About that McClellan book..
Take a gander over to the WAPO for the real deal about this non-story. In fact let me copy & paste the only relevant line that we all need to keep in mind:
Scott McClellan says he did not set out to write a memoir that was sharply critical of the White House. Indeed, one publishing industry insider described his early concept as “a not-very-interesting, typical press secretary book.”
McClellan wrote a book that the publisher though was boring and likely stood to lose the deal or make no money. So then what happened?
But somewhere between proposal and publication, as McClellan told it yesterday, the scales dropped from his eyes, leading him to write a book that accuses his former boss, President Bush, and his senior aides of abandoning “candor and honesty” to wage a “political propaganda campaign” that led the nation into an “unnecessary war.”
Yeah, sure. What we have here is a boring and mediocre, but greedy, SOB deciding that he was not going to make any money unless he threw a raw steak to the liberals - conservatives where never very impressed with McClellan and thought he had done a piss poor job at best, so they where not going to be a market for the sale of this book at any point - and that is when he had his supposed “scales dropping of his eyes” moment. More like he realized his bank account was gonna be empty. Bob Dole has it right when he rips McClellan a new one for being such a loser. I am left indifferent. The guy is just playing the game. Let him take the idiots for a long walk off a short pier I say.
The libs of course will get their panties in a tizzy over this crap. They will try to make political hay out of this, but I predict again go nowhere fast. And then these moonbats will be left with nothing but more conspiracy theories about the Bush Administration because of their rampant BDS. It will give the usual nut cases something to waste more time on, but in the end it will all be meaningless. McClellan of course is hoping to get some face time, and more importantly, some cash from this. I am sure the libs will fork both over, but in the end he will leave them holding the bag. Heh, these idiots deserve being had.

Worried about the future?
I was talking to a friend last night. The conversation got on the subject of the election and the candidates. My friend was worried about the future. Something I commiserated with him about. But then out of the blue he told me we had some serious problems with our current foreign policy because in the end he believed we have lost in Iraq and that the cost was hurting us economically. I about flipped. I asked him what had given him this impression and was not surprised when he told me that the last time Iraq was in the news it was bad news. And all the news about Iraq is bad news. So I immediately asked him what he had heard in the last few months about Iraq. After some thinking he basically admitted that he had not heard much other than the same collectivist candidates saying Iraq was a lost cause, so he assumed that was the case still.
I was both worried and flabbergasted that a smart and well educated friend of mine, a conservative that supposedly should know the difference between facts and fiction, could have fallen for the propaganda from the anti-American MSM machine. It took me all of 5 minutes to correct this problem however. I basically pointed him to the numerous articles from people in the know & on the ground that where not part of the radical anti-US MSM machine for the facts and walked him through the items. He was surprised to realize that the reason there has not been much news about Iraq recently is because the collectivists in the MSM have realized that Iraq has made a 180 degree turn around, and that despite their efforts to have the US lose this vital conflict out of BDS and dastardly political ideological envy, we are winning, and winning big, not just in Iraq, but in the GWoT. And the war and America hating crowd does not want that news to get out there because they has staked their reputations and political future on America losing. In fact other than saying that they will pull troops out of Iraq, the leading collectivist candidate has not said anything else about Iraq. So I asked my friend what he thought would happen if this retard won and then actually despite all the advice to the contrary from the people that know and are not as naive as he is on real world policy, pulled our troops from Iraq.
He was not sure. I kind of expected this because the same losers in the MSM that are not reporting the good news from Iraq, have done a bang up job of avoiding and even burying the very real problems our withdrawal at this time, when it is clear we have won and even al Qaeda is saying so, would cause. For one it would invigorate a movement that has lost most of its popular support. The brutal tactics of al Qaeda which have killed more muslim citizens than the US (but no lib will ever admit that point) have backfired and turned the population of not just Iraq, but of Afghanistan and now sooner than later Pakistan where they are at it too, against the terrorists. It is one thing to kill crusader invaders, but it is quite another to kill muslims because you can not do battle with the “crusaders” - you lose every time - and are killing civilians in your propaganda campaign that uses the West’s own media. The people of Iraq have noticed the difference. The American and other Western troops they had been told where the bad guys go out of their way to avoid civilian casualties, while the terrorists that claim to be fighting for Islam, kill muslims indiscriminately. The terrorists are seen as a losing bunch, so their cause is losing favor.
