If Bush had done this…

I guarantee you that had president Bush done this our illustrious MSM would have been all over it and used it to point out the man was a dolt. Don’t take my word for it. The article even reminds of a Bush incident where he hit a closed door and then goes on to try and make it like Obama somehow is not as dumb anyway. And check out the excuse making in the article’s comments. Unlike liberals that would immediately use something like this to intimate some kind of mental retardation in someone with a different ideology than theirs, I do not think Obama is a loser or retarded because he missed a door. Now the case for him being either a real retard or an evil genius can be made by that stimulus bill he pushed for that is nothing but payback for democrat interests and friends. And even then it would be the latter. He is damned smart enough to know this bill will stimulate nothing and serves only to help increase the power of the democrat party, and also thinks enough of we the people are stupid enough not to notice. Good Times!

Stimulate what? This is about pay-offs to donors & agents

This is not coincidental. The democrats are voting for this bill because like the other side points out: this package is geared to pay back big donors & democrat operatives. Not to do anything that would stimulate the economy and create jobs in any way. Obama might claim he is pushing for a stimulus, but the republicans are right when they say that that the nearly $1 trillion bill is just to grow government: give more power to big government collectivist, i.e. the democrats. And from the looks of this article, this bailout is not done yet. Can you imagine $335 million for STD prevention stimulating anything but more stupidity and laxity in people? The only thing that would stimulate the economy, tax breaks for business - especially small businesses - that would stimulate job creation and growth in the private industry, will never come from people that think the only players worth thinking about in private sector are the mega-companies that government can push around. We are hosed people. Get ready for some bad times.

UPDATE: Guess what? Other people also see that this is just a democrat shopping spree.

“Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.” So said White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in November, and Democrats in Congress are certainly taking his advice to heart. The 647-page, $825 billion House legislation is being sold as an economic “stimulus,” but now that Democrats have finally released the details we understand Rahm’s point much better. This is a political wonder that manages to spend money on just about every pent-up Democratic proposal of the last 40 years.

We’ve looked it over, and even we can’t quite believe it. There’s $1 billion for Amtrak, the federal railroad that hasn’t turned a profit in 40 years; $2 billion for child-care subsidies; $50 million for that great engine of job creation, the National Endowment for the Arts; $400 million for global-warming research and another $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects. There’s even $650 million on top of the billions already doled out to pay for digital TV conversion coupons. In selling the plan, President Obama has said this bill will make “dramatic investments to revive our flagging economy.” Well, you be the judge. Some $30 billion, or less than 5% of the spending in the bill, is for fixing bridges or other highway projects. There’s another $40 billion for broadband and electric grid development, airports and clean water projects that are arguably worthwhile priorities.

Add the roughly $20 billion for business tax cuts, and by our estimate only $90 billion out of $825 billion, or about 12 cents of every $1, is for something that can plausibly be considered a growth stimulus. And even many of these projects aren’t likely to help the economy immediately. As Peter Orszag, the President’s new budget director, told Congress a year ago, “even those [public works] that are ‘on the shelf’ generally cannot be undertaken quickly enough to provide timely stimulus to the economy.”

Stimulous my ass. This is collectvists spending like mad while retending it is for a good cause. If anyone still doubts that democrats where just grandstanding when they complained about Bush’s defecit spending, here is the proof that they where liars and would do much worse. We are hosed bigtime. And they will continue to blame Bush, just like they blame Bush for the economic downturn when their paws are all over it, with the help of the MSM of course, for this disaster they are making. And it gets worse:

The larger fiscal issue here is whether this spending bonanza will become part of the annual “budget baseline” that Congress uses as the new floor when calculating how much to increase spending the following year, and into the future. Democrats insist that it will not. But it’s hard—no, impossible—to believe that Congress will cut spending next year on any of these programs from their new, higher levels. The likelihood is that this allegedly emergency spending will become a permanent addition to federal outlays—increasing pressure for tax increases in the bargain. Any Blue Dog Democrat who votes for this ought to turn in his “deficit hawk” credentials.

Can anyone say cllectivist banana republic yet?

Let them all go so they can be movie stars!

Heh. Who would have thunk it! We let them go from Gitmo and they now making al-Qaeda vids. Oh, of course the usual moonbat will tell you, with a serious face and real conviction too, that these honest and good people where driven to this because we put them in Gitmo. The fact they where captured on the battlefield trying to kill our guys totally ignored.  Hey I got an idea! Obama can send all the people in Gitmo to Hollywood! What a coup that would be.....

