Michael Ledeen on those Iranian elections

Michael Ledeen has again put into words what I have been trying to point out about the recent Iranian elections: they are fixed, and fixed from the start, so buyer beware. We must resist the urge to speculate on the elections based on the false belief that Iran is a democracy. It is not. Iran is a hard core dictatorship run by an oligarchy of supposedly religious people. Some would call it a theocracy, but the bastards claiming to be religious leaders are far from being anything but evil men with dreams of conquest & Iranian brand Islamic domination of the entire globe. So these elections do not reflect the will of the people - the will of the people has not existed since the Iranian revolution took place in 1979 and these tyrants took over - but the will of the top mullahs:

The Iranian electoral ritual doesn’t tell us what the people want; it tells us what the tyrants have decided. This time, the decision had to do with the very intense power struggle going on inside the regime, catalyzed by the recent evidence of the worsening health of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In considerable pain from his cancer, for which he consumes a considerable quantity of opium syrup, Khamenei recently was forced to spend 2-3 days in a Tehran hospital after complaining of a loss of feeling in his feet and breaking out in a cold sweat. His doctors told him several months ago that he was unlikely to survive much past the end of March, and he seems to be more or less on schedule.

.....

With Ahmadinejad, the mullahs bared their fangs to us. Convinced they were winning in Iraq, foreseeing the destruction of Israel, the domination of Lebanon, a jihadist reconquista in Afghanistan and the expansion of their domain into the Horn of Africa, they gave us the face of the unrepentant conqueror. He’s played his role well, and he will continue to play it. Just yesterday he proclaimed that Iran has become “a nuclear power,” leaving us to wonder exactly what that means. Is it the bomb? Or is it a technical advance that will lead to a bomb? Whatever it means, it’s an act of defiance, a reassertion of Iran’s will to prosecute the twenty-seven year old war they have waged against us ever since Khomeini’s seizure of power.

The war policy is not in dispute among the rulers of Iran, whether they call themselves reformers or hard-liners. Nor is the decision to use the iron fist of the regime against any and all advocates of freedom for the Iranian people. What is decidedly at the center of the current fighting within the regime — a fight that has already produced spectacular assassinations, masqueraded as airplane crashes, of a significant number of military commanders, including the commander of the ground forces of the powerful Revolutionary Guards — is the Really Big Question, indeed the only question that really matters: Who will succeed Khamenei?

And there you have it. These elections were about who will be the next top dog, and the message to Ahmadinejad was that he will not be that man. While it is not clear whom they think should get that top job, I expect Ahmadinejad to not take this rebuke lying down. In my opinion this nutjob really believes the role he is playing, and I can see him turning on his handlers. Hopefully we take advantage of this and do whatever we can to destabilize the Iranian government as much as we can while at the same time give help to those resisting this government and trying to get Iran out from under the yoke of these evil bastards. At this time when Ahmadinejad is claiming that Iran is a nuclear power - a bold lie because that will not happen if Israel, the main target of the Iranian regime, has anything to say about it - and also telling us that America, Great Britain and Israel will vanish of the face of the earth like the Pharaonic Egyptians, freeing the Iranian people from these lunatics would go a long way to preventing the coming nuclear conflict in the Middle East.

Of course after the election..

Well we finally get told that it looks Sandy berger did steal documents related to how the Clinton Administration handled terrorism so the 9-11 commission would not be forced to point out they never took it seriously and in fact went out of their way to ignore it. Scooter Libby is under indictment for supposedly not telling a partisan hack conducting an investigation for a culprit he knew didn’t exist - Richard Armitage came clean and identified himself as the source of the Plamegate leak at the very start of that waste of an investigation that was looking into the ridiculous accusation the WH had purposefully disclosed the identity of the CIA’s own James-Bond-like agent (that was sarcasm for you libtards) as payback for Joe Wilson’s campaign of orchestrated lies (and I remain convinced this was a CIA operation to undermine the WH) - but this crook got off with a $50K fine for stealing secret documents to cover up the Clinton Admin’s blunders. And of course we only get the news after the election so it doesn’t remind the people that the donkeys do not take national security as seriously as they take getting back into power and bringing more socialism to the gullible public to secure that hold on power. What a shame.