Jihad is losing its popularity for the common man, and without that it can not continue effectively. But if we leave Iraq now, despite having won, this will not just re-invigorate the Jihadist. It will send every ally in that neighborhood, and across the world, the message that the US does not stay true to its commitments and can not be relied upon. And it will make it clear to all of them that they will have to accept Iran’s demands that they see it as the regional power, because Iran will have won the biggest victory after the collectivist, America hating, BDS infected, retards that absolutely do not want us to win in Iraq, and do what Iran wants. Can you say $250-350 dollar per barrel oil? A nuclear arms race in the ME as all the countries try to block Iran’s nuclear ascension? The collapse of Western economies because of this run away energy crisis would follow.
And in the end guess who they will demand return to the Middle East to solve this? Only now, instead of having the advantage and a stable friendly nation and a conventional superiority, we will be showing up in an area where everyone believes the US will abandon them as soon as it becomes inconvenient or politically expedient and thus will deny us access to needed assets, under threat of a nuclear war. That is, if we are not being forced to go in after a nuclear exchange has already happened. What is the cost of this going to be?
Of course the moonbats will tell you that things could go the other way and their efforts could finally bring peace to this troubled and greedy world if we but buy into the “Change & hope” crap they are peddling. That’s about as likely as Elvis showing up tomorrow to serenade Marylyn Monroe in DC. All you need to do is to look at how everything the left has done has turned out and realize that in the end, no matter how good their intentions, it causes a calamity and disaster.
My friend has wised up. Unfortunately there are many others out there that do not have the benefit of getting the real facts because they are not able to do the research and continue to get their news from the MSM. We have won a great battle overcoming the MSM lockout, but we are not close to completely wiping out their capability to drive political agenda in favor of the collectivists yet. If you are really worried about the future, you should be worried about these bastards that promise you they have the solution when their solution is only going to make things much worse in the long run.
This is how all collectivist utopian programs to combat “whatever” will work
If you need a good look at how the “Change & Hope” that the collectivist Barak Obama is promising us all will work just take a look at how the people he admires and wishes to emulate are doing with their efforts to combat poverty:
The multibillion-dollar procurement business of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the U.N.’s flagship anti-poverty agency, is a gigantic shambles, according to UNDP’s own investigators. In a confidential report obtained by FOX News, UNDP’s auditors have described the UNDP procurement organization that is spending well over $2 billion annually as:
— overwhelmed by its caseload at headquarters and in the field, while procurement ballooned from $800 million in 2003 to $2.5 billion in 2006 and $2.2 billion last year;
— often failing to provide plans to support its buying activities, which the report says causes many purchases of goods and services to be carried out on an “ad hoc basis” (in fact, more than $595 million worth of non-existent purchases were recorded, although the audit notes that they were not paid for);
— wallowing in shoddy paperwork and faulty bidding processes, which contributed to a “high number of waivers of the competitive process and to quality problems in the procurement process in general”;
— lacking the expertise to evaluate hundreds of millions of dollars worth of its most expensive and important purchases in civic construction and high-tech communications;
— drastically unqualified: Fully half of the organization’s procurement staff around the world were not certified for the basic requirements of their jobs, while the auditors also found the six-hour course for those who were certified to be “inadequate.” Additionally, the auditors noted, “there are entire offices without a single certified buyer”;
— suffering from an “apparent” conflict of interest at the top, where the people charged with vetting the procurement process for flaws are also members of the procurement office staff.
The same potentials for conflict of interest apparently dog local staffers, who, the report says, had not received official guidelines for disclosing their finances and interests, even though a policy demanding those declarations had been issued a year earlier.
Even more ominously, the same auditors point out that UNDP:
— has no sure way of knowing whether it is doing business with organizations that the U.N. itself has condemned for terrorist ties and says UNDP country offices find the current manual system of cross-checking with U.N. terrorist sanctions lists to be “cumbersome and inefficient”;
— has no formal policy for suspending or removing vendors for poor performance or corruption;
— and doesn’t ask new vendors for the identity of their owners or other corporate ties. This raises the possibility that vendors caught out for corruption or poor performance could simply switch names and reapply for approved status.
