Things are not getting better…
Our newly elected Messiah now that he never liked the old America and is remaking it. We all know from what and into what. The left no longer even feels obligated to tell people they are not remaking the USSR here. But I was particularly galled at Obamateur’s claims that he was fixing the economic wreckage and our image abroad. Does he forget which political party and philosophy lead to banks being told to lend money to people that could not pay it back, with government backing of course, and then encouraged to trade these ridiculous loans as valuable assets? Or even worse, which party won the election by hammering the deficit spending of the party in charge only to outspend them at a rate that is simply incomprehensible? I guess he is pretending not to know because he is not even accepting responsibility for his part. The MSM might be lying about how things are getting better, but the facts are there for anyone that wants to look em up: things suck and that’s the facts. The government is not making anything better it looks like. I have however not missed all his kow-towing to, and ass kissing of, leveled at evil dictatorial thugs. Or was he talking about how we are now going to treat terrorists like VIPs. This is sure to dissuade them from thinking we are a weak nation and should be attacked again. What a way to remake our image! I guess he is trying to impress the UN? At least we are not getting a ton of Monday night quarterbacking and a heavy dose of politically motivated moral grandstanding. And they keep blowing smoke up our arses too. I do not often agree with Dick Morris’s opinions, but he has got this right. And be worried about big government’s promise to be vigilant about the faux swine flue pandemic, because the real way to stop it from getting worse here, is off the table. They do not care much about the average Joe, but the politicians sure are looking out for their own. Guess it is more of that “new America” we are being promised. And that speech we got last night? Find here the many corrections the MSM will never bring to light. America is being remade, but the final product sure resembles a pile of manure instead of the bed of rosesw these collectivists keep promising…

What’s the big deal?
Specter was a republican and now he is switching to the dark side? Maybe I was confused but as far as I could tell Specter has been a democrat for the last 10 years. While this move now supposedly gives democrats a filibuster proof majority, this is no big loss. This guy was already a democrat. Good riddance. At least we will not get a real conservative that will beat his stupid arse. In the mean time he can continue to vote with the democrats and be remember as one of the many democrats (for real instead of being a shadow one) that shafted Americans.

What if Bush had done this?
Seriously, what if this had happened with Bush in the WH? No, seriously. How do you think the MSM and the left would have responded?
A jumbo jet being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings. It was not a terrorist attack, however, but a photo opportunity for Air Force One, sources told the Post. President Obama was in Washington at the time, but the low-flying 747 circling the Statue of Liberty was one of the planes used as Air Force One, sources said. The NYPD and the city were notified of the planned flight, but did not share that information with Mayor Bloomberg and other New Yorkers, many of whom said they were terrified.
Now granted the WH did tell the people in NYC, but then again, Bush was held responsible for the government of LA being totally and completely inept in the Katrina disaster, just to name one, so I would suspect he would have been hammered for it.

It looks like Lee who created and blogged at Right-Thinking from the Left Coast, one of the first blog sites I ever went to, has passed away. It is a sad day. I have not been as frequent a reader as I was in the past, but this still saddens me. We lost a good guy.

Science huh?
Democrats are so confident in their beliefs about AGW, the science behind their predictions, and the fact that they have it right, that they are blocking any other testimony from anyone but true believers:
Washington, DC—UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.
“The House Democrats don’t want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”
According to Monckton, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Energy & Commerce Committee, had invited him to go head to head with Gore and testify at the hearing on Capitol Hill Friday. But Monckton now says that when his airplane from London landed in the U.S. on Thursday, he was informed that the former Vice-President had “chickened out” and there would be no joint appearance. Gore is scheduled to testify on Friday to the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment’s fourth day of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The hearing will be held in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.
According to Monckton, House Democrats told the Republican committee staff earlier this week that they would be putting forward an unnamed ‘celebrity’ as their star witness Friday at a multi-panel climate hearing examining the House global warming bill. The “celebrity” witness turned out to be Gore. Monckton said the GOP replied they would respond to the Democrats’ “celebrity” with an unnamed “celebrity” of their own. But Monckton claims that when the Democrats were told who the GOP witness would be, they refused to allow him to testify alongside Gore.
That’s the kind of behavior I expect from people that know they have all the facts & science on their side.... NOT
UPDATE: Even the democrats know this is all scams to create the largest taxation scheme ever. Save the planet indeed....