More on Iran

There is a lot of pap, like this one, going around about how Ahmadinejad suffered a real loss in last weeks elections, but I tell you do not buy into it. Iran is not a democracy. Elections are meaningless when ruthless power-hungry dictators like Ahmadinejad can use force to keep power. And it is important to mention he seems to have the backing of the military which seems to share his nuclear dream of revolution:

Speaking at a ceremony in Imam Hussein (AS) Military University to honor researchers in IRGC’s symbol, he [Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi] said, “The Middle East region and whole the world are now passing through a developing course at a sensitive juncture in history. Without practical research in congruence with defense, security and cultural requirements, we will fail to defend the Islamic Revolution, the political system, the nation and the country in all respects.”

“Defending the Islamic revolution” is code for forcing Iranian Islamic rule on the world. Consequently wanting nuclear weapons capability to “defend” the revolution translates to using them to spread that revolution. Ahmadinejad and his followers want this conflict. Unlike the USSR during the Cold War and now China/North Korea in our new and yet unmentioned Cold War of the 21st century which worshipped at the altar of communism/socialism and wanted their rewards here on earth, these Islamic fanatics believe their reward can come from a win on this earth, and even if they die wiping out those opposed to their cause, in the afterlife. That is the danger we never faced before. An enemy that feels they still win even if they are wiped out in a conflict they have told us they are eager to get going and from which they can not be negotiated to ever give up.

Greatest op-ed: must read.

Check out what Aryaan Hirsi Ali has to about that conference in Tehran. It is illuminating. When the shit finnally hits the fan, this woman will be hailed as a saint for her efforts to warn us about the coming holocaust. Pity that the citizenry of the country that adopted her, and for that matter all those in the other secular socialist dungeons around it, have no clue how bad their future looks. Nothing will help stupid people get over guilt and inadequacy like a few good beheadings.

Reality check!

It seems that the UN’s scare campaign to force panicked people to buy into their one world giant socialist government has been given a a harsh setback, likely because real scientists are divulging pesky facts like cow farts producing more CO2 than anything man does:

Meet the world’s top destroyer of the environment. It is not the car, or the plane, or even George Bush: it is the cow. A United Nations report has identified the world’s rapidly growing herds of cattle as the greatest threat to the climate, forests and wildlife. And they are blamed for a host of other environmental crimes, from acid rain to the introduction of alien species, from producing deserts to creating dead zones in the oceans, from poisoning rivers and drinking water to destroying coral reefs.

How long do you think it will be before someone at the UN demands we cull the cow herds, completely ignoring that we have herds of cows to feed people? Anyway, the problem is that despite the fact that it is becoming obvious man isn’t the biggest contributor/creator of the gasses the UN loves to use as a measurement for why we are all doomed to live in a world that turns into a tropical paradise, they continue to make the case that man is the reason global warming occurs.

Mankind has had less effect on global warming than previously supposed, a United Nations report on climate change will claim next year.  The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says there can be little doubt that humans are responsible for warming the planet, but the organisation has reduced its overall estimate of this effect by 25 per cent.

I have no doubt that in the grand scheme of things man’s contribution to climate change is negligible, but when the real agenda - and all you need to look at is the fact that every UN solution is a socialist economic boondoggle designed to destroy the most effective capitalist economy in the world: the US economy – is to usher in a one-world-socialist-government which the bureaucrats at the UN of course will lead to handle this invented problem. Otherwise we would be acknowledging that the sun is the likely culprit – temperatures on Venus & Mars have gone up by the same 1 degree we have measured on Earth, and last I checked we have no people on either of those planets, and while some of the usual retards may claim the Mars rovers could qualify as SUVs, they do not have a combustion engine.

Take global warming seriously the day we start hearing about engineering/technical solutions – like a drive to switch us to gasified coal and/or clean new nuclear energy generation to reduce emissions that targets both the modern Western economies as well as the emerging economies of countries like China and India – instead of the socialist economic ones the UN is spouting these days. Until then, remember what the real agenda is: to break the US economy, plunge the world into a recession, and then get a big socialist government to redistribute the wealth and make the UN bureaucrats the new ruling class. Considering the way they have plunged everything they have touched into corruption, chaos, and caused nothing but suffering & death, I am loath to see this happen.