What you likely do not hear is that all this is deficiency is likely done on purpose. You can not scam big money, well unless you are really smart, if you do good accounting and have strict procedural rules around core issues like spending & allocation of funds. The UN is the worlds largest and most corrupt collectivist organization, maybe the Chinese government beats them out but it is close, and the shining light for the collectivist movement. The model they want to mold the planet into. Basically a good picture of “Hell on earth”. As with all things collectivists do you will basically have massive corruption and massive abuse. And as often as possible the victims will be those least likely to fight back.
Think about this when you hear the collectivist candidates offer you “Hope & Change” the next time. Because this is what they ultimately end up doing when they are put in charge of things. Of course the only vile & evil people are those that work hard and get rich though. If you get rich scamming the people and abusing them but claim to be doing something good, then you are a hero. Collectivism sucks!

HBO mocumentary about the 2000 election right in the middle of the 2008 campaing?
UPDATE:It looks like this attempt to rewrite what really happened and to convince ignorat dolts that the lie democrats have been telling for 8 years now about who tried to steal the 2000 election in Florida bombed, and bombed big time. I can not say how happy I am it did. This thing was disgusting. These nutjobs shamelessly twisted the facts, ignored reality, and manipulated how they presented information in order to re-write what really happened in their favor, and only the usual lib nutjobs believed this pile of crap they tried to pass as a documentary. The fact remains that it was the democrats that tried to steal this election with an army of corrupt lawyers and the stacked Florida Supreme Court and got shut down trying to do it, and then have spent the last 8 years trying to get the lie that it was the other way around to stick in order to make themselves look better. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
My original post:
I just finished watching a complete rewrite of the 2000 election on some HBO hit piece that looks like it was written by the DNC itself in order to pretend that it was not the Gore mandated lawyer assault to circumvent or misinterpret Florida law in favor of the recount shenanigans, a series of corrupt and unrequested rulings to allow the democrat lawyers to circumvent Florida law by the Florida Supreme court, and more disgusting of all, to pretend that what Gore wanted was the counting of all votes when what they really wanted was to only count votes that would help them steal the election. This propaganda piece called “Recount” basically had all the makings of a Michael Moore propaganda hit piece. There are errors of omission, false accusations of misdeeds, and complete and utterly ruthless rewrite of the facts in such a way to make this thing a caricature and a joke. But this is how these bastards again chose to show respect to our troops on Memorial Day.
This joke starts off with a lie that Florida was called for Bush. The truth is that Florida was originally called for Gore – something that cost Bush potentially as many as a quarter of a million votes in the more conservative Florida Panhandle region where voting was still going on in, and something that manifested itself easily in the 2004 election where Florida went red by more almost half a million votes– and did not go for Bush much, until much later. But you would be left with the impression that the only real issue was the media calling that election for Bush. And the lies continue to pile after that.
You only find in passing that the butterfly ballot was a democratic thing, in a democratic county, and that the democrats are the ones that screwed that up. Of course there is excuse after excuse to make you feel the idiots that made the ballot and the ones that where unable to vote correctly where disenfranchised by their own stupidity with no mention whatsoever of the fact that as many as 2% of the vote gets thrown out in any election because of idiots that can not follow directions. So anyone that does not know better is left thinking Gore was robbed when the issue here is that there where so many democrat idiots that could not vote correctly on a ballot from their own people.
Then they start bullshitting about how it was the Bush campaign that went to the army of lawyers – the stupid thing hypes, not once but several times, how Gore could not recruit any lawyers in Florida because of the Bush machine and all their evil shenanigans for example – to try and steal the election they had already won! Oh, but it doesn’t end there. The Gore guys are shown as noble and nice until those evil repuglicans which are trying to steal the election their candidate already won force them to take off the gloves. Then an army of liberal lawyers come in to swamp Florida and paralyze the system. The cry is count every vote. But the real thing you do not get from this propaganda piece is tat the only votes they want counted is the votes that hand Gore a victory.
