More ACORN

The left and their propagandists in the MSM love to downplay the ACORN scandals. In fact with the exception of the right leaning blogosphere, Fox News, and talk radio, the other players in the MSM did their best to ignore the story, hoping it would just go away and not inconveniencing them. But the right knows they have this collectivist crime syndicate by the balls, and has not given up. And it is starting to pay. These authorities, whom often have given ACORN a wide pass, are starting to have to do their jobs, and it is paying off. Those of us that have followed ACORN’s crime spree know that it is involved in all manner of shenanigans, but the thing that has irked us the most is how ACORN has gotten away with giving the democratic party cover for massive voter fraud. But that was then, and this is now.

Dozens of forged and fraudulent absentee ballots from people registered to vote on the Working Families Party line were filed in the Sept. 15 primary elections in Troy. Documents at the county Board of Elections show the fraudulent ballots were handled by or prepared on behalf of various elected officials and leaders and operatives for the Democratic and Working Families parties. There may be as many as 50 absentee ballots that were forged, according to people close to the case. Countywide, there were 126 absentee ballots applied for on the Working Families Party line.

You say WTF does the Working Families Party have to do with ACORN? Here are the choice pieces:

The Working Families Party is not about working people or families and it isn’t really a party. The WFP is a wholly owned subsidiary of ACORN. Bertha Lewis co-chair of the Working Families Party is the Executive Director of New York ACORN. New York ACORN leader, Steven Kest was the moving force in forming the party and WFP headquarters are located at the same address as ACORN’s national and New York office at 88 Third Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. WFP is essentially a money funnel which pays for an aggressive door to door canvas. Largely funded by unions, the WFP is ACORN’s “political arm” in New York State. Candidates supported by the Working Families Party and issues supported by ACORN are both advocated on the door steps of target voter homes as they share one major voter canvas.

And my guess is that this is just the first of many other such shadow organizations with ties to ACORN that will come to light and end up being investigated. The people saying this ACORN story has no legs or is not as big as we think it is are missing the obvious point that this has started a snowball effect. With the blinders removed, and none of the usual suspects that used to dismiss accusations against ACORN willy-nilly in the past knowing if some other video or audio will pop up, where ACORN personnel are helping someone commit crimes or themselves committing crimes in their jurisdiction, making them look bad for not investigating those past accusations of possible crime by ACORN, the snowball is going to keep rolling and growing. And as they start investigating, they are going to find crime after crime. Especially when it comes to voter registration and vote rigging. People are asking the questions, and even senators are not immune. Lets see if the MSM misses these stories too.

Vultures lose interest in dead soldiers..

Since the election of Barack Obama many things have changed in this country. Practically all of them for the worse in my opinion. But amongst the most blatant changes is the way the media has been treating and reporting the wars we are engaged in and fighting. Iraq, where we won despite the left’s efforts to incur a loss, has been all but forgotten. Air strikes against terrorists now focus on killing terrorists instead of accusing the US of killing civilians. Even more telling is the fact that al-Qaeda and the Taliban are now real bad guys instead of freedom fighters. And now we are no longer making that many excuses for Iran, and actually reporting that they are trying to build nukes, even if we ignore the fact Obama has known about this since he became president and continues to treat them as if they where gold buddies. And Afghanistan, the only war the left felt was justified because of Bin Laden, has now lost its just cause. Obama, whom promised to get us out of Iraq and to commit troops to Afghanistan to “get” Bin Laden has treated it and its new commander like a leper. The calls of quagmire are not too distant. But one of the most telling things is how suddenly the media’s fascination with showing dead soldiers has become passé.

Remember the controversy over the Pentagon policy of not allowing the press to take pictures of the flag-draped caskets of American war dead as they arrived in the United States? Critics accused President Bush of trying to hide the terrible human cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“These young men and women are heroes,” Vice President Biden said in 2004, when he was senator from Delaware. “The idea that they are essentially snuck back into the country under the cover of night so no one can see that their casket has arrived, I just think is wrong.”

