Same old, same old..

As another election approaches I am not surprised to see another liberal hit peice, a book by Woodard, claiming fighting terrorism in Iraq is a lost or bad cause. Anyone doubt that while the left is not saying so they really believe fighting terrorism at all is wrong? Don’t be fooled. The left does not believe in fighting. These are the people that love the UN because all they do is talk. Of course the NYT immediately and with its usual bias is offering us all this wisdom as factual, it is basically a lot of after the fact second guessing & meaningless exercises at pointing fingers for political purposes without ever suggesting any valid alterantives or solutions other than the usual we libs know Iraq is a mistake and we want to cut & run, without any counter analysis to point out this is a hit job and nothing else. It is full of innuendo and an attempt to create that parallel the left has craved with Vietnam. Don’t you know the Bushies talk to Kissinger?? Sounds to me like Woodward is pinning for another big story like his Nixon one and is grasping at straws.

Thank the lord this time the WH is not simply letting it go unchallenged and is pointing out Woodward is just trying to show he is a good lib. But this AP piece too doesn’’t address the obvious bias. Have no doubt about it: this is a political hit job and nothing else. We get the same crap the left has been giving us the last 2 years: Iraq is a mistake, we are losing, it is Vietnam all over, there have been mistakes and we want you to replace Bush with us because he isn’t perfect (they just really want power back), America is evil, America must leave Iraq. Blah, blah, blah. I expect this to get a ton of positive coverage from the MSM because it is regurgitating exactly the stuff they do, but I bet there isn’t anything new or helpful in it other than the belief we should let people that want to repeat Vietnam take power. Keep in mind that the left isn’t really offering any solutions but is resorting to simply massive criticism in the hopes enough people lose hope and bail. Time will tell how effective this crap is, but I have a feeling it is going to backfire on the libs.

Donkeys ready to pounce on NIE claim Iraq created more terrorism.

Yeah, the donkeys are all up in arms after the NYT again leaked secrets, of course for the same purely political reasons it has done so every time which is to undermine the Bush Administration and help democrats, and want to point out their claims of why Iraq was such a disaster have now been vindicated because the NIE claims Iraq has served as a recruitment tool for al Qaeda. Funny how these donkeys want us to believe al Qaeda had no connection to Iraq before 9-11 but suddenly after the Iraqi war decided Iraq was critical in their war against the Western world huh? Anyway, Andrew C. McCarthy’s has a brilliant piece over at NRO discussing the reality of the situation. Of particular interest is the fact Osama believed and claimed that Iraq was the reason they wanted to kill Americans back in 1998.

The 1998 fatwa is readily available (find it here, for example) and worth studying. Here is some of why bin Laden said all Americans needed killing (italics are mine):

The Arabian Peninsula has never … been stormed by any forces like the crusader armies now spreading in it like locusts, consuming its riches and destroying its plantations….

[F]or over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples.… The best proof of this is the Americans’ continuing aggression against the Iraqi people using the Peninsula as a staging post[.]…[D]espite the great devastation inflicted on the Iraqi people by the crusader-Zionist alliance, and despite the huge number of those killed, in excess of 1 million… despite all this, the Americans are once against trying to repeat the horrific massacres, as though they are not content with the protracted blockade imposed after the ferocious war or the fragmentation and devastation. So now they come to annihilate what is left of this people and to humiliate their Muslim neighbors.

[T]he Americans’ aims behind these wars are religious and economic, the aim is also to serve the Jews’ petty state and divert attention from its occupation of Jerusalem and murder of Muslims there. The best proof of this is their eagerness to destroy Iraq, the strongest neighboring Arab state[.]… All these crimes and sins committed by the Americans are a clear declaration of war on God, his messenger, and Muslims. And … jihad is an individual duty if the enemy destroys the Muslim countries.

So, yes, Osama bin Laden claimed in 1998 that President Clinton’s policy was a “continuing aggression against the Iraqi people”; a “devastation” that continued the “horrific massacres” of the 1991 Gulf War. For the world’s leading jihadist, Clinton’s purported “eagerness to destroy Iraq” was the “best proof” of America’s intentions toward the Islamic world. None of it was true, of course, but that didn’t stop him from saying it.