Sad coincidence or is there more to this?
Unless you limit your news to whatever DNC talking points the MSM force feeds the morons, you know that we are in a crisis created by our own congress’s legislation, and that the two government backed & controlled giant financial institutions - Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae - played a central role in first the high risk mortgage lending scheme and then in the security trading scams that our own politicians on the left encouraged. So one has to wonder what this means. Did this guy really off himself because he could no longer live with himself considering the role of the company he worked the financial angle for, or are the politicians that want to hide their role in this stuff now cleaning house? Yeah, conspiracy theories are stupid, but libs always tell us evil and greedy Wall Street types, and despite the fact that Freddie’s policies were run by the government does not take away from the fact that this guy was anything but a Wall Street type, only care about themselves. So why commit suicide at this point? None of the reasons I can think of make the left look well.

What they do not want you to know?..
The left has seized on some memos Obama allowed to be declassified to again take on their accusations of war crimes, torture, and the usual other BDS bull that comes with all that, but there is a lot more to this story than what they want you to hear.
WASHINGTON - President Obama’s national intelligence director told colleagues in a private memo last week that the harsh interrogation techniques banned by the White House did produce significant information that helped the nation in its struggle with terrorists.
“High value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qa’ida organization that was attacking this country,” Adm. Dennis C. Blair, the intelligence director, wrote in a memo to his staff last Thursday.
Admiral Blair sent his memo on the same day the administration publicly released secret Bush administration legal memos authorizing the use of interrogation methods that the Obama White House has deemed to be illegal torture. Among other things, the Bush administration memos revealed that two captured Qaeda operatives were subjected to a form of near-drowning known as waterboarding a total of 266 times.
The Obama Administration only released memos about the various interogation practices, and I am sure they limited it to the crap that the left has been hoping to get to restart their crusade against the people that actually kept us safe from another attack, but not the memos about what these interrogations yielded intelligence wise. That’s not a chance thing. It was on purpose. And the timing of this release is also suspect. What are they trying to deflect attention from? And why the effort to hide the valuable intell we obtained from these interrogations? There is something that does not pass the smell test in this entire release.
And Obama claiming his people will not do what it takes to get the intell to protect Americans should not be forgotten. When the next attack comes, and at this rate it will be soon, I and other Americans will blame Obama for it. He is the one that ordered the changes that drastically reduced our capabilities to find out what was happening. Who knows, maybe this is happening because of the many snafus and gaffes by the Obama people. WHen people start asking why Obama always smiles at the bad guys, you know something is going on.
UPDATE: And now it is obvious that the heat is on!
A Democratic strategist close to the White House said: “The president looked resolute, and like he had threaded the needle perfectly on the substance: The heat from the right was preposterous, and the heat from the left was manageable. But now they look like the scarecrow, pointing in both directions. They got the policy right, but they look confused and beaten down by critics.”
Anyone expect an operative to claim otherwise? The president got caught in the web of lies the WH tried to spin on this issue - they tried to play it both ways and it blew up in their face - and he is looking anything but resolute or in command. He is looking like he has ordered the legion of propagandists to do damage control ASAP.
Obama also shifted course Tuesday on another politically delicate issue: whether to create a blue-ribbon panel to investigate alleged anti-terror excesses from the Bush era. “If and when there needs to be a further accounting of what took place during this period, I think for Congress to examine ways that it can be done in a bipartisan fashion….to the extent that there are independent participants who are above reproach and have credibility, that would probably be a more sensible approach to take,” the president said. The comment represented a swerve from the line he and other aides had taken since before his inauguration in January, consistently dismissing questions about a so-called truth commission by referring to the new president’s desire to “look forwards not backwards.”
Yeah, he sure looks like he is in control, what with straddling both sides of the fence and all. In either case the moonbats sure have gotten excited about the possibility that their fantasies about going after Bush & Chaney will now happen. While I am sure the Obama people would if they thought they could, reality still shows no chance of this happening.
In fact, legal experts say there is virtually no chance that top officials will ever face prosecution for their decisions on the interrogation program some have described as torture.
Guess the moonbats will be disappointed again. Keeps them good and angry though. Candidates for a heart attack. Good population control I guess.