In April of this year, the Obama administration lifted the press ban, which had been in place since the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Media outlets rushed to cover the first arrival of a fallen U.S. serviceman, and many photographers came back for the second arrival, and then the third.

But after that, the impassioned advocates of showing the true human cost of war grew tired of the story. Fewer and fewer photographers showed up. “It’s really fallen off,” says Lt. Joe Winter, spokesman for the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where all war dead are received. “The flurry of interest has subsided.”

Since now they would have to point out Obama is the CinC, and blaming Bush would be too obvious of a ruse, the interest has died. Change indeed…

How far have we fallen…

I was dumb struck to see the announcement that the Empire State building turns red-yellow for China’s 60th. That is, the Empire State building has been decorated this way because they are celebrating 60 years of communism in China. The question begs to be asked: Why are we celebrating communism? This ideology murdered over a hundred million people and imprisoned billions in their own prison states in the last century. The last bastions of true communism today – North Korea and Cuba – are virtual third world sh*tholes, with their people oppressed and living under the most tyrannical yokes ever to be laid across man’s back. Even though China reformed its economic policies and abandoned the horrible communist economic beliefs that – thank the powers that be! - resulted in the collapse of the USSR, and the Chinese people have a fleeting feeling of more freedom now than they did a score years ago, they remain prisoners of their state. Why would we celebrate this vile orthodoxy?

I know China owns most of our debt, but research showed me that the Empire State building is owned by W&H Properties, a partnership between the Malkin family and the late Leona Helmsley, the underlying land is owned by Empire State Building Associates, which has some 2,764 investors, and that they have the lease for the building until 2076. So it is not the Chinese that own it. This was willfully done by these people to curry favor with the Chinese. Be it so they could make more money in China, or because they actually think communism is OK, this was a horrible thing to do. We should not be celebrating communism: we should be celebrating its demise.

Split decision

It looks like the Law Library of the Congress of the United States (LLC) has issued an opinion on the removal and expulsion of Manuel Zelaya as president of Honduras. The LLC’s conclusion: Zelaya’s removal was legal but his deportation from the country was not. Here is the relevant synopsis:

The Supreme Court of Honduras has constitutional and statutory authority to hear cases against the President of the Republic and many other high officers of the State, to adjudicate and enforce judgments, and to request the assistance of the public forces to enforce its rulings. The Constitution no longer authorizes impeachment, but gives Congress the power to disapprove of the conduct of the President, to conduct special investigations on issues of national interest, and to interpret the Constitution. In the case against President Zelaya, the National Congress interpreted the power to disapprove of the conduct of the President to encompass the power to remove him from office, based on the results of a special, extensive investigation. The Constitution prohibits the expatriation of Honduran citizens.

The obvious conclusion is that our State Department and president where wrong on this issue. Their argument was that the Honduran Supreme Court had overstepped its authority in ordering the military to depose Zelaya. Let me say that again: “Zelaya, a corrupt and feckless autocrat who was allied with Hugo Chávez, Fidel Castro, and other self-professed enemies of the United States, was lawfully removed from office by a unanimous decision of the Honduran supreme court.” And yet, our leaders sided with him. And it was not because they understood the Honduran constitution or the fact that Zelaya should not have been deported, but because they applied their limited knowledge of our constitution - which doesn’t allow the Supreme Court to give the military orders which could affect the president - to the situation in Honduras. Smart bunch indeed. It is telling which side they chose in this dispute. i wish we could get the real reason for this out here.

Some reality about all this talk of economic recovery..

The usual MSM is awash with the WH driven propaganda that they have fixed the economy. What a change from the way economic news was reported during the last presidency, huh? How things change. Anyway, back to the economic news and the MSM propaganda. We keep getting told things are getting better and that what the collectivists are doing is working, but the truth is out there for those that want it.

“Wherever the government is, there is a rally,” says the head of one private equity firm. “Wall Street is out of sync with the fundamentals but if you fight it, you die.”