Osama considered Iraq to be a key motivation of why the Jihadi needed to wage war against the West. Would it not make sense that once the West brought the war to Iraq the Jihadi would have a tacitcal need to go fight there? After all, if the West won that conflict their cause was toast. Sounds like we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t to me. So while Iraq has served to attract and recruit Jihidis, it has also focused the Jihads and made them fight in Iraq, a fight they have lost but continue to fight simply because they hope the lunatic left will eventually force us to cut & run and hand them a victory by default, rather than attack us here in the US. The proof that the left has been emboldening the Jihadi is indisputable, and is not given a pass.

It is bad enough when the Muslim charlatans opportunistically use American policies they don’t like for militant propaganda purposes. It is reprehensible when American politicians do it.

The left, just so it can get back into power, has chosen to make America fail in Iraq. Their campaign has been to claim Iraq distracted us from the WoT when it has exactly focused the Jihadi offensive in a place away from us. They want us to believe that if we leave Iraq the terrorists will not come here next. I certainly am not stupid enough to believe they can do anything to prevent that from happening if we are forced to leave Iraq and only a delusional fool would think America will face less danger with us leaving Iraq. The left should never be rewarded for this disastrous policy. In the end we Americans will pay for this crap. It is shameful that one our political parties has staked its rise to power on endangering all our lives.

Update: Check out Jules Crittendon, city editor of the Boston Herald’s brilliant disection of the mendacity of the NYT’s and other liberal MSM outlets in their coverage of the NIE report. An exelent read that shows again how the NYT seems to be completely motivated by its partisan blinders.

This is what Iran has started..

Guess what has happened now that Arab states are realizing the West seems impotent and unable to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon and they worry about letting the radical non-Arabs in Iran get nukes: they all want their own bombs.

President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday called for Egypt to pursue nuclear energy, as the US ambassador said Washington would be willing to help its Mideast ally develop a peaceful program.

Mubarak echoed a call made earlier this week by his son, Gamal, who many believe is being groomed to succeed his father. The proposal surprised some, who saw it as a jab at the United States, which is locked in a confrontation with Iran over its nuclear program.

“We must increase our exploitation of new energy sources, including the peaceful uses of nuclear energy,” President Mubarak said in a televised speech at the closing session of a three-day conference of his ruling National Democratic Party.

Yeah sure, it is all for “peaceful” energy purposes. This is them basically telling Iran we will not let you be the only country with the bomb. Saudi Arabia and any and all of those rich emirates are right around the corner too. Anyone still deluding themselves that the situation in which the West lets Iran go nuclear can somehow be managed or contained?

In the mean time those wild & crazy Iranian guys want us to know they are ready to repel any and all attacks against their peaceful energy program. Because they don’t really need a bomb you know. There is a strom brewing and the pacifists and socialists/communists will make sure we do nothing about it until it starts destroying everything around us.

Playing games..

I swear these people just can not let it go. MSNBC is running an article about a study done by scientists that has concluded in recent years our oceans have cooled. But do they just report on that conclusion by this study? Of course not, they barely glance over it and simply resort to the same liberal global warming bull we get every time.

Despite the long term warming trend seen around the globe, the oceans have cooled in the last three years, scientists announced today.

The temperature drop, a small fraction of the total warming seen in the last 48 years, suggests that global warming trends can sometimes take little dips.

In the last century, Earth’s temperature has risen about 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.56 degrees Celsius). Most scientists agree that much of the warming in the past 50 years has been fueled by the burning of fossil fuels and other human activities.