Finally its OK for US to fight the terrorists…

Well can’t say I was not expecting the MSM to either suddenly or slowly change coverage of US military action, but this WAPO report about a recent US drone missile strike sure sounds like the GWoT suddenly has become a good thing.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Jan. 23—At least 20 people were killed in northwest Pakistan near the border of Afghanistan on Friday in two suspected U.S. missile strikes, marking the first such attack in Pakistan’s tribal areas since President Obama inauguration. A U.S. Predator drone fired three missiles at a compound about two miles from the town of Mirali in the tribal area of North Waziristan about 5:15 p.m., according to a Pakistani security official and local residents. The precision strike leveled a compound, which was owned by local tribal elder Khalil Malik, killing at least 10 suspected militants, including five foreign nationals, according to the Pakistani security official. The site of the attack is about 30 miles east of the Afghan border.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said Malik was killed along with his brother and nephew. Authorities in North Waziristan, however, said they have been so far unable to identify any of those killed because militants immediately cordoned off the area. “I suspect a high-value target may be among the dead,” the Pakistani security official said. Jan Mohammad, a local tribesman, said Malik and his relatives probably died in the strike, which sparked panic among Malik’s neighbors. Mohammad said that Malik was an influential tribal elder but that he was not known to have links with the Pakistani Taliban or other insurgent groups in the area.

There were conflicting accounts about the number of casualties in the first attack. Local residents said there were at least 11 bodies, but Pakistani television channels said 10 were killed

Can you tell what is missing from this report? Let me tell you just in case: no mention of innocent civilian casualties and inferences or direct quotes about the evil of these strikes by the US military. It now looks like because Obama is president that these strikes are again righteous and good and the people dying are no longer all innocent civilians but hard core terrorists. What a difference that letter behind a US president’s name makes. For the MSM (R)s are bad, and (D)s can do no wrong. At least our military is no longer as demonized as it was during the last 7 years.

Regional and intelligence experts say the strikes have improved in precision and have hit several top insurgent commanders in recent months. The notable change in tempo and reported accuracy could be partly attributed to a growing sense of urgency inside the Bush White House as the progress in the seven-year long war in Afghanistan stalled during the waning days of the administration. Samina Ahmed, director of the International Crisis Group in Pakistan, attributes some of the change to increased cooperation between the United States and Pakistan.

Heh! Whatever. No, the only change that really counted was that the MSM knows that Obama is now the C-in-C, and if they keep the tone and talking points they used to, he is just as bad as they accused president Bush of being. So now they are making up excuses to explain away their change in attitude about these strikes and the GWoT as well. Mark my words. Suddenly it will be good that America won in Iraq, and the GWoT will be a good thing. Heck, I have a feeling that sooner than later Guantanamo Bay itself will be a good thing, if not totally ignored by the MSM because nothing has changed there either, simply because we have a new president.

Zardari and other Pakistani officials were critical of the United States in the wake of several missile strikes last year. But there was notable silence in Islamabad about Friday’s missile strikes with few public officials commenting on the attacks.

Yeah, that’s because all these agitators that used to count on the MSM, especially the Bush haters in the West, to report these stories in ways that allowed them to claim victimhood and make the US and president Bush look bad, know better than to expect any of that now that Obama is president. No way the MSM turns on the chosen one just yet. Get used to this. Many of the things they accused Bush of doing and claimed was un-American, vile, evil, fascist, and so on, will not only be tolerated or ignored but suddenly explained as good and necessary because the guy in charge now has the right pedigree. I am certain the people in the US armed forces will not miss these things I bring to light either. And I am also certain they will not forget nor forgive the scumbags that made their jobs so much harder and killed so many of them for political gain either. But that’s neither here nor there. The right guy is now in the WH and at least our armed forces in harms way now get to kill these terrorist bastards without being accused of being baby killers all the time. It is a shame we had to elect a marxist with a low opinion of America for the haters to suddenly feel it is OK to fight back…

Validation!

I have always believed and pointed out that bi-partisanship means different things to the left (democrats) and everyone else. Most people when they hear the word bi-partisanship think about a compromise that reaches somewhere in the middle. Democrats however do not see it this way. To them bi-partisanship means do it our way. Whether we or you are calling the shots, it is never about compromise. Unless you define compromise as they get their way. Obama again proves me right by telling republicans to do only what democrats want.