Still, the correction in equity markets at the end of this week shows just how fragile sentiment is beneath the easy money now sloshing around the globe. This is largely because investors perceive that the government is the only source of liquidity, and that liquidity has to be temporary.

Sadly, the government isn’t just everyone’s favourite financier, it is virtually the only financier around. And there is a limit to how much the central bank and the government can, and should, do. Underneath the euphoria, is a certain ambivalence and even schizophrenia. The securitisation market, for example, was at the heart of the crisis. Complicated structured financing with super high – and undeserved – ratings fuelled the huge growth in credit, was largely responsible for asset bubbles and allowed banks to leverage up way beyond what was prudent and sustainable. It was the perfect example of bad money driving out good.

“CDOs destroyed prudent lending in America,” says this private equity executive. “It was like a nuclear bomb to good lenders.”

It’s all artificial and unsustainable. This government remains hostile to the private sector and the fact the private sector is hunkering down and not playing along is proof of that. We can not continue to borrow indefinitely and have the government spend and prop up the faux economic news. That game is rigged to fail. Especially with the same people that pushed for these CDOs – the democrat politicians like Franks and Dodd - now “fixing” the system.

Obama to break another promise.. But it is Bush’s fault!

Well, it looks like the WH, and the left, are finding out that in the real world wishful thinking is not enough. There are consequences to actions, and such. Making promises you can’t or are not intending to keep can also make life miserable for you.

With four months left to meet its self-imposed deadline for closing the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the Obama administration is working to recover from missteps that have put officials behind schedule and left them struggling to win the cooperation of Congress.

That babble by the WaPo authors is code for “Obama is going to break this promise too”. See, just promising to do so in a vacuum, and then finding out that you can’t make the problem magically go away, even if you believe the hype by the MSM and the left that you are the second coming, is crimping Obozo’s style! Talk is cheap.

Even before the inauguration, President Obama’s top advisers settled on a course of action they were counseled against: announcing that they would close the facility within one year. Today, officials are acknowledging that they will be hard-pressed to meet that goal.

You mean the ideologues that thought Bush had come up with Gitmo, just for kicks, and was refusing to get rid of the place, because he is an evil Hitler-wannabe, did not take warnings that they had to deal with the reality when they promised the impossible? Why must reality disrupt these noble people huh? Is it some evil conspirator that just likes to screw the progressives and favors the evil conservatives? Maybe some thousand plus page bill passed without anyone reading it can solve this problem too?

Here is a prediction: they won’t meet this goal next year either. In fact the only way they meet this goal is if they make bad choices that put our lives at risk. Not saying they won’t do something like that, they are progressives after all, and the cause comes first, but even they must worry about how bad things can go for them personally.

The White House has faltered in part because of the legal, political and diplomatic complexities involved in determining what to do with more than 200 terrorism suspects at the prison. But senior advisers privately acknowledge not devising a concrete plan for where to move the detainees and mishandling Congress.

Right! This WH is struggling with near insurmountable complexities - legal, political, diplomatic, and otherwise – and the lack of any kind of concrete plan, making it hard for them to shut down this den of evil. But the Bush WH created and kept Gitmo around because they are evil, inept, and simply didn’t want to deal with those complexities. I guess the point is that no real plan and unfulfilled promises by progressives are better than plans of any kind – especially those that work but can also be used to score cheap political points - by the opposition.

Don’t you lose any sleep over it though. I am sure this team of crack geniuses will come up with some nice “Hope & Change” answer to this conundrum. Hopefully one that doesn’t set these terrorists – oops, I mean alleged, they need their day in court before we can call them terrorists even if they were caught in the act – free.

To address these setbacks, the administration has shifted its leadership team on the issue. White House Counsel Gregory B. Craig, who initially guided the effort to close the prison and who was an advocate of setting the deadline, is no longer in charge of the project, two senior administration officials said this week.