Then they handle the whole debacle about the highly suspicious and clearly biased recount request & processes in such a way that you can not be left with any doubt that the evil Bush-Hitler’s lawyers are the villains in the whole thing. What? Gore’s lawyers only picked the liberal democrat strongholds to recount? How dare those servants of the dark and evil right wing monster Bush point out that is clearly an attempt to play fast & loose in favorable areas? No mention of the Panhandle and the thousands of votes that where not even cast in order to be counted there. And you should see the machinations this garbage hit piece goes through in order to create the false illusion that all the army of democrats trying their best to steal the election for Gore wanted and where doing was allow every vote to be counted. I was stunned at how they did not even pretend to stay objective, accurate to how the events happened, or went out of their way to present the Bush people as vile and sleazy bastards stealing the election they had already won!
So anyway. They of course bring up the poor disenfranchised minorities that had their vote stolen. Of course it is all bullshit. They have one fictitious guy that was denied a vote because he ended up on a list of felons – doesn’t it figure that the democrats are again up in arms because criminals are not allowed to vote (it tells you something that criminals vote for democrats now doesn’t it?) – and try to pretend that there are thousands of others like him. Of course we all know that is all bullshit. If this had been the case you do know the press would have never, ever, given up on this story and made sure George Bush was removed from office. Of course the usual MSM arms of the DNC did their best to pursue this story and went nowhere with it. But you would never know that from this joke of a mocumentary.

The Florida Supremes are the good guys for ignoring the law, legislating from the bench, and completely and totally trying to help the left steal an election, while the SCOTUS and the Bush lawyers are vile scum that robbed the American people and Gore of their rightful and divinely ordained future. Their big argument why it was OK that the Florida lawyers did what they did? Well they should be allowed to ignore Florida law because in Texas where Bush was governor they do it differently because of the law he signed there which allowed a recount the way the democrats would like to count the votes. But again only in the counties that favor them. When the SCOTUS asks the donkeys why not a recount across the state if they really want to count all votes? They answer that they sure would like to do that but that they then prefer different counting standards in areas that would heavily favor republicans. So again we are shown that the collectivists where rigging the game, but in a good way of course, and it is the fault of the evil Bush-Hitler and his people’s fault! Talk about your mile high bull.
I was left disgusted as I seem to always be when I watch these liberal propaganda pieces. In the end they have rewritten history again to make it look like Bush won illegally and that he did so because of an evil SCOTUS that while populated by a liberal majority, issued a ruling that was not just flawed, but an abominable injustice. These people have no fucking shame. I kid you not. No shame. These people are pathetic. Democrats are the good guys, the only ones that care! And republicans are all vile and evil people motivated by vile and evil things. There isn’t a conservative that is not made to look like the villain. And all the democrats, even the ones you can tell are scum despite this joke of a freak show’s best attempts to make them look likeable and good, are just the best. What a damn joke!
I guess I will have to make sure my kid learns the real facts about what really happened in 2000 – just like I have to do with most history since the collectivists have started rewriting it – from me. There will likely never be an objective and unbiased reporting of what really happened, because then the left would have to admit they are the scum that tried to steal an election. I thank the powers that be every day that they lost. This country would be in real big trouble if these bastards had been in power the last 8 years. Of course we might have only gotten a short respite and not have been saved from the collectivists and their agenda to sink this great nation.

Today is the day that those of us know why America is great & free nation honor those that have faught, and especially those that have died, so that this great nation, and in some sense the world itself, could beat off the yoke of some of the most vile and evil ideologies ever to have threatened mankind with darkness. Thank you for protecting us. Of course we also live in the times where so many have been brainwashed by some of these very evil ideologies themselves in our own nation to forget this very fact. Hard and sad times we live in. And again we have to thank those that are willing to give up there lives to stop these wolves and barbarians from bringing on another dark age upon humanity.

This was no gaffe, this is how these collectivists really think
Everyone that is paying attention by now has heard about Hillary’s commentary about how Bobby Kennedy was shot and the same could happen to Obama and everyone in the press, especially the Obama-is-the-messiah-niacs, are up in arms over it. But the problem is that what we really have here is nothing but another candid moment where a collectivist let down their guard and said something they really believe in but normally would not voice because they know it would freak out sane (and also insane people with an agenda like the Obama-is-the-messiah-niacs of course) people. The left thinks like this constantly: if only the people that stand in their way to power could just meet up with such a fate that they would get out of the way so their superiors could take over. Trust me, if Obama was the one lagging he would be thinking like this too. And I would not be surprised he was thinking like this even while in the supposed lead. Collectivists love doom & gloom shit.