It looks like I.F Stone, the famous liberal truth teller, was a dirty red operative as was suspected by many. He was not alone. The KGB seemed to put a high value on having an army of propagandists spouting their bull:

Control the information allowed, the discussion, what is right and what is wrong, and you control the people. Does anyone doubt that the PC idiocy that so permeates the left and our society is not straight out of the KGB cook book of how to control people? When the USSR imploded the useful idiots did not go with it. Inf act we elected a president just recently because so many people where reached by these people’s efforts to subvert the news and education to suit their ideology.

Not surprised to find out that one of the most virulent collectivists around, one that is always demanding more collectivism and greater power for government, would thenturn around and use that power to benefit themselves. On the day the new Congress convened this year, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband’s real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms.
Mrs. Feinstein’s intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn’t a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.
Documents reviewed by The Washington Times show Mrs. Feinstein first offered Oct. 30 to help the FDIC secure money for its effort to stem the rise of home foreclosures. Her letter was sent just days before the agency determined that CB Richard Ellis Group (CBRE) - the commercial real estate firm that her husband Richard Blum heads as board chairman - had won the competitive bidding for a contract to sell foreclosed properties that FDIC had inherited from failed banks.
So someone that plays the collectivist crowd like a fiddle, hammering the envy and jealousy the usual victim crowd that feels their life is a mess because of someone else feels and using it to further the expansion of government, then turns around and uses the expanded power of government to gain, and gain big. Who would have thunk it. Collectivism can not work. The people in charge are just as weak, and practically always a lot worse, than the ones they replace or rail against.
Mrs. Feinstein and Mr. Blum, a wealthy investment banker, are a power couple in both Washington and California who sat behind President Obama during his inauguration in January. Mrs. Feinstein also is mentioned as a candidate for California governor.
Yeah, but of course, this is no reflection on any of these people. They are owed a little something for their trouble after all, right? I prefer a politician that does not work so hard at lying about how they really want to help the weak, the poor, the downtrodden, and so on, when what they really want is to help themselves the most, and the ones they claim to want to help the least. Maybe I am crazy that way.

What will they use the AGW boogie man to try and control you with?
If you are like me you wonder what the left will claim is causing AGW next so they can then tell us they need to hand over control of our lives to big collectivist government, to save the world of course, next. Well, wonder no more! The winner is fat people! No, I am not kidding. These idiots now blame fat people for AGW.
THE rising number of fat people was yesterday blamed for global warming. Scientists warned that the increase in big-eaters means more food production — a major cause of CO2 gas emissions warming the planet. Overweight people are also more likely to drive, adding to environmental damage. Dr Phil Edwards, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said: “Moving about in a heavy body is like driving in a gas guzzler.” Each fat person is said to be responsible for emitting a tonne more of climate-warming carbon dioxide per year than a thin one. It means an extra BILLION TONNES of CO2 a year is created, according to World Health Organisation estimates of overweight people. The scientists say providing extra grub for them to guzzle adds to carbon emissions that heat up the world, melting polar ice caps, raising sea levels and killing rain forests.
No, this is not a joke. Some idiot really came up with this. It is another perfect vehicle for the real agenda: to have government gain more control of our lives and tell us, in detail, what we can or can not do. These idiots continue to ignore the effects of the sun, the fact the planet is cooling, and that the majority of people have figured out they are a bunch of dangerous moonbats, and come up with crazy idea after crazy idea on how to gin up public support for their twisted cause. This is not science. It is even worse than a religious attack on science too. Come to think of it AGW is the new religion of the Luddites. You can not make this stupid crap up.