Three paragraphs full of personal opinions and liberal bull. If you want some real facts about global temperature changes, amongst many other things, that are not just politically motivated - practically everything about the Global Warming movement is based on socialist ideology and an attempt to frighten people into believing that these changes are man made, and hence, can only be solved by big socialist government taking over everywhere - and which are scientific, then I recommend JunkScience.com, which does a real good job of keeping the politics, except for exposing the politics driving the left, from the science. And that claim in that third paragraph, that “Most scientists agree that much of the warming in the past 50 years has been fueled by the burning of fossil fuels and other human activities” is one of the most preposterous lies I have ever heard. In fact I guarantee you that most scientists, the real kind that believes science is not a political tool for socialism but to uncover the truth and facts, will tell you that they are not certain what is responsible for the temperature changes and that if anything they would have to go with heightened solar activity being much more likely to be what is responsible for the hike over man any day.

Anyway back to the rest of this joke of an article. The only think that was observed was that ocean temperatures have dropped. The researchers have no clue why. But our global warming experts have no doubt that all this is is a simple glitch in the machine because well, global warming isn’t a steady occurrence. Anyone see the stupidity there? Since this planet created a semi-stable environment some 3 billion years ago there is one thing I can guarantee you it is that temperatures hhave varied drastically. Long before man and his SUVs started destroying this planets persisting and fixed temperatures, that tragedy is according to the global warming enthusiast not me, we had countless ice ages that covered the entire northern hemisphere in sheets of ice three miles thick while at other times the North Pole was a tropical paradise. Global temperatures change. They change because as we hurl around in space the energy from the sun changes either because of increased or decreased solar activity, other planetary and space conditions, or combinations of the two. Man has nothing to do with this crap unless we are talking about hot air from socialists that want to frighten us all into letting them take over the world.

Getting though with Iran? Shya right!

Well it looks like that circus in Turtle Bay, anybody that missed Chavez clowning around and him now running home was deprived of some great insight into the soul of why the UN is simply a corrupt and totally useless failure, is planning on keeping the show going and is again huffing and puffing the billionth line they have draw in the send and told Iran not to cross.

UNITED NATIONS — The nations seeking to halt Iran’s nuclear activities are working out a new deadline for the Islamic republic and have authorized the European Union’s foreign policy chief to go anywhere at any time to meet Teheran’s top nuclear negotiator.

Despite the possible new accommodations, diplomats said they’re not willing to wait much longer for Iran to respond more definitively to their package of incentives to stop uranium enrichment.

The UN isn’t seeking to halt Iran’s nuclear activities. It is wasting our time precisely because it has made it very clear to Iran that the UN will do nothing substantial to really put the screws to the dictators in Teheran and convince them they mean business when they say Iran will not be allowed to build nukes. The Iranians will have a ball leading these retards in circles and then will simply shrug off any and all of the UN posturing because they know the UN can do absolutely nothing to stop them. I thought we would never again make the errors that led up to WWII, especially in the nuclear age, but I see the failures of Neville Chamberlain, the League of Nations, and the entire “Peace in our time” idiocy all over again. Maybe we need to take Chavez’s suggestion and send the UN packing to Venezuela where that bunch of liars, and nincompoops would fit in fine.

When voter fraud is the only way yoou can win elections..

As I expected the House democrats did their best to prevent a bill that would require a photo ID from voters but in the end the House yesterday passed legislation that would require voters to show a valid photo identification in federal elections. AMEN! I have to give my drivers license to deposit a check. Most places where you use your credit cards ask for you ID. But anyone voting can simply do so. I guess when vote and vote often, especially if you are illegal or dead, is key to racking up number for you, you will oppose anyone checking to make sure the voter is whom they claim to be.

More proof of why the UN is nothing but a platform for dictators.

Well, Chavez manages to prove to me that the evil and corrupt UN is nothing but a waste of time again as he regales the despots that comprise the bulk of its membership and supporters with fantasies about Bush. I guess he really wanted to impress his buddies in Iran or make Ahmadinejad look nice. This must be some more of that “Dialog” the lefties are always telling us we need more of with despotic and evil people. Wonder what good it does anyone.

Who are the real hucksters?