Now this new guy can claim he needs another year to get this done, then a few months before then claim he is still wrangling with the complexities and the lack of any kind of serious plan, and pass it off to a new guy to solve. Rinse and repeat for the next 2 years too.

The rest of this WaPo article is all apologia and bull meant to confuse the issue and create the ridiculous misconception that the problem is not with the fact that closing Gitmo has real world consequences nobody can address, but that evil Bush and his gang rigged it so Obama and his saints could not fix this either. I wonder how much longer it will be before even these losers pick up on the fact that the “Bush did it” excuse, isn’t convincing anyone anymore.

Obamanomics on display

In a brilliant display of the new economic and fiscal policy pursued by the new collectivist order in charge of making sure the private sector does what’s best, we find out that $529 million of our tax dollars are going over to hybrid car company in Finland to make top end cars. But there is more!

WASHINGTON—A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000. The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla, like Fisker, is a California startup focusing on high-end hybrids, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns.

The awards to Fisker and Tesla have prompted concern from companies that have had their bids for loans rejected, and criticism from groups that question why vehicles aimed at the wealthiest customers are getting loans subsidized by taxpayers. “This is not for average Americans,” said Leslie Paige, a spokeswoman for Citizens Against Government Waste, an anti-tax group in Washington. “This is for people to put something in their driveway that is a conversation piece. It’s status symbol thing.” DOE officials spent months working with Fisker on its application, touring its Irvine, Calif., and Pontiac, Mich., facilities and test-driving prototypes.

Damn, this global warming racket sure pays off. Especially when you are connected to the Pope of the AGW cult. I hear Nancy Pelosi is first in line for one of these beauties.

Guess this is a display of the new age of Obamanomics. Government will now decide where our dollars should be invested, because obviously we peasants, but especially the businesses in the private sector, have no clue what’s best for us. Instead some smart politicians will send our tax dollars to those connected to them – that means those that give big money to their campaign coffers for you libs – and properly direct the market. To keep us all safe from any economic downturns, you know. It’s not like these politicians would push for stupid things based on their failed ideology that have real world repercussions or anything…

The clock is ticking….

Guess the Obama team now has to worry about Iran’s new nuclear facility. Go figure!

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 25—President Obama and the leaders of France and Britain on Friday blasted Iran’s construction of a previously unknown uranium enrichment facility and demanded that Tehran immediately fulfill its obligations under international law or risk the imposition of harsh new sanctions.

I am sure the Iranians will do just that. After all, this time they blasted Iran in anger. It is not more of the same useless talk with nothing to back it up, and I am sure Iran realizes that this time they really, really mean it.

Iran acknowledged the existence of the facility for the first time on Monday, in a letter to the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency. The letter said “a new pilot fuel enrichment plant is under construction in the country,” said Marc Vidricaire, a spokesman for the watchdog agency. “The letter stated that the enrichment level would be up to 5 percent.” Vidricaire said the agency responded by asking Iran to quickly provide more specifics about the facility—“to assess safeguards verification requirements.” He said Iran told the IAEA “that no nuclear material has been introduced into the facility.”

Hey, why not take them at their word? Is it because we know they are just kidding when they say the Holocaust never happened and that they want to wipe Israel off the face of the planet that we think they are not being honest now?

Ahmadinejad insisted that Iran is using nuclear technology only for energy and medical purposes and has no interest in acquiring nuclear weapons. He said he wants to buy enriched uranium from the United States that would be used for medical purposes.

Oh, that settles it. Nothing to see here. All is just fine.

They did have a Doomsday device!

Guess this tid-bit will drive the lunatics that love to tell us how paranoid and stupid we where about communism and the Soviet threat sick to their stomachs:

Valery Yarynich glances nervously over his shoulder. Clad in a brown leather jacket, the 72-year-old former Soviet colonel is hunkered in the back of the dimly lit Iron Gate restaurant in Washington, DC. It’s March 2009—the Berlin Wall came down two decades ago—but the lean and fit Yarynich is as jumpy as an informant dodging the KGB. He begins to whisper, quietly but firmly. “The Perimeter system is very, very nice,” he says. “We remove unique responsibility from high politicians and the military.” He looks around again.

