’s intelligence agencies was manipulated to suit the convenience of a small group of willful officials, intent on getting their way against the better judgment of their colleagues. Except the intelligence was about Iran, not Iraq, and the manipulators weren’t conniving neocons but rather the Administration’s internal critics on the left. That’s one way to look at last month’s revelation that Iran is building a secret second site to enrich uranium, among other emerging intelligence details. The Qom site—too small for civilian purposes but ideal for producing weapons-grade uranium—is supervised by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and was only declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency after Tehran got wind that the nuclear watchdogs knew about it.
But the more telling detail, as a recent White House “guidance paper” acknowledges, is that the U.S. has been “carefully observing and analyzing this facility for several years.” That timeline is significant, because it was less than two years ago, in December 2007, that a National Intelligence Estimate on Iran’s nuclear programs asserted with “high confidence” that Tehran had “halted its nuclear weapons program” in the fall of 2003. The NIE was a political sensation, seized on by Democrats and Iraq war critics as another case in which the Bush Administration had supposedly politicized intelligence. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the NIE a “declaration of victory,” and it derailed any hopes for the Bush Administration to garner international support for tougher sanctions on Iran.
Who would have thunk it? The people that are now dropping to their knees and lining up to kiss the asses of some of the most vile and evil bastards of the world, rigged a n intelligence report to tie the hand of the people that might have done something to halt the soon to exist Iranian nuke! No really:
The 2007 NIE also contradicts the findings of the usually hypercautious IAEA, which concluded in a recent analysis that Iran “has sufficient information to be able to design and produce a workable implosion nuclear device.” The word “implosion” is especially significant because it means Iran is likely seeking to design a warhead compact enough to be fitted atop one of its increasingly capable ballistic missiles.
Because you know, talking is better. Of course talking will go nowhere if the other guy thinks you will not back up the talk anyway…