The world oil markets are finally snapping back from the insanity that drove the per barrel oil prices to rediculously high numbers, something that was blamed on the petro-industrial-military complex by the lefty loons and on the big oil companies by too many others, and guess whom seems to thing they need to take action because they are not happy with this shift? Think any of these conspiracy nuts will ever lay blame where it belongs? Nah, BDS prevents just too many of these moonbats from thinking anyone else is at the center of anything they don’t like or fear. And the others like to stick it to big oil too much because they are jealous they do not have large quantiles of that stock. Go figure. How long before the nutjobs in Iran or Venezuela declare they want to nuke someone or invade their neighbors so they can scare the speculators into driving the prices back up?

Will this guy will be toast?..

How long before Dr. Bill Gray, who is a professor at Colorado State University, one of the nation’s top experts on hurricanes, and whom has studied tropical meteorology for more than 40 years, is basically declared an infidel and a fatwa demanding he be tarred and feathered is issued by the environmental movement - nothing but a cover organization for socialists & communists that want to use fear to force people to bow down to their ideology by making it look like big world government is the only way to save us all - because he dard to point out that Global warming is happening, but humans are not the cause? Global warming and cooling have both been happening for billions of years and the main driver has always been the sun and the earth’s rotation around it. Yet in todays world a bunch of radical socialists/communists whom hate capitalism and especially the success it has brought America, have seized on this to scare people into adopting their failed religion(s). It is about time the public got to hear from experts that we should not sacrifice our prosperity or our freedom to big government because of these scaremongeres, and that if we are going to do something about Global warming, we do something that actually makes a difference and helps us. Not waste time on useless proposals and treaties like the Kyoto Protocol whose sole objective was to destroy the American economy so the socialists in Europe would not be forced to change their ways in a decade, this sham was supposed to buy them at least half a century, because they could not compete with the American or Chinese economies. The truth is out there and finally coming out Al Gore. You can stop being serial about the Manbearpig.

The terrorists deserve the Geneva Convention false argument

Thomas Sowell has a brilliant article dealing with this ridiculous faux-debate about allowing the intelligence collection agencies to use coercive methods to get intel. He is dead on when he asks the question:

When you enter a boxing ring, you agree to abide by the rules of boxing. But when you are attacked from behind in a dark alley, you would be a fool to abide by the Marquis of Queensbury rules. If you do, you can end up being a dead fool.

Even with a nuclear Iran looming on the horizon and the prospect that its nuclear weapons will end up in the hands of international terrorists that it has been sponsoring for years, many in the media and in the government that is supposed to protect us have been preoccupied with whether we are being nice enough to the terrorists in our custody.

He also points out that the current crowd opposing our policy seems to be completely deranged.

The argument is made that we must respect the Geneva convention because, otherwise, our own soldiers will be at risk of mistreatment when they become prisoners of war.

Does any sane adult believe that the cutthroats we are dealing with will respect the Geneva convention? Or that our extension of Geneva convention rights to them will be seen as anything other than another sign of weakness and confusion that will encourage them in their terrorism?

No one has suggested that we disregard the Geneva convention for people covered by the Geneva convention. The question is whether a lawless court shall seize the power to commit this nation to rules never agreed to by those whom the Constitution entrusted with the power to make international treaties

Every lefty I have talked to has told me they expect that the terrorists will see how good we are and change their ways, and if not that it will show the people that hate us that we are not so bad. yeah right. What it does is show them how stupid the left has ebcome and how dangerous taking them seriously has become for our survival in theis clash of civilizations. He also makes a point that I have made repeatedly;

Article III, Section II of the Constitution gives Congress the power to limit the jurisdiction of federal courts, and Congress has specifically taken away the jurisdiction of the courts in cases involving the detention of illegal combatants, such as terrorists, who are not — repeat, not — prisoners of war covered by the Geneva convention.

The Supreme Court ignored that law. Apparently everyone must obey the law except judges. Congress has the power to impeach judges, including Supreme Court justices, but apparently not the guts. Runaway judges are not going to stop until they get stopped.