Yarynich is talking about Russia’s doomsday machine. That’s right, an actual doomsday device—a real, functioning version of the ultimate weapon, always presumed to exist only as a fantasy of apocalypse-obsessed science fiction writers and paranoid über-hawks. The thing that historian Lewis Mumford called “the central symbol of this scientifically organized nightmare of mass extermination.” Turns out Yarynich, a 30-year veteran of the Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces and Soviet General Staff, helped build one.

The technical name was Perimeter, but some called it Mertvaya Ruka, or Dead Hand. It was built 25 years ago and remained a closely guarded secret. With the demise of the USSR, word of the system did leak out, but few people seemed to notice. In fact, though Yarynich and a former Minuteman launch officer named Bruce Blair have been writing about Perimeter since 1993 in numerous books and newspaper articles, its existence has not penetrated the public mind or the corridors of power. The Russians still won’t discuss it, and Americans at the highest levels—including former top officials at the State Department and White House—say they’ve never heard of it. When I recently told former CIA director James Woolsey that the USSR had built a doomsday device, his eyes grew cold. “I hope to God the Soviets were more sensible than that.” They weren’t.

You can’t make this shit up. The harder the left tries to tell us we wasted time on, and the wrong side won the Cold War, the more we find out how scary these Soviets really where.

It might not actually be a button, he then explains. It could now be some kind of a key or other secure form of switch. He’s not absolutely sure. After all, he says, Dead Hand is continuously being upgraded.

And the thing still exists!

You can’t make this crap up..

In another event that validates my belief society is heading in the wrong direction we have this case of another person figuring out how to “get jiggy” with some animals. Now I am not trying to make excuses for this guy’s seriously disturbed behavior, but if you take a look at the picture that comes up - no, that was not one of the allegedly molested cows – of his girlfriend, you might feel some sympathy for his actions. What am I saying? This guy is a freak.

Fiscal disaster on the horizon?

This one is for the usual Bush, America, and capitalism hating lunatics that constantly try to repeat the same lies in order to divert attention from their disastrous economic policies. You can’t make this crap up:

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. government will have issued $7 trillion in bonds by the time the current fiscal year ends next week, but it expects the debt deluge to stabilize by mid 2010, a Treasury official said on Wednesday. .

WTF? $7 trillion in one year? Who’s in charge and doing this kind of borrowing? And why the “expectation” things will stabilize by mid 2010? I see nothing other than fluff and lies from people that now, because the guy in the WH has a (D) by his name, switched from reporting real good economic news as bad or insignificant for the 8 years before this new occupant moved in, to reporting bad news as improvements or good news in the last 9 months. Wishing for it to be better is not going to make it so. Here are some hard facts about the spending being done.

Though markets and the economy are improving, efforts to provide a firm foundation for recovery will require increases to the U.S. Treasury’s conventional bonds going forward, as well as debt securities that are indexed to inflation.

I do not buy the premise that the economy is improving. It’s all artificial. Sure, things are not getting bad as fast as they where before, but that, as I already pointed out above, would never have been reported as anything but bad news if the guy in the WH didn’t have a (D) by his name. And what do securities indexed to inflation mean to the economy? Is this the dreaded inflation monster that has to eventually rear its ugly head as these collectivists continue to print money like it was Monopoly cash? The fact this is glanced over or ignored is not coincidental, IMO.

However, this expansion may take place in an environment where investors consider leaving the safe-haven Treasury market for riskier assets, and debt issuance is likely to level off mid next year, said Treasury Acting Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets Karthik Ramanathan.

Likely to level off? What’s this being based on? The collectivists have already told us that we have seen nothing yet. They plan to do even more radical collectivist crap. And that stuff is bound to costs us oodles of cash. The need to keep borrowing is not going to go away. Maybe the AS mentioned above means that they will give up on issuing these bonds. Again, the borrowing and spending seems not to have any kind of end in sight. And it’s a question of time before things go belly up. An issue of when. I am surprised investors have not bailed on these idiots yet. It’s going to happen however. While the stock market may be climbing now, I hear from friends that are traders that most of them are selling off their stuff. They know something.