I expect this to be made into a huge brouhaha. Of course if this was a collectivist saying this kind of shit about the opposition’s party’s candidate, this would not have been a story. The MSM has a vested interest here, and that is why this is now a story. Otherwise they would all be given the “these are not the droids you are looking for” Jedi mind trick the press reserves for stories that show the truth about the collectivist agenda they champion. If these collectivists in the press had their way they would have Hillary shot anyway because she is standing in the way of their guilt candidate. Pathetic, this lot of fools. Michelle Obama has said stuff that is just as horrible if not more insulting as Hillary, but we have not had the MSM cooks expose her for he vile beliefs. In fact they have covered up for her. Man, I hope this shit keeps going on until the convention because nothing has done a better job of exposing these scum for what they ar than this identity politics war they got them selves with their black and female candidate. People need to see how destructive the identity politics the collectivists espouse are, and we are getting a real good view of that with this fight.

Thanks again congress!
Guess what the most ethical and concerned Senate we got promised if we just handed the democrats the reigns of power has now done for us? Feh, why not take a look. I thought it was Bush & Cheney that where in the pocket of the oil guys and not interested in doing anything to help the American people. Its not like, you know, if we got more oil produced domestically it would lower the price for us shlobs bleeding for it at the pumps.
The Senate Appropriations Committee today narrowly defeated Sen. Wayne Allard’s attempt to end a moratorium related to oil shale development in Colorado. It was a big day for Colorado energy issues on Capitol Hill as Gov. Bill Ritter testified before a senate committee asking lawmakers to move cautiously on oil-shale development until more is known about the environmental impact and other issues.
Done in by the environmental lobby again. Want to know why you are getting raped at the pump? It is called skeezy politicians beholden to the environmental lobby. And the oil lobby is who gets the bad name. Go freaking figure! But don’t worry! The democrats which are now in charge of Congress have a great plan!
Meanwhile downstairs, the appropriations committee was considering a massive Emergency Supplemental Spending Bill. Allard, a member of the committee, attempted to insert an amendment that would reverse the moratorium that lawmakers approved late last year. The moratorium prevents the Department of Interior from issuing regulations so that oil companies can move forward on oil-shale projects in Colorado and Utah. Allard said the moratorium has left uncertainties at a time when companies need to move forward and in the long term make the United States more energy independent. “If we are really serious about reducing pain at the pump, this is a vote that would make a difference in people’s lives,” Allard argued.
You are damn right there Senator Allard! But the donkeys sure do not want any of that see. Government needs to be controling the hand outs so the people stay beholden. That’s what collectivism ultimately is about. In case you think I am blowing smoke, here is the money quote of that article:
But in a 14-15 vote, the committee spilt strictly on party lines and rejected the amendment. One of the key votes was from Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., who said Sen. Ken Salazar had urged her to reject the amendment even though she personally thinks the moratorium on oil-shale development is unjust.
Talk about a snake tongue. Oh she, and all those other donkeys are Oh-So concerned for us peasants! They agree that the moratorium is bad, but they still block it. Got to wonder why right? I bet it has to do with all the MMGW shit they have been going along with the environut groups with. Can’t suddenly start getting shale oil if you think oil will wipe out humanity in a couple of decades. Oops I forgot. It’s 100 years now because MMGW is causing global cooling for the next decade or so. Freaking morons. But don’t despair!
Landrieu vowed to try to lift the moratorium when the large appropriations bill reaches the floor of the U.S. Senate in coming weeks.
How freaking noble! Bet she is doing this hoping they then repay her later and allow drilling of the coast of LA as well. Lots of oil there people. And getting that stuff out means lots of money for greedy local corrupt politicians to get their tentacles on. She is not doing this to help us shlobs. She is doing this because she hopes to collect later and collect big. Oh how well this most ethical congress serves us. Crap, I think the republicans sucked back when they had the reigns of power, but I do not remember them being this good at screwing us. I guess this must be more of that change Barak has promised us?

About time…
I am surprised that it took the Pentagon this long to finally realize the risk they where taking with ICs manufactured in countries that we might not be seeing eye-to-eye with. If you have no control over the entire process of who is building your ICs, especially when they are done in a foreign county, you are opening up Pandora’s box. Want to see an understatement?