Told ya it was a smart thing
Well, I do not know if the Obama people intended for this to work this way, likely they did not because the move seems to have been about government taking over private industry, but I like it. As long as Chrysler does not take out bailout money the execs get to keep their pay. But to make it work, they will have to really rethink what they are doing, or else they will go down in flames. And that’s how we will get companies to do the right thing and help make an economic recovery. The crap Obama’s people are doing certainly is not going to work. After all, the plan isn’t to help Americans, it is to fix America and make it part of the big world order.

The bottom line: Not much. The president gave his Cabinet 90 days to find $100 million in savings to achieve over time. For all the trumpeting, the effort raised questions about why Obama set the bar so low, considering that $100 million amounts to:
--Less than one-quarter of the budget increase that Congress awarded to itself.
--4 percent of the military aid the United States sends to Israel.
--Less than half the cost of one F-22 fighter plane.
--7 percent of the federal subsidy for the money-losing Amtrak passenger rail system.
--1/10,000th of the government’s operating budgets for Cabinet agencies, excluding the Iraq and Afghan wars and the stimulus bill.
There you have it. The idea of cost cutting to a collectivist democrat. The same people that think tax cuts are stupid and paying taxes, well other people paying taxes, because most of these democrats don’t pay taxes, is our patriotic duty. In the mean time the democrats that won the election by claiming Bush spent too much are about to tack on $10 trillion to our debt, they will run a $3 trillion deficit just this year, and are thinking of passing taxes that will stiffle any kind of economic growth.
In the mean time they have found a new scam: green jobs!
When everybody seems to have the same big idea, you just know it can only mean trouble. Remember sub-prime mortgages? Now universally excoriated as the spawn of the devil, the proximate cause of the credit crunch and all that followed, a few years back “sub-prime” was everyone’s darling. Financiers loved it because it generated sumptuously high-yielding debt instruments; governments, because it promised to make even the poor into proud property owners.
Now business lobbyists and governments on both sides of the Atlantic have got a new big idea. They call it “green jobs”. Leading the pack is, as you might expect, Barack Obama. The president recently defended a vast package of subsidies for renewable energy on the grounds that it would “create millions of additional jobs and entire new industries”.
Heck, the objective by the Luddite elite is to hold everyone else down. Get ready for the coming dark ages.

Just wow…
I have suspected now for a while that the current economic crisis did not happen by mistake. We had the economy, which everyone in the MSM admits favors democrats for some reason I can not understand or fathom, tank right before the 2008 election after democrats, implode after commentary from Senator Schumer caused a drastic reversal of the housing market followed by a meltdown of the financial system tightly coupled to said housing market. The problem in both markets, despite the lack of coverage of these facts, was created by government regulation, pushed and protected by democrats, with republicans too afraid to stand up to them for fear of being labeled racist, and not the deregulation, by, of course, republicans, that the democrats and the MSM have been bandying about.
And the response to this crisis by Paulson, Bush went along with this fiasco so he is definitely also to blame, was lambasted by democrats that played both sides of the coin, quite successfully, with the help of a complicit “king making” media, which was hell bent on handing the democrats the 2008 election, no matter how inept or unqualified the candidate, by on the one side railing against government bailouts for the rich Wall Street fat-cats, while on the other screaming that, without help from government, the entire house of cards (their words) would collapse. Also remember that despite the democrat’s massive efforts to make our valiant military lose in Iraq - Senator Reid telling us we lost despite the surge, even before the surge began, for example - this issue all but disappeared by 2007 when the troops did what democrats said was impossible: win by the use of force. Bush hatred alone was not enough, it did not work well in 2004, and the democrats needed something to refocus people. This economic crisis was the prescription for their win.
And what the democrats have done since they won, seems to back up my point. The same people that railed against the bailouts for corporate fat-cats, whom none of them felt obliged to point out gave more political cash to democrats, then proceeded to throw some $4 trillion at buying up majority shares of our most important banks. The agenda soon became clear that this government had decided to use “the crisis”, one of their own making, to totally take over & regulate the banking system, and through that, our private industry. Of course, this was cleverly done by first dangling massive amounts of what looked like “free” cash, at the taxpayer’s expense of course, in front of the leadership of these many institutions that should have just been allowed to implode, and allowing them to grab huge wads of cash. This soon was followed by massive after the fact regulation, which included the poison pill in the form of salary caps that I am sure soured the fat-cats on this deal, the one thing I liked about this bailout, but that was intended to allow government to gain control of these banks.
Now these corporate fat-cats suddenly do not see the cash as being “free” anymore. But now government is telling them that’s not going to happen. It is obvious that the ultimate goal here was to allow big brother to take over and regulate these banks. Control the banks, and you control the capital. Control the capital, and you control everyone that needs it. In short government has now taken over the most important part of private industry. And that seems to have been the objective from the start. That’s why there is such a rush to get this done as fast as possible. Once people realize what the end game is, they will not go along.
The debate over the respective funding needs of stronger and weaker banks comes as the Obama administration confronts deep political resistance to any further authorisation of federal funds to bail out the sector. On Sunday, Rahm Emanuel, Mr Obama’s chief of staff, told ABC that while some of the country’s biggest banks “are going to need resources”, the administration would not need to obtain more funding from Congress.
People are starting to wonder why their cash is being given away so eagerly. If they only knew what was going on. It is not a coincidence that the current government feels obligated to kiss thug ass, like that of Mr. Chavez, or to blame America first. We can kiss prosperity goodbye if these people get their way. Remember that collectivism, especially the brand they are selling, can only level the playing field by making us all poor indentured servants of the elite running the state. Of course, that would make all the lazy, greedy, jealous, and stupid people that believe this ideology is just, quite happy. This crisis was no accident…