“In fiscal year 2009, which ends next week, Treasury will have issued $7 trillion in gross issuance—that’s in a 12-month period,” Ramanathan told a financial markets conference in New York.

Let that number sink in. When was the last time the US Treasury did anything like this? And we have not yet dealt with the consequences of this stunt either. The fact is that we are setting new records in spending what we don’t have, and the collectivists have no plan to scale it back. This warning from Obama is likely because he expects us to end up a broke banana republic and unable to do much.

“This issuance was necessary to meet nearly $1.7 trillion in net marketable borrowing needs, nearly $1 trillion more than what we raised last year,” he added.

But Bush is the bad guy, and conservatives are fiscally irresponsible! The debt we now carry, your average collectivist twit will tell you, is because of those evil wars Bush started. From the CBS article I linked above:

(CNSNews.com) – As a candidate for president, Barack Obama decried the financial toll that the Iraq war was taking on the economy, but Obama’s proposed spending on welfare through 2010 will eclipse Bush’s war spending by more than $260 billion. “Because of the Bush-McCain policies, our debt has ballooned,” then-Sen. Barack Obama told a Charleston, W.V., crowd in March 2008. “This is creating problems in our fragile economy. And that kind of debt also places an unfair burden on our children and grandchildren, who will have to repay it.” During the entire administration of George W. Bush, the Iraq war cost a total of $622 billion, according to the Congressional Research Service. President Obama’s welfare spending will reach $888 billion in a single fiscal year--2010--more than the Bush administration spent on war in Iraq from the first “shock and awe” attack in 2003 until Bush left office in January. Obama’s spending proposals call for the largest increases in welfare benefits in U.S. history, according to a report by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. This will lead to a spending total of $10.3 trillion over the next decade on various welfare programs.

The next time you hear your average economically illiterate and reality challenged collectivist harping about how our economy is in bad shape, because of the evil Bush wars, remember this, and hammer the idiot for his stupidity. And this is likely just the start. That welfare spending is not likely to go down next year. We could fight the equivalent of the Iraqi war some 12-15 times for the welfare money that these collectivist plan to flush down the toilet every year. That’s some $10.3 trillion dollars in the next 10 years. If this was going to actually help improve things, like the Iraq war did, it might be worth it. But this $10.3 will not do anything other expand the number of people dependant on government handouts, added to the ranks of the poor and unemployed, and voting for democrats. Guess if you are a progressive and a democrat this is great fiscal policy. For the rest of us it is a disaster. Looks like Obama didn’t learn from Bill Clinton.

And when the Obama people come out and say they have to go against this suggestion because it costs too much, remember the above. Democrats do not have a problem with spending us into banana republic status. They just don’t like any kind of spending, even spending that helps national security, unless that spending helps them win elections. One thing is certain: we are going to pay the price for the collectivisation of America.

I call Bull!

Would you expect people that ran and won elections on “Change and Hope”, accused their predecessors of corruption and lack of transparency, promised transparency and ethical behavior, and in general claim to champion the will of the people, but especially the little guy, to do something like this?

WASHINGTON — Senate Finance Committee Democrats have rejected a GOP amendment that would have required a health overhaul bill to be available online for 72 hours before the committee votes. Republicans argued that transparency is an Obama administration goal. They also noted that their constituents are demanding that they read bills before voting.

Democrats said it was a delay tactic that could have postponed a vote for weeks. The Democrats noted that unlike other committees, the Finance Committee works off conceptual language that describes policies — instead of legislative language that ultimately becomes law, and which the GOP amendment would have required.