WASHINGTON—President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration. “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

How about listening to the people? I tend to know what Rush feels about this bail out bonanza, but I don’t agree with him because he told me what to think as Obama seems to be insinuating. I agree with him because he is saying exactly what I already thought about this boondoggle: it is nothing but the democrat party paying back their donors, the people that gave Obama all that cash he used to buy the election, with tax payer money after democrats used their gains in the 2006 election to destroy our economy (and of course blame it on Bush and Wall Street). Don’t just take my word for it. This money and the policy behind it will do absolutely nothing to improve our economy. In fact it will only prolong the recession, if not push us into a depression, because it does not do the most important thing we need right now: job creation and a climate that promotes economic growth.

The Obama administration is poised to pull an FDR like government expansion program that will put us trillions of dollars into debt. Remember how the democrats castigated Bush for this deficit spending and told us they would bring change? Yeah, the change they are giving us is to make the deficit spending of the Bush years look trivial. And the reality is that all that spending will not help anyone but democrats to expand their power. The things that spur economic growth, low taxes, targeted regulations that are not simply government using its power to favor those that donate to the politician’s campaigns, and letting the people pick what they want, are all anathema to the collectivists in power. They would rather America crash & burn, and maybe this is what they wanted from the start, than admit what they believe in is crap.

One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts. “There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats,” the official said. “We shouldn’t let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done.”

What this guy was referring to here is the desire of both democrats and republican politicians to keep their seats at all costs. Basically republicans are being told to step out of the way and let democrats do what they want or else. I am worried too many of these idiot republicans will do just that, play along with the democrats because they believe that they will be allowed to keep their cushy job, and then wonder why they lose their seat anyway come the next election. Democrats play for keeps. They are OK breaking any rule as long as it helps them. Take a look at governor crook Blago, military hater Murtha, Fanny & Freddy crisis bosses Dodd and Franks, tax evader Geithner, and the many adventures of Rangel, racist Reich, and so many others this list would break your browser. Are we at a point yet where we can say the democrats make the republicans look like pikers? Not with the MSM having control of saying so, of course.

The fact of the matter is that these government people are about to waste anywhere from $1 to $5 trillion dollars on stuff that will not improve the economy and create jobs for you and me. This money is being spent to expand the power of government and to reward donors and political insiders. But you will never hear that from the complicit media. Forget Rush Limbaugh. Listen to the American people: this has to stop. Not with my tax money! Bipartisanship my ass. Stop this disaster now.

Change and Hope indeed

When they promised us change and hope I warned many that they where not really promising to do any better than the other side: they where promising to do a lot more of what they accused the other side of doing and hoping not to get caught at it. I guess Murtha wanted to get a head start. He is just another one to be added to the long list that seems to be growing and growing. If this was a republican administration crowded by all this corruption and lying you can bet your ass that the MSM would be all over it. Democrats are getting a pass because it all comes back to their top dog. Change and hope indeed.

If I might point out the obvious…

I just had to laugh when I saw our new president’s most recent comment to the GOP: ”I won”. That is absolutely right. However, I recall president Bush also won twice but the democrats did not go along with that. First they turned the table and concocted one of the most infamous lies ever, that Bush stole the 2000 election, when it was obvious to sane people that the only one that had tried to use an army of lawyers to steal that election, had been Al Gore, whom almost succeeded with the help of a complicit media. The army of Bush haters in the media even eventually had to conclude that the only way they could give Gore the win was if they shredded all recount rules and the constitution. Of course that never stopped them from perpetuating the lies. They used this to force him to reach across the isle only to backstab him over and over despite the fact he was just as big of a big government lover as they where. He just was not one of them. And they did not even extend the courtesy of a reach around! And then when Bush won in 2004 they did everything they could to screw him and blocked every move he made. Even when what he did was the exact same things democrats do. And after the 2006 election does anyone remember the democrats doing anything but things that crippled our economy and blocked president Bush’s every move with even more bile and anger? I don’t think so. ]

So president Obama is dead on when he says that he won, but I for one do not believe in the sudden call for unity coming form the same people that acted like Linda Blair in the movie The Exorcist while the priest was trying to exorcise the demons when Bush was president, and do not read that to mean he gets carte blanche. The left, the democrats, did not honor the fact Bush won, and won twice, at all. Why should the republicans now suddenly be made to play nice? Victor Davis Hanson got it right.