Feeding those dreams is the Pentagon’s realization that it no longer controls who manufactures the components that go into its increasingly complex systems. A single plane like the DOD’s next generation F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, can contain an “insane number” of chips, says one semiconductor expert familiar with that aircraft’s design. Estimates from other sources put the total at several hundred to more than a thousand. And tracing a part back to its source is not always straightforward. The dwindling of domestic chip and electronics manufacturing in the United States, combined with the phenomenal growth of suppliers in countries like China, has only deepened the U.S. military’s concern.
Recognizing this enormous vulnerability, the DOD recently launched its most ambitious program yet to verify the integrity of the electronics that will underpin future additions to its arsenal. In December, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Pentagon’s R&D wing, released details about a three-year initiative it calls the Trust in Integrated Circuits program. The findings from the program could give the military—and defense contractors who make sensitive microelectronics like the weapons systems for the F‑35—a guaranteed method of determining whether their chips have been compromised. In January, the Trust program started its prequalifying rounds by sending to three contractors four identical versions of a chip that contained unspecified malicious circuitry. The teams have until the end of this month to ferret out as many of the devious insertions as they can.
How good will those F-22s or F-35s be if they go up against Chinese aircraft and they use a backdoor switch to negate all it’s electronics and thus its advantages? How good will your AEGIS shield or your land based THAAD work when they can be subjected to the same? Not good. I am worried that this might already be to little too late. With a huge amount of Internet routers now being illegal Chinese clones, what is the risk for that infrastructure should they compromise it? How much will the process to vet these many chips cost us? Will it in the end come out to be a lot more than the savings from outsourcing this critical technology? I can guarantee you that if it costs us a conflict it will not have been worth the supposed savings. Maybe we should rethink the cost of these items, especially when they are defense related, after the fact?

The lies about what went on at Tuskegee need to be addressed
With the whole furor in the news these days about Obama’s loony preacher Wright and his crazy beliefs, the subject of the Tuskegee experiments on syphilitic black males and the ridiculous lies about how it was done on purpose have popped up again. Primarily by idiot libs that want to justify the ridiculous assertions by Rev. Wright’s about how AIDS was a US government manufactured disease to kill blacks. I was going to write about this whole ridiculous lie, but Jonah Goldberg beat me to it and did a much better job about it too..
He basically debunks this whole stupid lie that the US government purposefully infected black males with syphilis to conduct a study. That is a lie. Nobody infected people on purpose. Infected males where chosen and then studied for 40 years to understand the spread of syphilis. Nobody can deny that government power was basically misused. But who was government and why did they have no qualms doing this kind of thing? Jonah gets it right:

Liberals like to invoke Tuskegee as if it’s solely an indictment of what other people did, proof that we need more progressive government. But Tuskegee was in fact the poisoned fruit of progressive government.

And the spinning begins..
The MMGW alarmist cult has run into some really nasty problems recently. Most of it is related to the real data and unmanipulated facts showing that the world is cooling off, and that their predictions of global catastrophe within the next decade is as likely as my chances to win the lottery when I buy no tickets. Of course that will not dissuade them from continuing to predict that the sky is falling and that only they have the answer - global socialist government to address social injustices - to this woe. But too many people are seeing that the emperor is wearing no clothes, and abandoning the cause because it is even too hard for all but the most fanatical to keep believing the lies. So how do you keep the momentum going? Well you make up shit about why we have only been given a temporary reprieve from a horrible fate.
April 30 (Bloomberg)—Parts of North America and Europe may cool naturally over the next decade, as shifting ocean currents temporarily blunt the global-warming effect caused by mankind, Germany’s Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences said.
Average temperatures in areas such as California and France may drop over the next 10 years, influenced by colder flows in the North Atlantic, said a report today by the institution based in Kiel, Germany. Temperatures worldwide may stabilize in the period.
The study was based on sea-surface temperatures of currents that move heat around the world, and vary from decade to decade. This regional cooling effect may temporarily neutralize the long- term warming phenomenon caused by heat-trapping greenhouse gases building up around the earth, said Richard Wood, a research scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre, a U.K. provider of environmental and weather-related services.