So the democrats vote down a bill to show the people what they plan to do to healthcares so we the people can have a look and make sure we understand what they are doing, on the grounds that it would delay their passage of the vote? Why? They worried that once people get to read it, they will balk at it and demand changes? Because I see nothing else that would make this a bad idea. I mean, they promised that they would be transparent. So I can only conclude, based on how this thing is playing out so far, that the intent here was to shove this unwritten bill through, before people can read it and object to the royal shafting sure to come, and they want nothing in the way of that.

Democrats accepted an alternate amendment to make conceptual language available online before a vote.

Yeah, right. I would love to see the details about that alternate amendment that was passed. This is the MSM covering for the democrats. What language changes would have suddenly done away with their accusations that letting the people read the bill before they get to vote on it leading to delays? My guess is anything that really would have given people time to read the real intentions and then respond to them. Of course, the MSM which is in bed with them on this issue, has no intention of doing any real investigation and informing, or they have would have provided details.

We are getting “serviced” by our elected officials and media. Just like a bull “services” cows…

I’ve seen it!

Was fishing with the kid and his cousins at the in-laws when we happened to see the most incredible phenomenon. A lightsource suddenly appeared in the night sky right ahead of us then did the most incredible thing: it slowly seemed to expand and come down towards the earth, then suddenly vanished. We all speculated about what it was. The kids were convinced it was a UFO! Maybe it was a ghost or God giving us a sign? The aliens are invading! It was real weird. Unfortunately the engineer in me broke the thing down and while I did not immediately come to the correct conclusion, I explained to my son that the only way we saw that slow light expanding effect was, if light was being bounced off some expanding cloud of gas. He of course thought I was goofing off or talking crazy, but it turns out I was right.

The space agency said it launched the Black Brant XII on Saturday evening to gather data on the highest clouds in the Earth’s atmosphere. About the time of the launch, dozens of people in the Northeast started calling local television stations to report seeing strange lights. The calls came from as far away as Boston, which is about 380 miles northeast of the launch site. The rocket is designed to create an artificial cloud. NASA hopes the experiment will provide information on the formation and properties of noctilucent clouds, which occur at high altitudes.

Nice to know I got the cloud diffusion effect right. Light traveling at 300K km/sec is not going to be able to look like it is moving at a few kilometers per second unless it is being diffused by some expanding gas cloud moving at that expansion speed. Physiscs baby! My wife, of course, immediately let me know she thought I was a pompous know it all arse. That’s why I love that gal.

Stupid is as stupid does!

It is not just the MSM that is playing dumb and pretending that ACORN has been exposed as a democrat crime syndicate. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proved when she acted like she had no idea what was going on during a Q&A with reporters when asked how soon it would be before the House would take action to defund ACORN, like the Senate did for HUD loans and is looking at doing for other monies.

WASHINGTON—House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday she is clueless about an amendment to prohibit government funds for embattled ACORN, although it overwhelmingly passed the Senate Monday and the White House is calling for the group to be held accountable. “I don’t even know what they passed,” Pelosi told The Post yesterday. “What did they do? They defunded it?” The amendment to suspend housing grants was a stunning blow to the community-activist group—and came as some Democrats and the White House have been backing away from the group.

Yeah, Nancy! You are right that you are clueless if you think we for a second believe you did not know ACORN had been exposed and the Senate had been forced to vote to drop HUD funds for them. Unlike the usual leftists twits that only get spoon fed what they should know or believe by the MSM, one can not for a second believe Pelosi doesn’t have people looking at what the conservatives are talking about. Even more incredible is the point that Dingy Harry Reid never brought that up in their daily conversations.

Anyway, this is a lose-lose for the left. Either Pelosi is playing dumb, and that makes her look, well dumb, or she is lying, and that makes her look like the liar she is. The fact remains that the House will now have to deal with this. They might drag their feet and continue to deflect by wasting time with Joe Wilson or pushing their failed government healthcare dollar takeover propaganda campaign, but sooner than later they will need to deal with ACORN and their roles in that syndicate. Especially with even more videos set to expose the ACORN crime syndicate in the wing.