Remember that we are in this economic mess because of government. Scratch that. We are in this economic mess because of some very specific people in government: the ones that demanded banks lend money to buy homes to people that very likely could not pay it back, and then accused anyone that pointed this out and tried to correct it of being motivated by racism. Our economy collapsed as banks came to the realization that they where carrying trillions of dollars of bad loans and that spread like a cancer through everything. Democrats would love you to believe that Wall Street is at the root of this economic crisis, but the reality is that PC government caused it. Get ready to see a lot of this if the current crop of collectivist continue with their anything-but-economic stimulus program. Especially when what they are doing is nationalizing banks and other scams like these. I told you there was no way democrats really thought middle class families made more than $50K, and I guarantee you that $75K tax phase out will come down. $250K my ass. And none of this stuff is going to create any new jobs. What we have here is wealth redistribution. And what the democrats are doing with their stimulus package is moving money from tax payers to their big donors. None of this will fix either the economy or create new jobs, but hey don’t expect your average collectivist journalist in the MSM to point that out. After all, they have spent the last 8 years demonizing and ridiculing the things that do create jobs because those where outdated capitalist ideas. Margaret Thatcher got it right when she said that “The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money”. Americans are about to be reminded of that fact the hard way by this guy reminding us all he won.

Don’t let them fool you!

The big story reported by the media is that, in a big reversal of a firmly held position, the CEO of Exxon suddenly wants a carbon tax, and hence it proves MMGW is true. Nothing could be further from the truth. Exxon is not supporting this carbon tax scam because they suddenly had an attack of contience and had to admit they now believe or always believed that MMGW is real but lied about it. It is about profit making. Remember that our soon to be king has a very green agenda. Both to appease the lunatic fanatics on the left that in the absence of any religious faith have created their own cult - MMGW - in order to add meaning to their meaningless lives and to drastically expand the power of government - collectivism world wide - and tax for as much money as possible. The Obama people have already been talking about a hefty tax that would be put on oil companies because oil, despite being the grease of our modern economy and society, has conveniently been made into an evil thing by to too many. Tillerson’s sudden found green genie, this carbon tax, is nothing but an astute way to help steer government into putting this ludicrous green tax on John-q-Public instead of his corporation. Call it a brilliant chess move. With one stroke of genius he has both played the collectivists in government that want to take away as much money as they can from people - and then of course have government dole it out, inefficiently and at only at a fraction of the real value, but nobody is paying attention to those pesky details, in order to maximize their power grip on people - by giving them this gem, and moved the burden of these cumbersome and oppressive tax away from his company. I bet that even if the kool-aid drinkers figure this out they will go along. The thing is to expand the power of collectivist all encompassing government, and that carbon tax thing does it just fine. As the saying goes, BOHICA: Bend over, Here I come again! we the people are going to get screwed again.

I told you so…

I guess that after they wrecked the economy so they could get people to vote for a weak democrat used car salesman, we should not be surprised that car salesman now is telling us the democrats are going to run deficits that will make even the disastrous spending of the Bush years look tame. And Obama is saying that this is not a temporary thing. Frankly I see thew whole economic mess we are currently in being used as a simple excuse to do what democrats always do: tax & spend. And spend in huge numbers they will. all their complaining about the evil of the Bush years was just tripe. They where simply pissed off president Bush out-collectivisted them, and they are going to correct that with a vengeance. I still do not understand why the left hates president Bush so much. I harbor a suspicion that it is because they realized he was conservative only on foreign policy and a socialist that did exactly what they would do otherwise, and they feel that he infringed on their ideal candidate’s territory. Insanity.

I am now resigned to a very long economic downturn and possibly even such negative change as to make America nothing but another two-bit socialist state like those in western Europe. Of course that is what the left has wanted since forever because they somehow feel if America was no longer great it would be a better place. Not even interested in following that logic, but you get my point. In the mean time the lunatics are already complaining that the crazy guy they put in charge isn’t crazy enough to be runnign the asylum. Heck, after posturing about why and how they would never let such a crook as Blago tarnish their claim to want to change business as usual, they are caving in after just a day or so of posturing and hoping not enough people notice. In the mean time congressional democrats are hard at work doing what they always accuse the other side of doing: stealing another election. Can anyone imagine the media furor over this if we had a republican congress trying to do what these democrats are doing? I guess the media only feels that something wrng is happening when their side does not win. And of course they are not biased at all, so do not insult them by accusing them of such things.

I guess the democrats are soon to wake up and realize that the world is a dangerous place again now that they are in charge. Maybe president Bush will finally get the respect he is due for the things he did get right. Or maybe, and this is what will definitely happen, the democrats will take credit for the things president Bush did get right and they worked so hard to make go wrong - Iraq, Afghanistan, the GWoT, China, and so on - and/or pretend they where for this from the start. Like they did after the USSR collapsed and they all suddenly claimed they had opposed Moscow after trying their best to cripple everything Reagan did to halt the spread of Soviet communism around the globe. and of course they will downplay the real threat of what they where doing too. Like they now downplay the Cold War and how close we all came to planting potatoes for the Ruskies.