What a joke

Of course the anti-semitic scumbag French which were coerced to volunteer troops for UN operations in Lebanon to help stabilize that government and nation, keep Syrian & Iranian operatives from again working to enslave the Lebanese people which are just pawns in their proxy war with the west, and to disarm Hizbollah and prevent new arms from being shipped to them, have done none of these things. But the French of course are getting though with them pesky Jews:

In an effort to put a stop to Israeli overflights in Lebanon, the French Armed Forces has deployed an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) squadron in southern Lebanon to conduct intelligence-gathering missions in place of the IDF.

France, a member of UNIFIL, has expressed adamant opposition to IAF overflights in Lebanon. Last month, OC Planning Division Maj.-Gen. Ido Nehushtan traveled to Paris for meetings with senior military officials during which he tried to explain Israel’s operational needs. The flights, the IDF claims, are necessary for gathering intelligence and keeping an eye on the Lebanese-Syrian border through which weapons are smuggled to the Hizbullah.

The problem is that as long as the IDF can overfly the country, they can collect proof that the French & the UN are not only refusing to enforce the agreement they are there to actually enforce, but have actively helped Iran’s proxy troops - Hizbollah - to rearm. Of course I also bet the French are looking to profit from this. If anyone has ever truly earned the appellation of evil arms merchants willing to sell their mother’s souls to the devil to make cash, it is the French.

According to Israeli defense sources, the French initiative is also meant to prove the operational capabilities of its UAVs so they can compete against Israeli defense industries on the global UAV market.

While welcoming the use of UAVs as part of UNIFIL operations in Lebanon, a high-ranking officer said Sunday that the IDF would not stop flying over Lebanon.

I hope the Israeli shoot these things down and then shoot at these stupid French troops when they again paint their aircraft with their gear. Nothing says “We are a cowardly bunch of losers and we surrender” better than the French. These are the people the lefties in our country believe we should be asking permission from to defend our interest. Mais non!

Never met an enemy they couldn’t strike a deal with?

It seems the democrats have never met an enemy they could not bargain with. Must be part of that syndrome that imparts the belief everything can be talked and compromised on, no matter what the cost or consequences or at stake, that runs rampant in the one world order socialist BDS infected left. No wonder the socialists ion Europe are giddy that these people won the last election. Like them, the donkeys are willing to sell their soul - well their mother because these lefties do not succumb to such idiotic beliefs as religion, unless it is that religion that worships the “teachings of Marx” above all else, if you believe what they tell you - for any deal that gets them liked and gives the illusion of a solution. No matter how temporary, ephemeral, or costly that illusion may end up being. Case in point Clinton’s “negotiations” with North Korea that paid blackmail money and allowed them to build nukes anyway. Then we have of course the world ignoring the genocide that happened in Rwanda. After the fact we got some glorious speeches about why this should never happen again and of course the signature “I feel your pain” teary apologies. Shame that lesson didn’t count for those oppressed and brutally murdered by Saddam in Iraq, even though they now demand we do something in Darfur. Well they were demanding action until it was pointed out Somalia did have oil as well and then because the US could benefit for that this issue is all but gone underground. Oh, and don’t forget and a slew of UN actions that are always accompanied by a lot of talk, but are always light on action and cost lives. And not to be forgotten, in this string of failures that involved cheap talk: the current idiotic call to negotiate with Iran & Syria on Iraq. I guess the left only hates butchers & feels we should not compromise with them if they are pro-American. If it wasn’t that we are all going to suffer because of these idiots I would actually welcome the calamity they are assuring comes our way in the very near future.

And the beat goes on..

Well nobody should be surprised that since we are talking about Louisiana, the most corrupt stronghold run by the embedded socialist donkeys in this nation, eventually we would find out the fraud would top $1 billion. That is business as usual in that state. The levees had problems in the first place because so much of the funding and work done for it also suffered from this very corruption. It was also why evacuations prior to the hurricane were handled poorly, and relief efforts after the hurricane were done so badly. But of course the donkey lackeys in the MSM did a great job confusing people and thus were able to blame FEMA - which relies on local preparations and is there solely to provide cash - and eventual George Bush’s himself. After all, we know it was Karl Rove’s hurricane making satellite that created Katrina and sent it to NO to kill just the blacks. Think anyone in the MSM will make this simple connection - Louisiana is a cesspool and the reason Katrina was so devastating was that the leaders there are all corrupt and incompetent socialists - and state the obvious? I am not betting on it. In the mean time us tax payers keep throwing pearls at these swines.