The activist judges on the SCOTUS gave protection to terrorists that they are neither entitled to nor deserving of, yet our elected representatives do nothing to correct this horribly idiotic and despotic ruling that has seriously harmed our ability to fight. We all know that the left wants us to lose this conflict bebcause they really believe we are the bad guys and that war is wrong. They still have not articulated what comes after we lose other than that they should be in power to make that come about. But you have to ask yourself what the hell conservatives are thinking when they take up this cause celebre of the lefty defeatists. I respected McCain for his service and sacrifice, but I am now more than ever convinced that he is a dangerous fool more concerned with getting the liberal MSM to like him than he is in doing what is right.

Holy misreporting!

Do you want to see the bias of the US haters at work? Check out the AP chose to present the facts about this story:

TORONTO — The United States “very likely” sent a Canadian software engineer to Syria, where he was tortured, based on the false accusation by Canadian authorities that he was suspected of links to Al Qaeda, according to a new government report.

So the Canadian authorities screw up and falsely accuse one of their citizens of working with al Qaeda, but the US is to blame for that and the fact the man got locked up in Syria? I wonder if the AP also is in the habit of blaming the people at the hospital that examine a rape victim and collect evidence and not the rapist for the crime. Anyone doubt there is bias at work here? Look these people will always hate America. They tolerate it when some dopey democrat is in charge and is too busy kissing their ass to do what is best for America, but they never, ever, will like the US. It is called envy. They despise the fact that we are top dog despite all the indoctrination they have had about how superior their socialism and caring is supposed to make them. In fact there is a clear parallel with the envy, hopelessness, and loathing the people in the Islamic world feel towards the West because of their own condition. I have a feeling that if most of the world stopped worrying about how good others have it compared to them and actually emulated what these others (the US of A) are doing - democracy, capitalism, and freedom - the world would be a much better place with a lot fewer shit holes. Of course having fewer idiots like this AP reporter and reporting the facts and not the spin, might also go a long way to stop the trouble.

Update: Let me clarify that I believe what happened to this poor guys is terrible. I am at no point trying to make light of the fact that he was done a terrible injustice. But I am not going to lay blame on the US like the AP does purely for political and partisan reasons, the AP hates the US and the entire “War on Terror” thing, when the Canadian government made the mistake of fingering him as a terrorist and al Qaeda accomplice to begin with. If the AP was honest about its reporting it would lay blame where it was due: on the Canadians, and demand they compensate this man for the horror they put him through. Not this fluff piece to paint the US, president Bush, and the “WoT” & policies to fight terrorism, in the most negative light possible. This is not reporting news, this is blatant agenda pushing.

On that ABC 9-11 special that had the Clintons up in arms

Have a look at what Mr. Nowrasteh wrote the screenplay for “The Path to 9/11.” has to say about the controversy. The left would have you believe that the Clinton people that objected to their portrayal in this movie are right, but the fact seems to be that they are just covering their asses some more. A must read to clear some of the smoke & mirriors the left threw up about this story.

The Islam vs. Pope fiasco

Here is how a member of the “religion of peace” reacted to the Pope’s historically based comments, comments the Pope seems to be trying to run away from now, because of the reaction from those that didn’t like these facts repeated have promised, and actually begun to carry out. Anyone not clear why “moderate Muslims” never speak up against acts by the supposed radicals yet? If anyone that points out what they doing is evil gets not only threatened with violence, but people actually end up paying with their lives, if I was one of these “moderates” I would keep my trap shut too. What happened to people like Rushdi, or to the cartoonists in Denmark, and what is now happening to the Pope, isn’t the exception, it is the norm. In the mind of the nut jobs anyone daring to expose the truth or calling into question their beliefs need to be silenced by fear or death. We are living in a precarious and dangerous time when too many people in a religion that is looking backwards are actively running a campaign to silence those trying to tell the truth about it and trying to prevent the coming global conflict these crazies want. Political Correctness has come full circle on this issue. The amount of people that were ready to criticize the Pope without any knowledge of the fact what he spoke about is an historical fact was frightening to me. The fact so many, even when informed of these facts, choose to keep that course and make excuses for why we should not say things that anger Muslims, these days everything angers them, is even more frightening. The West has truly lost its moral compass.