No mas!
I knew that sooner or later many in the financial industry, especially the banking and trading industries, which the democrat politicians have been demonizing to justify the most massive power grab, a take over of our private industry by government, would fight back, and point out the obvious. In this case it is happening in England, but the same applies here. Our banks and financial industries did what they did because politicians not only legislated the idiotic requirements that caused the toxic lending, and then encouraged the idiotic trading schemes that erupted around those loans, but because they where promised government would bail them out if things went south. What I am certain none of them saw was how government, for obvious reasons, would shift the blame entirely to them and then, to add insult to injury, use the aid provided to gain control of them.
Maybe the people in these industries in the US are afraid to articulate this fact because of things like this, but they sure as hell want out of the sour deals government has imposed on them. These institutions have learned not to trust the politicians, and if they can stop and reverse this massive take over of our private industry, to not allow themselves to be talked into these ridiculous and dangerous schemes. While the liberal elite are busy making fun of the people realizing how hard government is screwing us, many of us have had enough.

The wise men of Washington keep finding more core beliefs that we have to give up. First it was free markets. Now it’s democracy.
The collectivist take over is in full swing. The left blamed Bush for the crisis of their own making. Pointed to the fact his Administration had, wrongly, decided to give away $700 billion of tax payer money to the people that got screwed by the scam government perpetrated on them. Then in one fell swoop used the confusion and the lies from the MSM to throw away another $4 trillion dollars in an effort to nationalize banks, grab near total control of the private industry, and collectivize government’s grip on our economy. Of course none of these things will fix the economy. But that was not the plan anyway. We are all hurting, and most are hurting really bad. Have no doubt that so far the collectivist takeover has not helped a bit. In fact, the collectivists admit that things will get worse. Wish they would also admit it was because of what they where doing.
We keep getting told by the collectivists that government spending is the key. The fact is that government is the most inefficient engine for anything, period. Remember the DMV? That’s how government works. It sucks. All that stimulus cash will be wasted on stupid studies or end up being eaten up by lawyers litigating to save some idiotic insect, bird or frog that they claim would lose habitat, anyway. Guess who the biggest democrat donors, operators, and lobbyists are? Lawyers, environmentalists, and big government unions: the people that will keep all that stimulus money. The people out there hoping that the stimulus cash will create jobs for them so they can get back to work are going to be disappointed at a minimum.
It is not a coincidence that stuff like this is now going on. Texas seem to be the lucky ones right now. The rest of us are getting shafted. And way too many are content with this shafting because they have drank the kool-aid and think justice is served as long as we are all equally miserable and poor because they are anyway.