NKs playing the game

Nobody said the nut jobs in NK were dumb. Case in point their latest statement that the US has nukes squirreled away in South Korea and they will not give up their program until they are pulled. Think about it. How can you effectively prove there are no nukes to their satisfaction? You let them have inspectors on the ground? What a military intelligence bonanza that would be for them! Suddenly they can demand to see what is going on at every military installation, under the pretext of looking for nukes of course, and send any number of spies and even saboteurs to have at it. Tell them they will get limited access or no access, and they score a big political/propaganda win by claiming that it has to be so you can hide or move the nukes! In short this is a lose-lose proposition and neither we nor the SKs will ever agree to it. So the NKs now get to say well since you refuse to provide us with absolute proof, we simply will continue to operate under this assumption and continue our programs. That is unless you break down and finally do what we really want which is pay us huge amounts of blackmail graft and allow us to go back to doing whatever we want - drugs, weapon sales to dangerous regimes, printing billions of fake US dollars each year, and whatever other nefarious crimes they want - while we secretly just go ahead and build our bombs anyway like we did the last time Clinton & Carter gave us a pass. I hope we make it clear we will be “shipping” those nukes their way soon if they do not cooperate. They are getting desperate over there. Must be because we banned their I-Pods and digital TVs.

On the ISG commission, Iraq, Iran and the GWoT

Lately I have been discussing Iraq and the role it plays in our GWoT with lots of people, and unfortunately I am sensing so many of them are either not grasping what is at stake or involved here and why the only way to win is to escalate and expand the conflict to break the people supporting the chaos in Iraq, or are tired and no lonnger care for the GWoT since there has not been another attack against us. The vaunted ISG has offered nothing new. I didn’t expect anything however from people that want to go back to the days of the Cold War when you acted friendly towards and tollerated & negotiated even with those that wanted to slit your troat. All because the greater goal was to keep the fight against the USSR going. Except the USSR has now been suplanted by radical islam and they are calling we negotiate with the biggest an nastiest of the exporters of that evil: Iran. Oh yeah, and of course we should throw Israel under the bus while we are at because that will please the bloodthirsty barbarians. Plain and simply crazy & stupid.

Anyway, Andrew McCarthy has an absolutely brilliant piece at NRO discussing why we need to fight and expand the conflict:

There is only one good reason for American troops to be in Iraq. It is the reason we sent them there in 2003: To fight and win the “war on terror” — i.e., the war against radical Islam — by deposing rogue regimes helping the terror network wage a long-term, existential jihad against the United States. You can argue that Iraq was the wrong rogue to start with; but destroying radical Islam’s will and its capacity to project power is what the war is about.

Iraq is but a single battlefield in that war. It is not “the war.” Stabilizing or even — mirabile dictu! — democratizing Iraq is not winning the war. It is the overseas equivalent of rebuilding the World Trade Center. The hard reality is that war exacts a terrible toll and its fallout must be addressed. This is why we hate war and resort to it only in the face of greater evils. But cleaning up war’s unavoidable messes is not the same as winning.

Winning the war means taking on the regimes and factions that are waging it. That is what the president promised to do after 9/11. “You’re with us or you’re with the terrorists.”

Why in hell would we negotiate with the very top candidate on the axis of evil list? Why would we reward Iran for undermining Iraq and waging a stead 27 year war against us? Why should we do things that would guarantee a nuclear armed Iran which then protected by that nuclear umbrella can do magnitudes worse than what it does today? Anyone really expecting that Iran will somehow become a stabilizing factor needs to explain to me what Iran gains from helping us. And spare me the bull about how Iran wants to play nice but we are the ones making it impossible. The Iranian leadership is fighting a proxy war against us and hell bent on taking us head on eventually, and nothing else will dissuade them from this path. Well nothing short of being dead and unable to continue this policy.

“Death to America” is not just a slogan for our enemies. It’s a deeply held conviction, on which they are feverishly acting. Only when we are ready to take them seriously, when our leaders’ brave words are matched by determined deeds, can we win — in Iraq and, more importantly, in the greater war.

Keep that in mind when weariness lets you think a “negotiated” solution is possible. As I have often pointed out: we might not want this war but the enemy does and hence we will fight it. We have the choice of doing it on our terms and winning or on theirs, and while we might still win pay a horendous price, or even losing. I for one do not want to contemplate the scenario where we lose.
